The automorphism group of a classical mechanical system withn degrees of freedom is in a natural way a Lie group of dimension at most \(\frac{1}{2}\) (n+1) (n+2). Systems whose automorphism group has this maximal dimension are classified as follows. If the system is simply connected, it is a damped harmonic oscillator with equation of motion \(\ddot x^i = \lambda x^i + \varrho \dot x^i \) . If not, it is obtained from such an oscillator with γ=0 and λ<0 by passing to the quotient with respect to the infinite cyclic group generated by $$t \to t + l\pi /\sqrt { - \lambda ,} x^i \to ( - 1)^l x^i $$ for some positive integerl.

Zusammenfassung Die Analyse hochprozentigen Flußspats wird in ihrer derzeitigen Ausführungsform beschrieben. Nach Beseitigung carbonatischer Begleiter durch eine Behandlung mit verd. Essigsäure wird die Kieselsäure entweder mit Flußsäure verflüchtigt und aus dem Gewichtsverlust bestimmt oder in einer gesonderten, mit Soda aufgeschlossenen Probe als Tetrapyridiniumdodecamolybdatosilicat gefällt und als SiO₂ + 12 MoO₃ ausgewogen. Der Bariumsulfatgehalt wird nach Verflüchtigung der Kieselsäure durch Abrauchen des verbleibenden Rückstandes mit Schwefelsäure und anschließendes Kochen mit verd. Salzsäure/Schwefelsäure in der üblichen Art ermittelt. Im Filtrat der Bariumsulfatfällung wird Calcium nach Abtrennung oder Maskierung der dreiwertigen Begleiter als Oxalat gefällt und zum Oxid verglüht oder direkt durch eine photometrische Titration mit ÄDTA bestimmt. Der kleine Sulfidschwefelgehalt in Flußspat wird durch Säure als Schwefelwasserstoff ausgetrieben, als Cadmiumsulfid gebunden und anschließend jodometrisch bestimmt.Für Kieselsäure, Bariumsulfat und Calciumfluorid ergibt die Fehlerrechnung Standardabweichungen von ^s SiO₂=0.04%; sBaSO₄=±0,04%; sCaF₂=±0,09%.

Summary The present form of the analysis of high-percentage fluorspar is described. After removal of accompanying carbonates by treatment with dilute acetic acid, the silica is either volatilized with hydrofluoric acid and determined from the loss of weight or precipitated in a separate sample, decomposed with sodium carbonate, as tetrapyridinium dodecamolybdatosilicate and weighed as SiO₂ + 12 MoO₃. After volatilization of silica the remaining residue is fumed with sulphuric acid, boiled with a dilute hydrochloric/sulphuric acid mixture and the barium sulphate determined gravimetrically. In the filtrate of the barium sulphate precipitation the trivalent elements are either separated or masked. Then calcium is precipitated as oxalate and weighed after conversion to the oxide or directly determined by photometric titration with EDTA. After conversion to hydrogensulphide, the small sulphide-sulphur content in fluorspar is bound as cadmium sulphide and determined iodometrically.The error calculation results in the following standard deviations for silica, barium sulphate, and calcium fluoride: ^s SiO₂=0.04%; sBaSO₄=±0,04%; sCaF₂=±0,09%.

Die Brauchbarkeit von PbClF und PbBrF zur Fluorbestimmung in technischen Fluoriden

Zusammenfassung PbClF und PbBrF werden bezüglich ihrer Fällungsbedingungen und Eignung zur Fluoridbestimmung verglichen.Für reine Lösungen sind bei Einhaltung bestimmter Fällungsbedingungen beide Methoden gleich gut geeignet. Bei der Fällung aus silicathaltigen Probelösungen, wie sie bei der Fluorbestimmung in technischen Fluoriden anfallen, liefert die PbClF-Fällung positive Fehler, während man über PbBrF sehr gute Werte erhält.Eine Arbeitsvorschrift für die Fluorbestimmung in Aluminiumfluorid und Kyrolith nach der Bleibromidfluoridmethode ist angegeben.

Summary PbClF and PbBrF have been compared with respect to their precipitation conditions and their suitability for the determination of fluoride.For pure solutions, if certain precipitation conditions are adhered to, both methods are equally well suitable. When precipitating from silicate-containing sample solutions, as they are obtained when fluorine is determined in technical fluorides, the PbClF precipitations yields positive errors, while very good values are obtained with PbBrF.A working procedure is given for the determination of fluorine in aluminium fluoride and cryolite by the lead bromide fluoride method.

In Vivo Endoscopic Tissue Identification by Rapid Evaporative Ionization Mass Spectrometry (REIMS)

Gastrointestinal cancers are a leading cause of mortality, accounting for 23 % of cancer‐related deaths worldwide. In order to improve outcomes from these cancers, novel tissue characterization methods are needed to facilitate accurate diagnosis. Rapid evaporative ionization mass spectrometry (REIMS) is a technique developed for the in vivo classification of human tissue through mass spectrometric analysis of aerosols released during electrosurgical dissection. This ionization technique was further developed by utilizing surface induced dissociation and was integrated with an endoscopic polypectomy snare to allow in vivo analysis of the gastrointestinal tract. We tested the classification performance of this novel endoscopic REIMS method in vivo. It was shown to be capable of differentiating between healthy layers of the intestinal wall, cancer, and adenomatous polyps based on the REIMS fingerprint of each tissue type in vivo.

The acetamidine 5a is accessible either from the N-cyanoimidate 1 and β-aminopropionitrile ( 3a ) or the N-cyanoamidine 2 and acrylonitrile ( 4 ). The dihydropyrimidine 8a is easily converted to 4-amino-2-methyl-5-pyrimidine-carbonitrile ( 13 ) by dehydrogenation or to 4-amino-5-aminomethyl-2-methylpyrimidine ( 15 ) by hydrogenation-dehydrogenation. Both products are important intermediates in the synthesis of thiamine.
