Poly(vinylpyridine) complexes of palladium as hydrogenation catalysts. Effect of polymeric ligand structure

The title complexes exhibit high catalytic activity, selectivity and stability in hydrogenation of allyl alcohol. The structure of a polymeric ligand (i.e. the position of the nitrogen atom in the pyridine ring) affects catalyst activity. According to the hydrogenation rates of allyl alcohol, the complexes studied are arranged in the sequence: P4VP-Pd>P2VP-Pd>P2M5VP-Pd.

Applications of Smolyak quadrature formulas to the numerical integration of Fourier coefficients and in function recovery problems

In this paper with the help of Smolyak quadrature formulas we calculate exact orders of errors of the numerical integration of trigonometric Fourier coefficients of functions from generalized classes of Korobov and Sobolev types. We apply the obtained results to the recovery of functions from their values at a finite number of points in terms of the K. Sherniyazov approach.     

On homogeneity and small extensions of models of the theory of linear ordering

Some properties concerning homogeneity and the existence of small extensions proved earlier for models of superstable theories, are proved here for models of the theory of linear ordering.     

Hydroethoxycarbonylation of α-olefins at low pressure of carbon(II) oxide in the presence of the PdCl<Subscript>2</Subscript>(PPh<Subscript>3</Subscript>)<Subscript>2</Subscript>–PPh<Subscript>3</Subscript>–AlCl<Subscript>3</Subscript> system

High catalytic activity of the PdCl₂(PPh₃)₂–PPh₃–AlCl₃ system containing AlCl3 as promotor has been demonstrated in the reaction of hydroethoxycarbonylation of hexene-1 and octene-1 at low pressure of carbon(II) oxide (≤25 atm). The reaction yields linear and branched products. The optimal conditions of the process have been elaborated. The target products yield is 84.6–93.8%.     

Facially Symmetric Spaces and Predual Ones of Hermitian Part of von Neumann Algebras

We prove that predual of real part of von Neumann algebra is strongly facially symmetric space if and only if is it a direct sum of Abelian algebra and algebra of I₂ type. At that, neutral strongly facially symmetric space is predual to Abelian algebra, only.
