The resonance features of the third-harmonic generation have been observed in 1D coupled microcavities consisting of three Bragg reflectors and two identical half-wave layers of mesoporous silicon. The third-harmonic intensity increases by a factor of about 103 in the resonance of fundamental radiation with each of the modes of coupled microcavities. It has been shown that the resonance positions in the angular spectra of the third-harmonic intensity depend on the coupling between microcavities that is determined by the transmission of the intermediate Bragg reflector. In the framework of the transfer-matrix method with nonlinear sources, it has been shown that the basic mechanism of the enhancement of the third-harmonic generation in coupled microcavities based on porous silicon is the constructive interference of the partial third-harmonic waves that are generated by near-surface layers.  相似文献

The surface phase transition in a SrTiO3 crystal was studied by second optical harmonic generation. Nonlinear optical response singularities were observed at temperature T*=145 K, which was 40 K higher than the Tc structural phase transition temperature in the crystal volume. Nonlinear critical opalescence in the crystal volume caused by the presence of point defects was studied. The second harmonic field and the intensity of critical opalescence were calculated based on the phenomenological model of nonlinear optical processes with the use of the Landau theory of phase transitions.  相似文献

Magnetization-induced third harmonic (TH) generation was observed in magnetic nanostructures—nanogranular CoxAg1? x films—possessing giant magnetoresistance (GMR). The magnetization-induced contribution to the TH intensity was studied as a function of the concentration of a magnetic component (cobalt) in the films. Magnetic contrast of the TH intensity was found to correlate with the GMR coefficient: both parameters simultaneously reach extremum in the range of cobalt concentrations x~0.3–0.35.  相似文献

Hyper-Rayleigh scattering in the third harmonic generation (incoherent optical third harmonic) was experimentally observed in spatially inhomogeneous, quasi-two-dimensional structures formed by silver island films. A comprehensive analysis of the linear and nonlinear light scattering in combination with the results of atomic-force microscopy revealed the fractal nature of the island films studied in the experiment.  相似文献

Abstract— The Fourier-transform infrared spectra of chloroform-d solutions of conjugated imines CH3CH=CHCH=NCH(CH3)2 and CH3CH2CH=CHCH=CHCH=NCH(CH3)2 and the related protonated species with HCl, HBr, HI, trichloro, dichloro, monobromo and monochloroacetic acids or propionic acid are presented. The effects of conjugation and protonation are examined. The results show that conjugation slightly increases the basicity of the Schiff bases. HCl, HBr and HI protonate the Schiff bases completely. The carboxylic acids protonate partially depending on their p K a, values. When the Schiff base contains two (or more) C=C bonds conjugated with C=N, the main C=C stretching band undergoes a strong intensification showing that sizeable dipole moment variations occur along the conjugated chain.  相似文献

We report a new spectroscopic technique to measure simultaneously the intensity and the phase of second-harmonic (SH) radiation over a broad spectral range without laser tuning. Temporally separated SH pulses from two sources, excited by the same broad-bandwidth 15-fs Ti:sapphire fundamental pulse, interfere in a spectrometer to yield frequency-domain interference fringes. We demonstrate the technique by measuring the strongly bias-dependent phase of SH radiation from a Si/SiO(2)/Cr metal-oxide-semiconductor capacitor in the spectral range of the SiE(1) critical point.  相似文献

Layered structures based on porous silicon have been studied by confocal microscopy of the second optical harmonic. A linear increase in the second-harmonic intensity with increasing porosity of the layers has been observed. This behavior may result from spatial fluctuations in the dipole quadratic response of the pore walls.  相似文献
