The solution chemistry of actinides, particularly hydrolysis, is of major importance in the design of nuclear waste repositories and in relation to nuclear fuel reprocessing cycles. In this study the formation and solubility of the Th(OH)4 solid phase has been investigated as a function of the aging time and the presence of natural organic matter (e.g. humic acid) in 0.1 M NaClO4, at weak acid pH and under normal atmospheric conditions. Th(OH)4 has been prepared by alkaline precipitation and characterized by TGA, ATR–FTIR, XRD, and solubility measurements. According to the experimental data Th(OH)4 is stable and remains the solubility limiting solid phase even in the presence of increased humic acid concentration in solution. Increasing humic acid concentration doesn’t affect the crystallite size and the solubility product of Th(OH)4. Th(OH)4 solubility is basically pH depended and governed by the presence of colloidal species. However, solid phase aging, which in absence of humic acid favors crystallinity, affects significantly the Th(OH)4 solubility.  相似文献

Regioselective nucleophilic addition of bisnucleophiles 1,2-benzenediamine, 2-amino-benzenethiol, and N-phenyl-1,2-benzenediamine to 1,3-diphenylbenzo[e][1,2,4]triazin-7(1H)-one (1) at C6 followed by intramolecular cyclocondensation at the C7 carbonyl afforded highly coloured tetracenes 1,3-diphenyl-1,6-dihydro-[1,2,4]triazino[5,6-b]phenazin-4-ium 4-methylbenzenesulfonate (12), 1,3-diphenyl-1H-[1,2,4]triazino[6,5-b]phenothiazine (14) and 1,3,11-triphenyl-1,6-dihydro-[1,2,4]triazino[5,6-b]phenazin-11-ium 4-methylbenzenesulfonate (15), respectively. Neutralization of the latter with alkali gave the free base 1,3,11-triphenyl-1H-[1,2,4]triazino[5,6-b]phenazin-11-ium-6-ide (16). Furthermore, the benzotriazinone 1 reacts with dimethyl malonate to give 6-(methoxycarbonyl)-7-oxo-1,3-diphenyl-7H-benzofuro[5,6-e][1,2,4]triazin-1-ium-4-ide (17) in 74% yield, while with S(4)N(4) [5,6-c]-thiadiazolo-7-oxo-1,3-diphenyl-1,2,4-benzotriazine (22) was formed in 15% yield. The free bases 16 and 17 display negative solvatochromism, which supports charge separated ground states similar to those of zwitterionic biscyanines, and DFT calculations at the UB3LYP/6-31G(d) level afford ΔE(ST) values of -13.6 and -18.7 kcal mol(-1), respectively that strongly favour the singlet ground state. All ring systems described are new and fully characterized.  相似文献

The adsorption efficiency of a biomass by-product (olive cake) regarding the removal of radium (226Ra) from aqueous solutions has been investigated prior and after its chemical treatment. The chemical treatment of the biomass by-product included phosphorylation and MnO2-coating. The separation/removal efficiency has been studied as a function of pH, salinity (NaCl) and calcium ion concentration (Ca2+) in solution. Evaluation of the experimental data shows clearly that the phosphorylated biomass by-product presents the highest adsorption capacity and efficiency followed by the MnO2-coated material and the non-treated biomass by-product. However, regarding the effect of salinity and the presence of competitive cations (e.g. Ca2+) on the adsorption/removal efficiency, the MnO2-coated material shows the lowest decline in efficiency (only 2 % of the relative adsorption efficiency) followed by the non-treated and the phosphorylated biomass by-product. The results of the present study indicate that depending on the physicochemical characteristics of the radium-contaminated water, all three types of the biomass by-product could be effectively used for the treatment of radium-contaminated waters. Nevertheless, the MnO2-coated material is expected to be the most effective adsorbent and an alternative to MnO2 resins for the treatment of environmentally relevant waters.  相似文献

A series of resorcylic acid macrolactones, analogues of the natural product radicicol has been prepared by chemical synthesis, and evaluated as inhibitors of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), an emerging attractive target for novel cancer therapeutic agents. The synthesis involves acylation of an ortho‐toluic acid dianion, esterification, followed by a ring‐closing metathesis to form the macrocycle. Subsequent manipulation of the protected hydroxymethyl side chain allows access to a range of new analogues following deprotection of the two phenolic groups. Co‐crystallization of one of the new macrolactones with the N‐terminal domain of yeast Hsp90 confirms that it binds in a similar way to the natural product radicicol and to our previous synthetic analogues, but that the introduction of the additional hydroxymethyl substituent appears to result in an unexpected change in conformation of the macrocyclic ring. As a result of this conformational change, the compounds bound less favorably to Hsp90.  相似文献

The adsorption efficiency of Opuntia ficus indica fibres regarding the removal of hexavalent uranium [U(VI)] from aqueous solutions has been investigated prior and after the chemical treatment (e.g. phosphorylation and MnO2-coating) of the biomass. The separation/removal efficiency has been studied as a function of pH, uranium concentration, adsorbent mass, ionic strength, temperature and contact time. Evaluation of the experimental data shows that biosorption is strongly pH-depended and that the MnO2-coated product presents the highest adsorption capacity followed by the phosphorylated and non-treated material. Experiments with varying ionic strength/salinity don’t show any significant effect on the adsorption efficiency, indicating the formation of inner-sphere surface complexes. The adsorption reactions are in all cases exothermic and relatively fast, particularly regarding the adsorption on the MnO2-coated product. The results of the present study indicate that adsorption of uranium from waters is very effective by cactus fibres and particularly the modified treated fibres. The increased adsorption efficiency of the cactus fibres is attributed to their primary and secondary fibrillar structure, which result in a relative relative high specific surface available for sorption.  相似文献

In this reflective paper, I explore the thinking of a group of pre-service teachers as they reason about experimental probability and theoretical probability. I am particularly interested in investigating whether pre-service teachers could construct a bidirectional link between the experimental probability and theoretical probability, similar to the tentative model I introduce elsewhere (2008) for coordinating the two perspectives on distribution. Overall, this research study contributes to understanding how pre-service students can build connections to help teachers conceptualize and support students to embrace elements that act as connections between the two approaches to probability.  相似文献

A dual frequency mixing technique has been developed for measuring velocity changes caused by material nonlinearity. The technique is based on the parametric interaction between two surface acoustic waves (SAWs): The low frequency pump SAW generated by a transducer and the high frequency probe SAW generated and detected using laser ultrasonics. The pump SAW stresses the material under the probe SAW. The stress (typically <5 MPa) is controlled by varying the timing between the pump and probe waves. The nonlinear interaction is measured as a phase modulation of the probe SAW and equated to a velocity change. The velocity-stress relationship is used as a measure of material nonlinearity. Experiments were conducted to observe the pump-probe interaction by changing the pump frequency and compare the nonlinear response of aluminum and fused silica. Experiments showed these two materials had opposite nonlinear responses, consistent with previously published data. The technique could be applied to life-time predictions of engineered components by measuring changes in nonlinear response caused by fatigue.  相似文献
