We prove a factorization result for relatively compact subsets of compact operators using the Bartle and Graves Selection Theorem, a characterization of relatively compact subsets of tensor products due to Grothendieck, and results of Figiel and Johnson on factorization of compact operators. A further proof, essentially based on the Banach-Dieudonné Theorem, is included. Our methods enable us to give an easier proof of a result of W.H. Graves and W.M. Ruess.

The Finite Cell Method (FCM) combines the fictitious domain approach with high-order finite elements and adaptive integration. For linear elastic problems with smooth solution, FCM has been shown to achieve exponential rates of convergence in energy norm, while its structured cell grid guarantees simple mesh generation irrespective of the geometric complexity involved. In this contribution, the FCM idea is combined with standard finite element technology for the solution of geometrically nonlinear problems. In particular, a modified FCM formulation is introduced, which resets the deformed configuration of the fictitious domain to the deformation-free reference configuration after each Newton iteration. Numerical experiments show that this intervention allows for stable nonlinear FCM analysis with very small values of the penalty parameter, while the accuracy of the geometrically nonlinear solution within the physical domain remains unaffected. Zusammenfassung Nach feinstem Mahlen in der Kolloidmühle und Suspendierung in Xylol mit demArdenneschen Vibrator konnten von der Gasadsorptionskohle Degea 106, der Pulverkohle Norit-Supra und einer selbsthergestellten Zuckerkohle elektronenmikroskopische Aufnahmen erhalten werden, die erstmalig guten Einblick in die Mikroporenstruktur von Aktivkohlen gestatten.Das Elektronenmikroskop bestätigt die bisherigen Annahmen, daß die Durchmesser der Mikroporen etwa in der Größenordnung von 10–7 cm liegen, und zeigt deutlich den Unterschied in Kornform und Porenstruktur zwischen der Gasadsorptionskohle und der zum Reinigen von Flüssigkeiten bestimmten Pulverkohle auf.Die Wirkung der Aktivierung von Aktivkohlen durch langsames Abbrennen im CO2-Strom bei etwa 950° wird durch die elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchung direkt sichtbar. Besonders schön wird die Aktivierung der aus Saccharose hergestellten Zuckerkohle, die vorher bei 1300° verkokt worden war, im Elektronenmikroskop erkannt.Mit 3 Abbildungen. 相似文献

We present a general principle of linearized stability at an equilibrium point for the Cauchy problem , for an -accretive, possibly multivalued, operator in a Banach space , that has a linear 'resolvent-derivative' . The result is applied to derive linearized stability results for the case of under 'minimal' differentiability assumptions on the operators and at the equilibrium point, as well as for partial differential delay equations.
