Time-resolved infra-red stimulated luminescence (TR-IRSL) technique enables an understanding of the dynamics of trapped electrons after IR excitation in the band-tail states of feldspar. This work intends to study the underlying physical mechanism of IRSL production. TR-IRSL studies were carried out on four feldspar mineral specimens of variable chemical composition and structural state. Assuming the IR excited trapped electrons make random walks in the band-tail states and recombine by tunnelling dynamically, hopping time is derived from the OFF time data of TR-IRSL. This analysis indicates that the hopping time decreases with stimulation temperature. Using Einstein diffusion equation, hopping probability is computed and is shown to obey the equation describing variable range hopping mechanism of Mott kind. Mott's parameters (hopping length and hopping energy) are then derived. Hopping length decreases with stimulation temperature whereas hopping energy increases with temperature. The average hopping length and energy are in the range of 11–18 Å and 45–55 meV respectively and the diffusion constant is estimated to be in the range of 10?10–10?9 cm2 s?1 for all the feldspar samples.  相似文献

Time-resolved infrared-stimulated luminescence (TR-IRSL) signals from feldspar samples have been the subject of several recent experimental studies. These signals are of importance in the field of luminescence dating, since they exhibit smaller fading effects than the commonly employed continuous-wave infrared signals (CW-IRSL). This paper presents a semi-empirical analysis of TR-IRSL data from feldspar samples, by using a linear combination of exponential and stretched exponential (SE) functions. The best possible estimates of the five parameters in this semi-empirical approach are obtained using five popular commercially available software packages, and by employing a variety of global optimization techniques. The results from all types of software and from the different fitting algorithms were found to be in close agreement with each other, indicating that a global optimum solution has likely been reached during the fitting process. Four complete sets of TR-IRSL data on well-characterized natural feldspars were fitted by using such a linear combination of exponential and SE functions. The dependence of the extracted fitting parameters on the stimulation temperature is discussed within the context of a recently proposed model of luminescence processes in feldspar. Three of the four feldspar samples studied in this paper are K-rich, and these exhibited different behavior at higher stimulation temperatures, than the fourth sample which was a Na-rich feldspar. The new method of analysis proposed in this paper can help isolate mathematically the more thermally stable components, and hence could lead to better dating applications in these materials.  相似文献

Mossbauer effect studies on some natural magnetite ore samples from India are reported for the first time. Using the Mossbauer spectroscopy data, the magnetites of sedimentary origin are differentiated from those of igneous origin. The igneous magnetites are found to have a nearly stoichiometric composition. A titanium enrichment in these samples was also evidenced. The magnetites of sedimentary origin, however, have almost fully oxidized to haematite.  相似文献

Using the time differential perturbed (γ-γ) angular correlations technique (TDPAC), the hyperfine field (Hhf) at 44Sc nuclei in cobalt matrix is measured for the first time and the value obtained is HhfScCo(RT) = -58±4 KOe. Low‐potency corticosteroid betamethasone valerate and vitamin‐A tazarotene are used in combination for effective treatment of psoriasis. There is no robust high‐performance liquid chromatography analytical technique available for simultaneous estimation of betamethasone valerate and tazarotene in conventional and nanocarriers based formulations. A simple, accurate, robust isocratic high‐performance liquid chromatography method was developed for simultaneous estimation of betamethasone valerate and tazarotene in topical pharmaceutical formulations. The developed method was validated as per the regulatory guidelines. The validated method was linear over the concentration range of 150–6000 ng/mL (r2 > 0.999) at 239 nm wavelength. Limits of detection and quantification of two analytes were 50 and 150 ng/mL, respectively. The %relative standard deviation for intraday and interday precision was less than 2%. The method was also evaluated in the presence of forced degradation conditions. The developed method was successfully applied for in vitro and ex vivo drug release studies of in‐house designed nanoformulations.  相似文献

Compounds bearing thiazole and chalcone pharmacophores have been reported to possess excellent antitubercular and anticancer activities. In view of this, we designed, synthesized and characterized a novel series of thiazole–chalcone hybrids (1–20) and further evaluated them for antitubercular and antiproliferative activities by employing standard protocols. Among the twenty compounds, chalcones 12 and 7, containing 2,4-difluorophenyl and 2,4-dichlorophenyl groups, showed potential antitubercular activity higher than the standard pyrazinamide (MIC = 25.34 µM) with MICs of 2.43 and 4.41 µM, respectively. Chalcone 20 containing heteroaryl 2-thiazolyl moiety exhibited promising antiproliferative activity against the prostate cancer cell line (DU-145), higher than the standard methotrexate (IC50 = 11 ± 1 µM) with an IC50 value of 6.86 ± 1 µM. Furthermore, cytotoxicity studies of these compounds against normal human liver cell lines (L02) revealed that the target molecules were comparatively less selective against L02. Additional computational studies using AutoDock predicted the key binding interactions responsible for the activity and the SwissADME tool computed the in silico drug likeliness properties. The lead compounds generated through this study, create a way for the optimization and development of novel drugs against tuberculosis infections and prostate cancer.  相似文献

The present study examines (1) variability in the thermoluminescence (TL) emission spectrum and optical stimulation (OSL) spectrum of quartz from different provenances and, (2) possible correlations between spectral features and the nature of the complex growth curves (ranging from saturating exponential to those described by a cubic polynomial function), so as to determine the validity of the currently used experimental protocols. The results suggest that commonly used UV emission for dating constitutes only a minor component of the total quartz emission and in view of this a dose-dependent contribution from blue/blue–green emission peak to the UV detection is likely. The OSL stimulation spectrum shows a definite change in stimulation response between 500–520 nm, hence implying that stimulation in this window may contribute as an additional source of scatter in multi-grain samples.  相似文献

Feldspar contaminants in quartz aliquots, either as micro-inclusions or as remnant grains (due to inadequate etching) can affect the accuracy and precision of paleodose estimates based on blue-green light stimulated luminescence (BGSL). Such contamination could also alter the shape of the BGSL stimulation curve of otherwise pure quartz. In this study, the functional relationship between the infra-red stimulated luminescence (IRSL) and BGSL of feldspars, (1) at different preheats, and (2) with IR bleaching at different stimulation temperatures and durations, is examined. The results suggest two trap populations participate in the feldspar BGSL process. These are: (1) Type (A) trap populations that can be stimulated by both the infra-red and the blue-green light at 125°C and, (2) Type (B) trap populations that respond only to blue-green-light stimulation at 125°C. However, infra-red stimulation at elevated temperature (220°C) (ETIR) permits depletions of charges in Type (A) and Type (B) to the extent that the feldspar BGSL can be reduced by up to 97% in 5 min.

These results offer prospects for (1) improved precision in paleodose estimates based on quartz; (2) BGSL dating of quartz in a polyminerallic fine grain samples; (3) age estimates based on both quartz and feldspars from the same aliquots, and (4) dating based on feldspar micro-inclusions.  相似文献
