Metal complexation by anthocyanins is a very efficient mechanism for protecting plants. While Mg is an essential metal for life, typically found bound to anthocyanins, Al interferes with the metabolism of the former. Density functional theory and the polarizable continuum model are used to study cyanin (the simplest anthocyanin bearing a catechol unit) complexes with Mg(II) and Al(III), considering different metal ligand stoichiometries. Results obtained for metal-binding energies indicate that Al(III) complexes are always more stable than those of Mg(II). Furthermore, reaction energies for the metal exchange process show that free Al(III) (hexaaquo complex) is always able to displace Mg(II). This displacement is more favored when the metal ligand ratio decreases. Thus, anthocyanins are implied in suppressing Al(III) toxicity by enabling its accumulation and reducing its migration to ecosystems. The characteristics of Al(III)?Ccyanidin and Mg(II)?Ccyanidin bonds are investigated using the quantum theory of atoms in molecules. We find these complexes are more stabilized by ion?Cdipole electrostatic interactions than by electron pair sharing, as predicted by the Hard and Soft Acids Theory. Globally, two factors increase the covalent character: replacement of Mg(II) by Al(III) and replacement of water by cyanidin ligands.  相似文献

A time-dependent theoretical method is used to describe a UV pump?CUV probe strategy to trace, at a femtosecond time scale, the motion of vibrational wave packets created in excited states of the hydrogen molecule by measuring single ionization probabilities. We use a spectral method to solve the time-dependent Schr?dinger equation in full dimensionality, including correlation and all electronic and vibrational degrees of freedom. A pump pulse initially creates a vibrational wave packet in the intermediate electronic excited states of $\hbox{H}_2$ . The frequency of the probe is chosen to ionize the target leaving the ion in a bound vibrational state. By varying the time delay between pulses, non-dissociative single ionization is enhanced or suppressed. Energy differential ionization probabilities are reported and compared with a model based on the Franck?CCondon approximation.  相似文献

In the present study, we established a statistical distribution pattern of indigenous sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen species in Arabian Heavy crude oil and its distilled fractions: naphtha, gas oil, and vacuum gas oil (VGO) using chemical derivatization with methyl iodide and subsequent characterization by positive electrospray Fourier transform mass spectrometry. It was observed that sulfur species for naphtha and gas oil were accumulated at lower double bond equivalent values and at lower carbon numbers compared to VGO, whereas crude oil encompassed a complete range of the sulfur species detected in all distilled fractions. Moreover, the use of alumina column chromatography and ligand exchange chromatography (LEC) on a palladium-bonded silica stationary phase revealed additional structural features of sulfur heterocycles in terms of condensed and non-condensed thiophenes. During LEC separation, in addition to sulfur heterocycles, interesting results were obtained for oxygen-containing compounds. Ortho-substituted alkyl phenols were separated from meta- and para-substituted alkyl phenols on a palladium-bonded silica stationary phase.  相似文献

Efficiency in HPLC can be enhanced by increasing the column length and/or decreasing the particle size. The use of high temperature in HPLC has emerged as a valuable tool to overcome the increase in column backpressure when using small packing particles, as it allows for reduction in mobile phase viscosity. In this study, high plate count was obtained by coupling sub-2 ??m columns at elevated temperature to reduce the viscosity of the mobile phase, thus reducing the column backpressure. At 80 °C, up to three columns of 15 cm × 4.6 mm I.D. packed with 1.8 ??m particles could be coupled generating ~84,000 theoretical plates for the last eluting compound. The number of theoretical plates was increased on average by a factor of ~3.6 when three columns were coupled at 80 °C compared with one column at 30 °C. The relationships between separation efficiency and column length were examined using Van Deemter plots constructed at 30 °C and 80 °C for different column lengths. The advantages of using coupled columns in combination with elevated temperature for the environmental analysis were illustrated using test mixtures comprised of eight sulfonamides separated on one column at 30 °C and three coupled columns at 80 °C by isocratic elution. Sample clean up was carried out by employing solid-phase extraction (SPE) using Oasis HLB cartridges. The method developed was validated based on parameters such as linearity, precision, accuracy, detection and quantification limits. Recoveries generally ranged from 71.7 to 99% (with the exception of sulfanilamide), with standard deviations not higher than 4.7%. The detection limits of the method ranged from 0.6?C2 ??g L?1, while limits of quantification were in the range 2?C6.7 ??g L?1 with UV detection.  相似文献

The basic strategic aims in the field of managing high-level radioactive waste and liquidation of nuclear power plants are all contained in the Energy policy of the Slovak Republic. Its aim is to resolve the concept of the backside of the nuclear energetics fuel cycle??long-term deposition of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel (SNF). The most important form of high-level radioactive waste and SNF long-term deposition is their deposition in deep geological formations created by natural as well as engineering barriers used to isolate the long-lived radionuclides from the biosphere. The basic components of these barriers are clays, of which bentonite is generally referred to as the most suitable clay material. There are a few significant bentonite deposits in the Slovak Republic: Jel?ový potok, Kopernica, Lastovce, Lieskovec, Dolná Ves. The review article summarizes the information on geotechnical properties of Slovak bentonites published up-to-date, which is inevitable to know for the intention of their use. It highlights the advantages and shows drawbacks of five Slovak deposits. It suggests further research direction, to draw a thorough hydraulical, microbial and radiation profile of Slovak bentonites.  相似文献

Physicochemical and thermal analyses were undertaken to evaluate the influence of the temperature on the oxidation of sea fish oil once its polyunsaturated fatty acids deteriorate rapidly. Fish oil displayed four decomposition steps in synthetic air atmosphere and only one step in nitrogen atmosphere. The first step started at 189 and 222 °C for oxidizing and inert atmospheres, respectively. An OIT value of 53 min was measured at 100 °C. After the degradation process the peroxide index and the iodine index reduced from 35.38 to 9.85 meq × 1000 g?1 and from 139.79 to 120.19 gI2 × 100 g?1, respectively. An increase of the free fatty acids amount from 0.07 to 0.17% was observed while viscosity increased from 57.2 to 58.0 cP. Absorption at 272 nm also increased. The thermogravimetric and spectroscopic techniques are reproducible and versatile being an option for characterization of edible oil oxidation.  相似文献

In terms of the density functional theory (DFT) using B3LYP/6-31G(d) method with full geometry optimization, gas-phase quantum chemical calculations were performed for ??-complexes formed upon the attack of electrophiles E (E = H+, Me+, Me3Si+, Br+, NO2 +, MeCO+, SO3) on ??- and ??-positions of furan, thiophene, selenophene, pyrrole, and N-substituted pyrroles (NR-pyrroles, R = Me, But, SiMe3, SiPri 3, C6H4NO2-p, SO2Ph, CHO, COOMe) and for respective ??- and ??-substituted electrophilic substitution products. The energy differences between the ??- and ??-isomers of the ??-complexes characterize the preferred direction of the electrophilic attack, while the energy differences between the isomeric products make it possible to estimate the energy preference of a particular product. An analysis of the results obtained demonstrates the effect of the structure of heterocycle, the nature of electrophile, and thermodynamic and steric factors on the positional selectivity (??/?? ratio) in electrophilic substitution reactions of ??-electron rich five-membered heteroaromatics.  相似文献

Stress concentrations in the vicinity of cutouts can often be regarded to be the limiting factor for a whole structure. As a further development of prior research at the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology, an analytical method for the determination of the whole stress-strain fields in the vicinity of holes in multilayered textile-reinforced composites has been developed, which takes into consideration the influences of a finite outer boundary of the specimen. The analytical method is based on the classical laminate theory and the use of complex-valued potential functions. To account for the shape of the specimen, the method of conformal mappings is applied for the inner boundary, while a combination of boundary collocation and least squares method is used for the outer boundary. The method allows a layer-by-layer analysis of stress concentrations. For the verification of the developed calculation model, extensive experimental and numerical finite-element (FE) studies have been carried out on multilayered GF/PP plates with different laminate layups, notches, and specimen dimensions. The comparison of the experimentally or numerically determined results with the analytically calculated ones shows a very good correlation, of which the numerical studies are presented here for the first time. In a second step, the applicable boundary conditions on the outer boundary have been extended in such a way that varying stress and moment resultants can be applied, so that the calculation method can be used as an analytical sub-model in combination with FE techniques.  相似文献

Possibilities of a multicell isoperibolic-semiadiabatic calorimeter application for the measurement of hydration heat and maximum temperature reached in mixtures of various compositions during their setting and early stages of hardening are presented. Measurements were aimed to determine the impact of selected components?? content on the course of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) hydration. The following components were selected for the determination of the hydration behaviour in mixtures: very finely ground granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS), silica fume (microsilica, SF), finely ground quartz sand (FGQ), and calcined bauxite (CB). A commercial polycarboxylate type superplasticizer was also added to the selected mixtures. All maximum temperatures measured for selected mineral components were lower than that reached for cement. The maximum temperature increased with the decreasing amount of components in the mixture for all components except for silica fume. For all components, except for CB, the values of total released heat were higher than those for pure Portland cement samples.  相似文献
