Self-organized ZnAl2O4 nanostructures with the appearance (in SEM) of high aspect ratio horizontal nanowires are grown on uncatalysed c-sapphire by vapour phase transport. The nanostructures grow as three equivalent crystallographic variants on c-sapphire. Raman and cathodoluminescence spectroscopy confirm that the nanostructures are not ZnO and TEM shows that they are the cubic spinel, zinc aluminate, ZnAl2O4, formed by the reaction of Zn and O with the sapphire substrate.  相似文献

In the present communication, we report the studies concerning liquid–liquid–solid equilibria for the ternary system sodium thiosulphate (Na2S2O3) + ethanol + water at ambient pressure and at room temperature (303 ± 2 K). The solubility data of Na2S2O3 are reported for solutions in water, ethanol and solutions of varying concentrations of ethanol in water. The phase diagram for the said system is developed, described and compared with similar system K2CO3 + methanol + water. These results have been explained in terms of structural properties of aqueous ethanol solutions and further discussed in terms of the effect of ions to cause phase separation.  相似文献

The present study provides a molecular understanding of the origin of the chirality in aqueous micelles and its correlation with the proficiency of stereoselective ketone reduction. The effects of varied headgroup architecture on the surface-active properties as well as on other microstructural parameters were studied and correlated to the structural differences of these naturally occurring amino acid containing surfactants (1-4). Micropolarity sensed by pyrene showed that the micelles prepared using 1-4 are mostly hydrated; particularly large headgroup size surfactant produces more polar environment. A theoretical study was done to quantify the varied spatial dissymmetry for all four surfactants. Asymmetric reduction of prochiral ketones was carried out at the aqueous micellar interface of these chiral amphiphiles by exploiting the supramolecular chirality as evidenced from a circular dichroism study. The enantioselectivity of the reduction process is rationally improved through increase in spatial dissymmetry and steric constraint imposed at the micellar interface by the polar head of surfactants.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition kinetics of Pr2(SO4)3 to Pr2O2SO4 have been studied by isothermal weight change determination. The reaction was found to obey a linear law up to α = 0.5; beyond α = 0.5 it could be described as a phase-boundary controlled process. A dependence of the activation energy upon the sample weight was observed. The changes in surface area and density which occur during the decomposition are also given.  相似文献

Development of simple and reliable protocols for the synthesis of organically soluble catalytically active metal nanoparticles is an important aspect of research in nanomaterials. We demonstrate herein the formation of Pd nanoparticles by reduction of aqueous Pd(NO(3))(2) by photoexcited Keggin ions (phosphotungstate anions). This results in the formation of Pd nanoparticles capped with with Keggin ions that render the particles negatively charged. The Keggin ion capped Pd nanoparticles may then be phase transferred into nonpolar organic solvents such as toluene by electrostatic complexation with cationic surfactants such as octadecylamine at the liquid-liquid interface. This results in a new class of catalyst wherein both the Pd core and Keggin ion shell may be used in a range of catalytic reactions leading to a truly multifunctional catalyst dispersible in organic solvents.  相似文献

Synthesis and Properties of 2′O-t-Butyldimethylsilyl-5′-O-monomethoxytritylribonucleoside-3′-phosphotriesters, Starting Materials for Oligonucleotide Syntheses The syntheses of two types of fully blocked ribonucleoside 3′-phosphotriesters 6–14 have been achieved in excellent yields from 2′-O-t-butyldimethylsilyl-5′-O-monomethoxytrityl-ribonucleosides 1–5 by phosphorylation with 2-chloro- and 2,5-dichlorophenylphosphorodichloridate respectively and subsequent treatment by cyanoethanol to 6 , 8 , 10 , 12 and 14 and by p-nitrophenylethanol to 7 , 9 , 11 and 13 . These phosphotriesters are valuable starting materials for oligonucleotide syntheses due to the fact that the corresponding phosphotriesters 15–23 with free HO? C(5′) could be obtained by detritylation and the 3′-phosphodiester triethylammonium salts 24–32 by deblocking of the cyanoethyl and the 2,5-dichlorophenyl group respectively. All newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by UV.-and NMR.-spectra as well as C, H, N elementary analyses.  相似文献

Recently an inorganic fullerine-like [As@Ni(12)@As(20)](3-) onion with near-perfect icosahedral symmetry in the crystalline phase was reported [M. J. Moses, J. C. Fettinger, and B. W. Eichhorn, Science 300, 778 (2003)]. This paper presents a detailed computational study in the framework of density functional theory on various aspects of this molecule. The electronic structure of the As@Ni(12)@As(20) is investigated in its neutral as well as -3 charged state together with its subunits As(20) and As@Ni(12) by the all electron linear combination of Gaussian-type orbitals method. The bonding is studied by examining the integrated charge within atomic sphere, the electron localization function, changes in the electron density distribution, and from vibrational modes. We find that strong covalent As-As bonds seen in isolated As(20) become weaker in the As@Ni(12)@As(20) and strong covalent As-Ni bonds are formed. The structural stability of all four clusters is examined by analyzing the energetics and by calculating the vibrational frequencies. Further, the infrared and Raman spectra is predicted for both the neutral and charged As@Ni(12)@As(20) clusters. Finally, the energy barrier for removal of a single arsenic atom is calculated for the neutral As@Ni(12)@As(20) cluster.  相似文献

In this review, the applications of beta galactosidase complementation are described. alpha Complementation is a naturally occurring process in bacteria and in engineered cells, and can also occur in eukaryotic cells. Two forms of alpha complementation have been used in high throughput screening (HTS), in which interacting fragments complement with either low or high affinity. Low affinity complementation is used to monitor protein protein interactions, such as those occurring in homodimerization of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and provides a robust screen for detection of EGFR inhibitors. High affinity complementation provides the basis for several HTS assays, in which analytes, such as cAMP or IP(3), are detected in crude cell lysates. A development of the latter approach is protein labeling, providing for measurement of cell protein expression and trafficking. Collectively, the use of beta galactosidase complementation provides a novel and flexible technology for highly sensitive, homogeneous HTS assay development.  相似文献

Interactions of various fluorinated and nonfluorinated alcohols with trans-stilbene in the presence of electrophilic reagents were studied. Under neat conditions, reactions of trans-stilbene (1) with fluorinated alcohols, R(f)OH (R(f) = CF3CH2-, CFH2CH2-, CF3CF2CH2-, CF2H(CF2)3CH2-, (CF3)2CH-, (CF3)3C- (2a-f) in the presence of an electrophilic reagent, 1-(chloromethyl)-4-fluoro-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bis(tetrafluoroborate) (Selectfluor) or N,N-difluoro-2,2'-bipyridinium bis(tetrafluoroborate) (MEC-31), gave alpha-keto ethers (3a-f) and benzil (4) in good to moderate yields. alpha-Keto ether and benzil formation was very much dependent on the reaction time, the degree of fluorination of the alcohols, and whether a solvent such as CH3CN, DMF or DMA was utilized. In solution, alpha-keto ethers and benzil did not form. Interestingly, under neat conditions, nonfluorinated alcohols, ROH (R = CH3-, CH3CH2-, CH3CH2CH2-, CH3CH2CH2CH2-, CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2-) (5g-k) did not react with trans-stilbene in the presence of MEC-31 but gave 6,6'-dialkoxy-2,2'-bipyridines (6g-k), regioselectively, in excellent isolated yields. On the other hand, fluorinated alcohols did not react with MEC-31. Reaction of MEC-31 with an excess of diethylene glycol (7) gave the bipyridine derivative (8) in 88% isolated yield. Reaction of 8 either with diethylaminosulfur trifluoride (DAST) or bis(2-methoxyethyl)aminosulfur trifluoride (Deoxofluor) readily produced the corresponding difluoro derivative (9) in 85% isolated yield. All new compounds have been characterized by spectroscopic and elemental analysis.  相似文献
