In this article, an assessment of surface structural heterogeneity in porous metal organic framework (MOF) structure has been demonstrated by employing the methane and carbon-dioxide adsorption isotherms data. The virgin MIL-101-(Cr) MOF was synthesized by the hydrothermal method and defects were induced in the MOF structure by doping with various alkali (K, Na, Li) cations. The synthesized MOFs were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDX and BET measurement techniques. In order to understand the defect induced surface heterogeneity by alkali cation dopants, the surface energy distributions for CH4 and CO2 adsorptions on MOFs were measured by Dubinin – Astakhov model equation. The surface heterogeneity is mainly controlled by the limiting uptakes of adsorbates, the polarizability of adsorbates and the adsorbate-adsorbent interaction energy. 相似文献

The alterations of organic acids citrate, α-ketoglutarate, succinate, fumarate, malate production together with isocitrate
lyase activity as a glyoxalate shunt enzyme, and antibiotic production of Streptomyces sp M4018 were investigated in relation to changes in the glucose, glycerol and starch concentrations (5–20 g/L) after identification
as a strain of Streptomyces hiroshimensis based on phenotypic and genotypic characteristics. The highest intracellular citrate and α-ketoglutarate levels in 20 g/l
of glucose, glycerol, and starch mediums were 399.47 ± 4.78, 426.93 ± 6.40, 355.84 ± 5.38 ppm and 444.81 ± 5.12, 192.96 ± 2.26,
115.20 ± 2.87 ppm, respectively. The highest succinate, malate, and fumarate levels were also determined in 20 g/l of glucose
medium as 548.9 ± 11.21, 596.15 ± 8.26, and 406.42 ± 6.59 ppm and the levels were significantly higher than the levels in
glycerol and starch. Extracellular organic acid levels measured also showed significant correlation with carbon source concentrations
by showing negative correlation with pH levels of the growth medium. The antibiotic production of Streptomyces sp. M4018 was also higher in glucose medium as was the case also for organic acids when compared with glycerol. On the other

A theoretical analysis of nano-deep corrugated long-period waveguide gratings on a SU-8 polymer-based channel waveguide with NOA61 optical epoxy coated upper- and lower cladding is presented. The transmission spectra of the gratings show strong rejection bands both at visible (at wavelength region of 450?460 nm) and infra-red (at wavelength region of 1530?1540 nm) regions when a grating period of ?68 μm with optimized grating tooth height is considered. Phase-matching graphs are studied to find the relationship between resonance wavelength and grating period. These results show that the grating parameters significantly affect the characteristics of transmission spectra as well as the resonance wavelength of the grating. Long-period waveguide grating-based band pass filter made by use of same polymer materials are also designed and analyzed. These types of waveguide grating-based filters can widely be used for visible and infra-red wavelength sensing applications. 相似文献

This paper develops a new numerical technique to price an American option written upon an underlying asset that follows a bivariate diffusion process. The technique presented here exploits the supermartingale representation of an American option price together with a coarse approximation of its early exercise surface that is based on an efficient implementation of the least-squares Monte–Carlo algorithm (LSM) of Longstaff and Schwartz (Rev Financ Stud 14:113–147, 2001). Our approach also has the advantage of avoiding two main issues associated with LSM, namely its inherent bias and the basis functions selection problem. Extensive numerical results show that our approach yields very accurate prices in a computationally efficient manner. Finally, the flexibility of our method allows for its extension to a much larger class of optimal stopping problems than addressed in this paper. 相似文献

In this paper, a photonic crystal waveguide platform on silicon-on-insulator substrate is proposed in order to realize a highly sensitive refractive index based biosensor. Following the design, the analysis of the sensor structure are made by using the three dimensional Finite Difference Time Domain method. The principle of sensing is based on the change in refractive index, which in turn changes the output spectrum of the waveguide. Results show that the sensitivity of the sensor depends mainly on the geometrical properties of the defect region of the photonic crystal structure. The phenomenon is verified for various samples having refractive index ranging from 1 (air) to 1.57 (Bovine serum albumin). Further, the structure is compared with few other conventional photonic crystal waveguide designs to analyze the sensing performance. The estimated value of sensitivity of the sensor is found to be 260 nm/RIU with a detection limit of 0.001 RIU. This high sensitivity can enhance the performance of low-concentration analytes detection. 相似文献

The presence of a Na atom in CsI: Na after X-ray irradiation is searched by ESR (35 GHz microwave) detected through the magnetic circular dichroism of a related optical absorption band. Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of N-hydroxyimidazoles were synthesised by reacting simple metal perchlorate salts with the imidazole ligand in alcohol and formulated with a metal:ligand ratio of 1:2. The X-ray crystal structures of five complexes (four Cu(II) and one Zn(II)) were obtained and each showed the two trans, N-hydroxyimidazole ligands forming six-membered, chelate rings with the metal. Both of the NO chelating, neutral N-hydroxyimidazole ligands are in the zwitterion form, with the uncoordinated imidazole imine N atom being protonated and the oxime O atom deprotonated. In the solid state the complexes form hydrogen-bonded supramolecular structures. 相似文献
