Numerical simulation of silane decomposition in an RF plasma

A model of silane decomposition in a radio-frequency argon plasma is constructed. The concentrations of SiH₄ decomposition products, as well as products of synthesis (higher silanes), are calculated. The role of metastable argon atoms in the formation of SiH₃ radicals and the higher silanes is analyzed.     

Use of organomagnesium compounds for the synthesis of organic derivatives of group II–V elements in a nonethereal medium

Summary For the primary alkyl halides (R=from C₂H₅ to n-C₉H₁₉; halogen=C1, Br, and I) and the simplest aryl halides (R=C₆H₅ and p-CH₃C₆H₄) it was shown that the organomagnesium synthesis in absence of catalysts for the Grignard reaction can be applied with success to the preparation of heteroorganic compounds of elements of Groups II–IV (mercury, boron, aluminum, silicon, germanium, tin, phosphorus, arsenic, antimony).     

Synthesis and molecular structure of 3,7-dimethyl-2-[N-(4-methylpyridyl-2)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-5-oxopyrrolen-3-yl-2]imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine

Heterocyclization of 2-chloroepoxy-1,1-diethoxy-2.3-butane with 2-amino-4-methylpyridine occurred with participation of all three potential electrophilic centers to give 3,7-dimethyl-2-[N-(4-methylpyridyl-2)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-5-oxopyrrolen-3-yl]imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine, the structure of which was determined by X-ray crystallography. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 7, 1089–1094, July 2006.     

Reactivity of electronically excited Br(2P1/2) atoms towards CH3F

The rate constants for Br(²P_1/2) and Br(²P_3/2) atoms in the reaction Br+CH₃FHBr+CH₂F in photobromination of CH₃F have been determined. Their ratio is 10^{–(2.6±0.5)} exp(10100±1000/RT) in the temperature range of 60–200 °C.

Absolute populations of argon metastable states in the plasma of an rf discharge in pure argon and an argon-silane mixture are determined.     

Organomagnesium synthesis of some organophosphorus compounds in an ether-free medium

Summary Some dialkylphosphinic acids, dialkylphosphinous esters, and alkylenebis(dialkylphosphine) P,P'-dioxides were synthesized via organomagnesium compounds prepared in absence of ether and other catalysts for the Grignard reaction.This article is published in accordance with a resolution of the Conference of Chief Editors of Journals of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR of June 12, 1962, as a dissertation paper by B. N. Strunin.     

Determination of the population of the A 3Σu electronic state of nitrogen molecules in a glow-discharge plasma

Results on determining the population of the A ³Σ_u electronic state of N₂ molecules in a gas discharge using a relatively simple spectroscopic technique are reported. The technique proposed can be used not only in pure N₂, but also in nitrogen-containing gas mixtures. The populations of the metastable and nonequilibrium B ³Π_g states of nitrogen molecules are determined. It is shown that the electron-impact excitation is a dominant mechanism for populating the B ³Π_g state.
