Four series of new [1]benzothieno[3,2- b ][1]benzothiophene derivatives have been synthesized. In the non-chiral series a SmA phase occurs, while the chiral series exhibits a rather wide antiferroelectric SmC * A phase just below the SmA phase. The SmA-SmC * A phase transition has been studied using DSC and dielectric spectroscopy. In the SmC * A phase the spontaneous quantities have been measured. The tilt angle shows a typical temperature dependence and the values of spontaneous polarization are rather moderate. The length of the helical pitch increases on increasing the length of the non-chiral alkyl chain. 相似文献

A simple and rapid capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) method for the determination of aristolochic acid (AA) in dietary
supplements and selected herbs is described. A clear separation of AA from other sample constituents was achieved within 5
minutes without any sample clean up. A mixture of 20 mM-morpholinethanesulphonic acid+10 mM-BisTrisPropane+0.2% hydroxyethylcelullose
in 10% methanol serves as a background electrolyte. The linearity, accuracy, intra-assay and detection limit of the developed
method are 200–6000 ng/mL, 95–103%, 3.5%, and 50 ng/ml, respectively. Ease of use, sufficient sensitivity and low running

Novel pH-sensitive hydrogels containing azoaromatic crosslinks were synthesized by the crosslinking of polymeric precursors. First, a reactive polymeric precursor was synthesized by copolymerization of N,N-dimethylacrylamide, N-tert-butylacrylamide, acrylic acid, and N-methacryloylglycylglycine p-nitrophenyl ester. The hydrogel was prepared in the second step by the reaction of the polymeric precursor with N,N′-(ω-aminocaproyl)-4,4′-diaminoazobenzene. The hydrogels were characterized by the network structure, (that is, content of crosslinks, unreacted pendent groups, and cycles), the equilibrium swelling ratio as a function of pH, modulus of elasticity in compression, and the degradability in vitro. The results obtained indicated that the hydrogel network structure strongly depends on the reaction conditions such as polymer concentration, and the ratio of the reactive groups during the crosslinking reaction. The swelling and mechanical properties of hydrogels can be controlled by the modification of polymer backbone structure and/or the crosslinking density. The rates of hydrogel degradation depended on their degree of swelling. The higher the degree of swelling, the higher the degradability. The properties of the hydrogels suggest that they have a potential as carriers for colon-specific drug delivery. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

Oxolane was fluoroalkylated by its photoadditions under atmospheric pressure. Monofluoro-alkylations were carried out with hexafluoropropene (1) and perfluorovinyl ethers C3F7O-[CF(CF3)CF2O]n-CF = CF2 (24, n = 0–2) by direct photoexcitation of the olefins to give high yields of addition products 9–12 (81–94%). The reactions were completely regioselecti ve at the oxolane molecule and almost completely regioselective (93–99%) at the double bond of fluoro-olefins; no bis-fluoroalkylated oxolanes were detected. The completely selective introduction of a second fluoroalkyl into position 5 of the oxolane molecule was accomplished by acetone-sensitised photoaddition of 2fluoroalkylated oxolanes 9,10 to fluoro-olefins 1 and 2. Byproducts from reactions of the dimethylketyl radical which is formed in the initiation step were isolated and have given some evidence about the reaction mechanism that is discussed. 相似文献

A series of flavin–cyclodextrin conjugates has been prepared and tested in the enantioselective oxidations of prochiral aromatic and aliphatic sulfides with hydrogen peroxide. The newly prepared conjugates contain isoalloxazinium or alloxazinium moieties attached to the primary rim of α- and β-cyclodextrins at the C-6 positions. In addition, flavinium units were attached to the secondary rim of the β-cyclodextrin macrocycle. The relationship between the structural features and the catalytic performance of the conjugates, including those recently reported by us, was analyzed. The rate and enantioselectivity of the sulfoxidations catalyzed by flavin–cyclodextrin conjugates are influenced mainly by the size of the cyclodextrin cavity, the type of flavin unit (alloxazine or isoalloxazine), and by the relative orientation of the flavin and cyclodextrin moieties. 相似文献

Several series of new benzofused thieno[3,2‐b]furan‐ and thieno[3,2‐b]thiophene‐based derivatives have been synthesized and their mesomorphic properties investigated. All the studied compounds exhibit a SmC* phase with very wide temperature interval. Additionally, some types of the compounds show the cholesteric, SmA or blue phase. A new type of calixarene-based receptor designed for the recognition of chiral anions was prepared by the introduction of (S)-2-methylbutan-1-ol moieties into the lower rim of calixarene. The immobilization of calixarene skeleton in the 1,3-alternate conformation enabled the construction of a cavity consisting of preorganised ureido functions and chiral substituents in close proximity. It is essential to understand cellular responses on photodynamic therapy (PDT) to design delivery systems that maximize cytotoxic effects coupled with minimal induction of side effects or protective mechanisms (or both). Here, we investigated mechanisms of toxicity in human ovarian carcinoma A2780 cells treated with structurally diverse N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide (HPMA) copolymer (P)-mesochlorin e6 monoethylenediamine (Mce6) conjugates that possessed differential subcellular accumulation or covalent attachments of photosensitizers (or both). Apoptosis and necrosis were observed after photoactivation, with increased apoptotic responses observed in cells exposed to conjugates possessing Mce6 linkage via a lysosomally degradable tetrapeptide spacer (HPMA copolymer-Mce6 conjugates containing Mce6 bound via glycylphenylalanylleucylglycine [GFLG] linker [P-GFLG-Mce6], HPMA copolymer-Mce6 conjugates containing Mce6 bound via a GFLG spacer and containing nuclear localization sequence, PKKKRKV132K(FITC)C [NLS(fluorescein-5-isothiocyanate [FITC])] bound via a thioether linkage [P-NLS(FITC)-GFLG-Mce6]). Furthermore, the induction of necrosis was more pronounced in cells exposed to conjugates containing both a nuclear localization sequence (NLS) and Mce6 bound by a degradable linker (P-NLS(FITC)-GFLG-Mce6). Caspase-independent mechanisms of cell death were identified in cells treated with nuclear-targeted conjugates possessing Mce6 attached using a nondegradable tether (HPMA copolymer-Mce6 conjugates containing Mce6 bound via a GG spacer and containing NLS(FITC) bound via a thioether linkage [P-NLS(FITC)-GG-Mce6]), whereas low levels of apoptosis and necrosis were detected in cells exposed to photoactivated nontargeted HPMA copolymer-Mce6 conjugates containing Mce6 coupled through a nondegradable spacer (HPMA copolymer-Mce6 conjugates containing Mce6 bound via GG linker [P-GG-Mce6]). Variations in gene expression were observed in cells on PDT. Specifically, HSP70 expression was solely detected in cells treated with P-GFLG-Mce6, whereas the loss of detection of several genes were observed in cells treated with P-NLS(FITC)-GFLG-Mce6. Variations in cellular responses on PDT using different HPMA copolymer-Mce6 conjugates will prove useful in the design of optimal HPMA copolymer PDT delivery systems. 相似文献
