In a practical situation it is often difficult to determine the value of the shortage costs for use in in ventory-control systems. However, in cost-minimization problems including service-level constraints, shortage costs are implicitly prevailing. With the purpose of exploring these relations, a continuous review (Q, r) stock-control system is considered, where the order points and lot sizes are computed simultaneously. Instead of explicitly expressing the shortage cost in the objective function, it is taken into consideration through a service-level constraint. The shadow price of this constraint can in some sense be interpreted as the shortage cost corresponding to the requested service level. By changing the value of the service level, interesting relations between shortage costs and service levels can be viewed for different sets of other inventory parameters. In order to investigate the sensitivity for probabilistic variations in the input data, two different probability distributions are used to describe the lead-time demand.  相似文献

The cylindrically symmetric radial evolution of an inhomogeneous plasma layer expanding into vacuum is investigated nonperturbatively by first determining the spatial structure of the plasma flow structure. The evolution is then governed by a set of ordinary differential equations. The effect of the plasma inhomogeneity on the nonlinear coupling among the electron and ion flow components and oscillations is investigated.  相似文献

The driving forces and conformational pathways leading to amphitropic protein-membrane binding and in some cases also to protein misfolding and aggregation is the subject of intensive research. In this study, a chimeric polypeptide, A-Cage-C, derived from α-Lactalbumin is investigated with the aim of elucidating conformational changes promoting interaction with bilayers. From previous studies, it is known that A-Cage-C causes membrane leakages associated with the sporadic formation of amorphous aggregates on solid-supported bilayers. Here we express and purify double-labelled A-Cage-C and prepare partially deuterated bicelles as a membrane mimicking system. We investigate A-Cage-C in the presence and absence of these bicelles at non-binding (pH 7.0) and binding (pH 4.5) conditions. Using in silico analyses, NMR, conformational clustering, and Molecular Dynamics, we provide tentative insights into the conformations of bound and unbound A-Cage-C. The conformation of each state is dynamic and samples a large amount of overlapping conformational space. We identify one of the clusters as likely representing the binding conformation and conclude tentatively that the unfolding around the central W23 segment and its reorientation may be necessary for full intercalation at binding conditions (pH 4.5). We also see evidence for an overall elongation of A-Cage-C in the presence of model bilayers.  相似文献

The electroweak coupling between intense neutrino beams and strongly degenerate relativistic dense electron-positron magnetoplasmas is considered. The intense neutrino bursts interact with the plasma due to the weak Fermi interaction force, and their dynamics is governed by a kinetic equation. Our objective here is to develop a kinetic equation for a degenerate neutrino gas and to use that equation to derive relativistic magnetohydrodynamic equations. The latter are useful for studying numerous collective processes when intense neutrino beams nonlinearly interact with degenerate, relativistic, dense electron-positron plasmas in strong magnetic fields. If the number densities of the plasma particles are of the order of 1033 cm-3, the pair plasma becomes ultra-relativistic, which strongly affects the potential energy of the weak Fermi interaction. The new system of equations allows several neutrino-driven streaming instabilities involving new types of relativistic Alfvén-like waves. The relevance of our investigation to the early universe and supernova explosions is discussed. We consider reflection of electromagnetic waves from layered structures with various dielectric and magnetic properties, including metamaterials. Assuming periodic variations in the permittivity, we find that the reflection is in general anomalous. In particular, we note that the specular reflection vanishes and that the incident energy is totally reflected in the backward direction, when the conditions for resonant excitation of leaking surface waves are fulfilled.  相似文献

The bromine isotope composition is potentially diagnostic in both degradation monitoring and source apportionment of organobromines in the environment. A method for compound‐specific bromine isotope analysis (δ81Br) based on gas chromatography multiple collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (GC/ICPMS) was developed for common brominated diaromatic compounds. Brominated diphenyl ethers (BDEs) in Bromkal 70‐5DE, a technical flame‐retardant mixture containing mainly BDEs #47, #99 and #100, were used as test substances, with standard bracketing for the samples achieved through co‐injected monobromobenzene (MBB) with a known δ81Br of ?0.39‰ vs. Standard Mean Ocean Bromine (SMOBr). Three different heated transfer lines were constructed and tested to achieve efficient conduction of the BDEs from the gas chromatograph to the ICPMS instrument. The MBB was analyzed with a precision of 0.4‰ (1 s, n = 18). The precision for BDEs was 1.4–1.8‰ (1 s, n = 10–12 depending on the congener). The lower precision for the BDEs than for MBB may reflect the heat required to prevent condensation of the analytes in ICP torch assembly. The use of an internal standard of similar chemical structure to the analytes alleviates this problem, as illustrated by a difference of 0.3 ± 0.7‰ (1 s, n = 6) between the δ81Br values of co‐injected methoxy BDE‐47 and BDE‐47 extracted from whale blubber. Improvements in precision and accuracy may be achieved by the use of a more efficient heating of the torch assembly in conjunction with a set of internal standards that match the target compounds. Exact explicit solutions, describing the propagation of wideband non-sinusoidal waveforms in the ionospheric Alfvén waveguide by means of non-separable electromagnetic fields, are presented. The dispersive modulation of these fields is shown to result in the formation of quasimonochromatic oscillations at the wings of the Alfvén pulses. The frequencies of these oscillations are close to the cut off frequencies of the waveguide.  相似文献
