Improvement of synthesis conditions of dispersed polymetallic Fe–Al–Mo systems in aqueous solutions

Kinetic dependences describing the processes occurring on aluminum microparticles in aqueous solutions containing iron and molybdenum ions were determined. It was shown that the samples obtained contain iron, molybdenum, and aluminum in the elementary state in the absence of an oxide phase.     

Numerical simulation of the formation of compact strikers from low-sphericity linings

We consider the physicomathematical formulation of the problem of explosive formation of a penetrator from a low-sphericity copper lining. Calculations are made for the formation of a penetrator for a phlegmatized hexogen charge for two models of the behavior of the lining material (copper), and the results are compared with the experimental data.     

Preparation of a disperse Fe–Al–Mo system and production of bulk materials on its base

We show the feasibility to prepare a disperse Fe–Al–Mo polymetal system by contact exchange in chloride-containing aqueous solutions. Reaction schemes are suggested to describe the processes that proceed on aluminum microparticles in aqueous solutions where the relevant metal ions are contained. The system is shown to be a precursor for intermetallic compounds, which are generated by high-temperature processes, e.g., spark plasma sintering (SPS).     

Experimental investigations of nonlinear acoustic phenomena in polycrystalline zinc

The results of experimental and theoretical investigations of nonlinear acoustic phenomena (nonlinear losses, shift of resonance frequency, generation of the third harmonic, and nonlinear sound-by-sound damping) in polycrystalline zinc nonannealed and annealed resonating rods are presented. The measurements were carried out in the 10(-7)-10(-5) strain range at a frequency of about 3 kHz; the frequency of the weak ultrasonic pulse was about 270 kHz. The experimentally observed phenomena are described in frames of phenomenological equations of state containing elastic hysteresis and dissipative nonlinearity. The nonlinear acoustic parameters of these equations are determined by comparison between theoretical dependencies and experimental results. The influence of structural changes in zinc due to annealing on the nonlinear acoustic phenomena is shown.
