We formulate new optimal quadratic spline collocation methods for the solution of various elliptic boundary value problems
in the unit square. These methods are constructed so that the collocation equations can be solved using a matrix decomposition
algorithm. The results of numerical experiments exhibit the expected optimal global accuracy as well as superconvergence phenomena.

This paper deals with the spectral element discretization
of the Navier-Stokes equations in a disk with discontinuous
boundary data, which is known as the driven cavity problem.
The numerical treatment does not involve any
regularization of these data. Relying on a variational
formulation in the primitive variables of
velocity and pressure, we describe a discretization of these equations and
derive error estimates in appropriate weighted Sobolev spaces.
We propose an algorithm to solve the
nonlinear discrete system and present numerical experiments to verify its

We investigate the use of the Method of Fundamental Solutions (MFS) for solving Stokes flow problems with a free surface. We apply the method to the creeping planar Newtonian extrudate-swell problem and study the effect of the surface tension on the free surface. On propose une méthode spectrale pour la discrétisation
d'équations elliptiques dans une portion de disque, par passage en coordonnées polaires et
approximation par des polyn?mes de degréélevé par rapport à chaque coordonnée. On
décrit la discrétisation pour deux problèmes modèle: l'équation de Poisson et
l'équation du bilaplacien, on en effectue l'analyse et on présente des
résultats numériques.

We propose matrix decomposition algorithms for the efficient solution of the linear systems arising from Kansa radial basis function discretizations of elliptic boundary value problems in regular polygonal domains. These algorithms exploit the symmetry of the domains of the problems under consideration which lead to coefficient matrices possessing block circulant structures. In particular, we consider the Poisson equation, the inhomogeneous biharmonic equation, and the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Navier equations of elasticity. One of the main difficulties in the application of the method of
fundamental solutions (MFS) is the determination of the position of
the pseudo-boundary on which are placed the singularities in terms
of which the approximation is expressed. In this work, we propose a
simple practical algorithm for determining an estimate of the
pseudo-boundary which yields the most accurate MFS approximation
when the method is applied to certain boundary value problems.

This paper describes a method for the numerical solution of a Riabouchinsky cavity flow. Application of a boundary element method leads to a system of non-linear equations. The mild singularity appearing at the separation point is treated with the introduction of a curved boundary element, which satisfies the exact behaviour of the free boundary in that neighbourhood. 相似文献
