Charge transport is one important example of signal transduction in a protein which is responsible for action at a distance,
and is a fundamental process in biochemical action. A model is presented in which electronic effects interact with motional
processes to combine into a bifunctional model. This model is investigated with new detailed molecular dynamics calculations
and successfully explains such action at a distance.

Two-color photoionization of nickelocene molecules cooled in a supersonic jet is performed using a tunable nanosecond pulsed laser. The first stage of the multiphoton excitation is the transition from the highest occupied molecular orbital of nickelocene to the lowest Rydberg level. Conditions are found under which molecular ions (η 5-C5H5)2Ni+ are the only product of the multiphoton ionization in the one-color experiment. Irradiation of an excited molecule by an intense pulse of another laser increases significantly the yield of molecular ions. The dependence of the yield of (η5-C5H5)2Ni+ ions on the frequency of the second laser makes it possible to determine the adiabatic ionization potential of nickelocene as 6.138±0.012eV. 相似文献

Mass spectrometry is one of the most important analytical tools in chemistry, biology, medicine and related areas. During the past 30 years, methods have been developed, both for the qualitative as well as the quantitative analysis of a wide variety of substances. The introduction of lasers into chemistry has also profited mass spectrometry, since its nonlinear properties and its tunability open up fundamentally new frontiers. Multiphoton ionization mass spectrometry combines UV-spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, thus providing a two-dimensional method that enables substance-specific and even state-specific analyses. This progress report presents the fundamentals and possibilities of MUPI mass spectrometry and discusses investigations on amino acids, peptides, chlorophylls and sugars. For each substance, multiphoton ionization can be tuned in such a way that only the molecular ion is formed. An increase of laser intensity induces substance-specific fragmentations of the molecule, thus contributing to a quick and easy identification of the substance. 相似文献

Single vibronic lifetimes of two-photon excited states are measured in the low pressure limit for naphthalene. The two-photon spectrum, besides yielding new states in S1, is also free of the interference from the neighborhood of the S2, known from one-photon experiments, and hence unperturbed lifetimes can be measured to higher excess energies. The overall pattern of lifetimes with excess energy including both one-photon and two-photon states shows that the vibronic structure is subordinate to an overall monotonic decrease, much as found earlier for β-naphthylamine. This indicates, at least for naphthalene, that radiationless processes into triplets are dominated by Franck—Condon factors and not by vibronic inductions and promoting modes. 相似文献

Two-photon ionization of the nickelocene molecules cooled in a supersonic jet was performed for the first time by simultaneous excitation of (5–C5H5)2Ni with two tunable nano- second dye lasers. The one-photon transition from the HOMO to the Rydberg R4p level was used as the initial step of the multiphoton excitation. In a one-color experiment, the conditions were found for generation of the intact molecular ion, (5–C5H5)2Ni+, as the only ionic product of the multiphoton ionization. The use of an intense pulse of the second dye laser lead to an increase in the yield of the molecular ion.Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Positively charged zinc containing or metal free phthalocyanines 6a-c and 7a-c were prepared via a three step procedure starting from 4-nitrophthalonitrile. The phthalocyanines contain alkyl chains of different length in order to influence the hydrophilic vs lipophilic character of the compounds. The partition between a hydrophilic (water) and lipophilic (octanol-1) phase was determined, and the photoredox activities were investigated. Initial results on the photodynamic activity of these compounds were compared with those of Dougherty's Photofrin II on different malignant and non-malignant cell lines (XP 29MAmal, CX1, HeLa, S180 and NO17). Positively charged phthalocyanines in vitro showed a higher photodynamic activity than Photofrin II. 相似文献

Enamines 8a-e could be chlorinated by equimolar amounts of N-chlorosuccinimide (9) generating monochloroenamines 10a-e; 10a and 10d were isolated as pure substances. Two equivalents of 9 afforded the dichloroenamines 12a,c from 8a,c. Interaction of the chlorinated enamines 10a-e and 12a,c with cyanide gave morpholino-azabicyclohexane derivatives. 10a-d, thereby, led to exo-cyano-isomers lla-c; 12a,c generated endo-cyano compounds 13a,c. In the case of the ethoxycarbonylated chloroenamine 10e a mixture of diastereomeric products 11e and 14e resulted from the analogous reaction. Reduction of 11a and 14e with lithium aluminum hydride produced a pair of diastereomeric triamines 15 and 16. A tricyclic diazasystem 19 was formed from the reaction of cyanide with the carbamoylated chloroenamine 18. Monochloroenamine 10a and dichloroenamine 12a showed a significant mutagenic behaviour in the Ames test. 相似文献
