A new contrast agent for MRI based on recombinant HDL-like nanoparticles has been prepared. It shows a great potential as a contrast agent for atherosclerotic plaques in a relative short time (24 h post-injection) as it is selective for the plaques and is an endogenous molecule. It also can distinguish between different types of plaques as the enhancement obtained is different, depending on plaque composition.  相似文献

The reaction of sodium nitrite with sodium dithionite was studied in the presence of cobalt(II) tetrasulfophthalocyanine, COII(TSPc)4-, in aqueous alkaline solution. The overall mechanism comprises the reduction of CoII(TSPc)4- by dithionite, followed by the formation of an intermediate complex between COI(TSPc)5- and nitrite, which undergoes two parallel subsequent reactions with and without nitrite as a reagent. Kinetic parameters for the different reaction steps of the catalytic process were determined. The final product of the reaction was found to be ammonia. Contrary to those found for the catalytic reduction of nitrite, the products of the catalytic reduction of nitrate were found to be dinitrogen and nitrous oxide. The possible catalytic reduction of nitrous oxide was confirmed by independent experiments. The striking differences in the reduction products of nitrite and nitrate are explained in terms of different structures of the intermediate complex between CoI(TSPc)5- and substrate, in which nitrite and nitrate are suggested to coordinate via nitrogen and oxygen, respectively.  相似文献

In the study, the Ni–Zn ferrite powder of a Ni0.3Zn0.7Fe2O4 composition was synthesized by sol–gel route using metal acetates at low temperatures. Both the scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction analyses of various gel samples heated at different temperatures were used to identify the reaction stages where the amorphous-gel-to-crystalline phase transition occurred. The electrical, magnetic and microstructural properties of the toroidal cores were studied. It was found that the initial permeability increased with a large frequency band (0.1–31.39 MHz) and the magnetic loss was small. The electrical resistivity was higher as compared to the ones which were obtained by the conventional process. Therefore, well–defined polycrystalline microstructure nickel–zinc ferrite and a short processing time of gel preparation have become the major achievements of this study.  相似文献

With the recent development of integrated positron emission tomography–magnetic resonance imaging (PET–MRI) scanners, new possibilities for quantitative molecular imaging of cancer are realized. However, the practical advantages and potential clinical benefits of the ability to record PET and MRI data simultaneously must be balanced against the substantial costs and other requirements of such devices. In this review, we highlight several of the key areas where integrated PET–MRI measurements, obtained simultaneously, are anticipated to have a significant impact on clinical and/or research studies. These areas include the use of MR-based motion corrections and/or a priori anatomical information for improved reconstruction of PET data, improved arterial input function characterization for PET kinetic modeling, the use of dual-modality contrast agents, and patient comfort and practical convenience. For widespread acceptance, a compelling case could be made if the combination of quantitative MRI and specific PET biomarkers significantly improves our ability to assess tumor status and response to therapy, and some likely candidates are now emerging. We consider the relative advantages and disadvantages afforded by PET–MRI and summarize current opinions and evidence as to the likely value of PET–MRI in the management of cancer.  相似文献

Polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) based nanoparticles are biocompatible and biodegradable and therefore have been extensively investigated as therapeutic carriers. Here, we engineered diagnostically active PLGA nanoparticles that incorporate high payloads of nanocrystals into their core for tunable bioimaging features. We accomplished this through esterification reactions of PLGA to generate polymers modified with nanocrystals. The PLGA nanoparticles formed from modified PLGA polymers that were functionalized with either gold nanocrystals or quantum dots exhibited favorable features for computed tomography and optical imaging, respectively.  相似文献

The photolytic and photo-oxidative evolution of unsaturated polyesters, crosslinked or not, exposed to polychromatic light is studied using IR, FTIR, UV spectrometries. The influence of each elaboration parameter (nature and concentration of diacids like maleic anhydride, fumaric acid or phthalic acids, nature of glycols, nature and concentrations of crosslinking agents, mode of crosslinking) is determined. The mechanism involving primary excitation of the maleate-fumarate or of phthalate units and radical reactions accounts for the appearance of hydroxylated and carbonylated groups. Photoyellowing of unsaturated polyesters is related either to the styrene oligomers or to the phthalate units. Through parallel studies of photochemistries in polystyrene (PS) and poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) at long wavelengths, the different sources of photo-yellowing are precised.  相似文献
