In this Letter we construct a spinor transport theory and derive the equations of motion for the distribution functions for currents in noncollinear magnetic multilayers. We find the length scale which characterizes the transverse spin current is of the order of 3 nm for a ferromagnetic 3d transition metal such as Co; this alters one's prediction of the spin torque generated for free magnetic layers less than 3 nm. In the limit of large exchange splitting we reproduce the results previously found for spin currents across noncollinear multilayers inasmuch as there are no transverse spin currents in the layers themselves in this limit. 相似文献

The problem of homogeneous irradiation of Si ingots of large diameter (i.e., comparable with the thermal neutron diffusion
length in silicon—20 cm) by thermal neutrons is considered. The effect of neutron absorption on the irradiation homogeneity
is discussed. It is established for some usual cases of neutron doping that the neutron distribution in the irradiation zone
affects the irradiation homogeneity. The results obtained can be useful for choosing and designing the irradiation zone for

The electronic structure of K-doped C60 was investigated by photoemission (PE) and X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) studies at the C-1s and K-2p thresholds. In addition, information on the local K-derived partial density of states in superconducting K3C60 was obtained by resonant PE at the K-2p
1/2 threshold. The experimental observations support a complete charge transfer from K to C60 and we clearly observe a finite density of states atE

. From resonant PE, occupied states with K-p, d character could be identified in the binding-energy region from 1.5 to 8 eV below, but not directly at the Fermi level. A numerical solution for the Navier-Stokes equations in the unbounded region is considered for the interaction of an isolated vortex and shear flow. A Chebyshey collocation method in space and finite-difference method for temporal discretization are used. The results of the numerical experiments for the interaction are discussed. AbstractThe effect of ion-plasma deposition on the structure of high-carbon films (at. %) Fe–(20–84) % С, Co–(5–52) % С, Ni–(7–61) % С was investigated. The lattice periods and crystallite sizes of nonequilibrium phases in the as-deposited state and after heating are determined. The temperatures of the beginning and end of the decay of metastable phases during heating at a constant speed are established. The transition from an amorphous to an equilibrium crystalline state in Fe–C films passes through the stage of formation and subsequent decomposition of an intermediate, metastable hcp phase of variable composition. The electrical and hysteretic magnetic properties of the films were measured in the as-deposited state and after heat treatment. The compositions and conditions for producing films with low values of the temperature coefficient of electrical resistance and high coercive force are established. Thus, high-carbon films of Ni–61% C in the as-depoteted state and Fe–69% C films after heating to 900?K are characterized by small TCR values (± 10?6 К?1) over a wide temperature range. 相似文献
