We propose a fibre optical stabilizer constituted by a photoelectric-hybrid optical bistable device in which fibre Bragg grating is used as a light intensity modulator. The intensity noise-reducing ability is well improved through the method by employing two feed signals. As a result, the light intensity variation can be reduced to - 1/64. 相似文献

We propose a novel optical bistable device (OBD) in frequency-domain with which we can perform optical bistable operations in a number of fibre Bragg gratings (FBGs) which are included in the same OBD. Such an OBD may bring more opportunities in applications and, as an example, we show the possibility of using it in an FBG sensor demodulating system. By use of a tunable light source, consisting of a broad band source and a scanning fibre F-P (FFP), we demonstrate the above-mentioned operations experimentally. 相似文献

In this letter, a novel mechanism of hybrid optical bistability is proposed by using nonlinear mechanism in the frequency domain. This device is based on electro-optical feedback through the fiber Bragg grating on piezoelectric transducer (PZT) to tune continuous wave (CW) fiber laser. The optical bistable characteristics for two manners of separately alternating input power and bias voltage are discussed. The smallest wavelength shift of the order of 0.001 nm needed to realize a switching process in this optical bistability device is estimated. The potential applications of this device in the optical fiber sensor technique are also discussed. 相似文献

We observe a novel hybrid optical bistability by using an electro-optically tuned cw fibre laser with a fibre FabryPerot filter. The principles of the optical bistable device in two operation manners are analysed. The applications in monitoring the wavelength shift of a tunable fibre laser and fibre sensor of digital type are also discussed. 相似文献

A novel chaotic oscillator in wavelength domain by using a tunable fibre laser is proposed. The generator of chaos in wavelength is composed of fibre Bragg grating (FBG) with hybrid delayed feedback loop which induces wavelength nonlinearity. The dynamical regime of wavelength is ruled by a differential difference equation. We give the numerical simulation of the experimental setup and discuss its application in an optical encryption system. 相似文献
