We study the performance of finite frames for the encoding of vectors by applying standard higher-order sigma-delta quantization
to the frame coefficients. Our results are valid for any quantizer with accuracy ε > 0 operating in the no-overload regime.
The frames under consideration are obtained from regular sampling of a path in a Hilbert space. In order to achieve error
bounds that are comparable to results on higher-order sigma-delta for the quantization of oversampled bandlimited functions,
we construct frame paths that terminate smoothly in the zero vector, that is, with an appropriate number of vanishing derivatives

We make a new proposal to describe the very low temperature susceptibility of the doped Haldane gap compound Y2BaNi1-xZnxO5. We propose a new mean field model relevant for this compound. The ground state of this mean field model is unconventional
because antiferromagnetism coexists with random dimers. We present new susceptibility experiments at very low temperature.
We obtain a Curie-Weiss susceptibility χ(
T
) ∼

) as expected for antiferromagnetic correlations but we do not obtain a direct signature of antiferromagnetic long range order.
We explain how to obtain the “impurity” susceptibility

The solid reaction products from pyrolysis of polyethylene terephthalate in the presence and absence of red phosphorus were characterized by CP/MAS 13C-NMR, FR-IR, and MAS 31P-NMR spectroscopy. Over the temperature range of 300–400°C, polyethylene terephthalate was converted in a sealed vial to a highly crosslinked polymer of terephthalic acid. Pyrolysis in the presence of red phosphorus, which functions as a flame retardant by increasing the amount of char, yielded an intractible polyaromatic phosphate ester. After thermal cleavage of polyethylene terephthalate with formation of free carboxyl and vinyl ester groups, there are two competing reaction pathways. The smaller molecular weight fragments may enter the vapor phase where they undergo further degradation primarily to CO2, CO, and acetaldehyde, as described by others. However, if volatilization of the oligomeric fragments is inhibited, an alternate reaction pathway gives rise to the formation of highly crosslinked char. Red phosphorus decreases the volatility of the oligomeric fragments by converting them to phosphates and thereby enhances char formation. 相似文献

Determination of traces of mercury in biological material by neutron activation
Summary A simple and rapid technique for the trace analysis of mercury by neutron activation is presented. The activated mercury, as an HgCl4 2– complex, is retained on an anion exchange resin which is counted directly. Results obtained for biological samples containing 10 p. p. b. to 200 p. p. m. are given. In this range, results had a ± 10% standard deviation.
Zusammenfassung Ein einfaches und rasches Verfahren zur Bestimmung von Spuren Quecksilber durch Neutronenaktivierung wurde beschrieben. Herein the synthesis and characterization of new, lipophilic highly Zn2+-selective fluorescent probes are reported. High affinity for zinc (Kd 1.1–8.0 nM) over other biologically relevant metals and mixtures of metals was observed. Excitation at 360 nm afforded an emission spectrum with maximum at 530 nm for the zinc bound complex. The linear relationship between fluorescence intensity and zinc concentration indicates that FZnA-probes can be used for quantification. The probes have been synthesized in 28–45% overall yield and the feasibility for further functionalization with biologically relevant side chains has been demonstrated. In vitro studies using PC12 cells and 10 μM of one of the novel probes (FZnA-Ada) visualized endogenous labile Zn2+ after 45 min incubation time. 相似文献
