Indole 3-acetic acid, a plant hormone auxin, regulates every aspects of plant growth and development. In the screening for specific inhibitors on auxin signaling using the transgenic Arabidopsis plant harboring the auxin-responsive reporter gene, terfestain A was found to be a novel inhibitor of auxin signaling from the culture of Streptomyces sp. F40. The structure of terfestatin A was determined to be p-terphenyl β-glucoside on the basis of spectroscopic analyses, chemical degradation, and total synthesis. 相似文献

The osmotic pressures of –polyelectrolyte solutions without added salt was measured in the concentration ranges 0.001–0.02
and 0.2–1.9 mol kg-1. Our results show that the osmotic coefficients φp were strongly dependent on the chemical structures of polyelectrolyte through the polyion radius and the interaction between
the ionic moiety and counterions. The osmotic pressures in polyelectrolyte solutions without added salt, calculated on the
basis of the counterion contribution, are in agreement with the experimental results. We conclude that the counterion contribution
is dominant in the osmotic pressures and thus, the polymer contribution is negligible in the examined concentration range
0.2–1.9 mol kg-1. The P–B approach gave a fair prediction of the absolute values of the osmotic pressures with λ=4.5, where λ is the charge
density parameter, except for NaPA. In other words, the concentration dependence of the φp values can be explained in terms of the counterion contribution.

By alternate UV and visible light irradiation, reversible topographical changes were observed on a newly synthesized diarylethene microcrystalline surface between the rough crystalline surface of an open-ring isomer and flat eutectic surfaces. The contact angle changes of a water droplet between 80° and 150° and peak intensities changes of the open-ring isomer in XRD patterns within 2 h of repeating cycle were observed. The results indicated that reversibly photogenerated rod-shaped crystals on the surface were produced based on the lattice of the open-ring isomer crystals in the subphase. 相似文献

Fabrication of micropatterned surfaces to organize and control cell adhesion and proliferation is an indispensable technique for cell-based technologies. Although several successful strategies for creating cellular micropatterns on substrates have been demonstrated, a complex multistep process and requirements for special and expensive equipment or materials limit their prevalence as a general experimental tool. To circumvent these problems, we describe here a novel facile fabrication method for a micropatterned surface for cell patterning by utilizing the UV-induced conversion of the cell adhesive property of albumin, which is the most abundant protein in blood plasma. An albumin-coated surface was prepared by cross-linking albumin with ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether and subsequent casting of the cross-linked albumin solution on the cell culture dish. While cells did not attach to the albumin surface prepared in this way, UV exposure renders the surface cell-adhesive. Thus, surface micropatterning was achieved simply by exposing the albumin-coated surface to UV light through a mask with the desired pattern. Mouse fibroblast L929 cells were inoculated on the patterned albumin substrates, and cells attached and spread in a highly selective manner according to the UV-irradiated pattern. Although detailed investigation of the molecular-level mechanism concerning the change in cell adhesiveness of the albumin-coated surface is required, the present results would give a novel facile method for the fabrication of cell micropatterned surfaces. 相似文献

A group of B-site partially substituted strontium cobaltites Sr0.9Ca0.1Co0.9B'0.1O2.5+δ (B'=Mn, Co, Ni, In, Fe and Al) were examined for phase transformation and oxygen permeation properties. As revealed by XRD
analysis, these oxides had 2H-BaNiO3-type structure (B'=Mn, Co, Ni and In) or brownmillerite-type structure (B'=Fe and Al) and transformed into perovskite-type
structure at elevated temperatures (750 °C or above). The transformation temperature was dependent on the B-site substituent
and agreed well with the switching-on temperature of oxygen permeation for the same oxide. Due to a lowering in transformation
temperature, the Fe- or Al-doped oxide was made oxygen permeable in the lower temperature range 750–850 °C where the undoped
oxide remained non-permeable. It was also found that for a series of Fe-partially substituted samples Sr0.9Ca0.1Co1−xFexO2.5+δ the transformation temperature lowered with increasing x up to 0.1, while, for x≥0.2, perovskite-type structure tended to
be stabilized at room temperature. TGDTA analysis revealed that phase transformation was accompanied by absorption or desorption
of oxygen. Based on the correlation between the oxygen permeability and the membrane thickness, the rate-determining step
of oxygen permeation in the present system was assumed to be of the bulk diffusion of oxide ion vacancies. 相似文献
