This paper is concerned with the influence of capital market laws and initial public offering (IPO) process on venture capital. It discusses the impact of US federal state laws and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations to the venture capital markets, arguing if the rules and regulatories are burdensome to entrepreneurs and new-growth businesses. The impact of Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the future Investment Act on venture capital funds and entrepreneurial companies going public are also discussed. The paper proposes the model of venture capital financing describing the process from fund raising to investment exits, the linkages of the venture capital market to the financial/capital markets and the related capital market laws. The policy implications on SEC regulations essential to the development of venture capital industry are suggested.  相似文献

Amylomaltase catalyzes the formation of large-ring cyclodextrins (LR-CDs) from starch. This study aims to construct the recombinant amylomaltase from Corynebacterium glutamicum and to characterize the purified enzyme with the emphasis on the profile of LR-CDs production. A novel amylomaltase from Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032 was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) using the expression vector pET-19b. The open reading frame of amylomaltase gene of 2,121 bp (encoding the polypeptide of 706 amino acid residues) was obtained with the N-terminal His-tag fragment of 69 bp attached before the start codon of the amylomaltase gene. The deduced amino acid sequence showed a low sequence identity (20?C25%) to those thermostable amylomaltases from Thermus sp. The maximum enzyme activity was obtained when the recombinant cells were cultured at 37 °C for 2 h after induction with 0.4 mM isopropyl thio-??-D-galactoside (IPTG). The enzyme was 11-fold purified with a yield of 30% by a HiTrap affinity column. The purified amylomaltase showed a single band of 84 kDa on a 7.5% SDS-PAGE. When the enzyme acted on pea starch, it catalyzed an intramolecular transglucosylation (cyclization) reaction that produced LR-CDs or cycloamyloses (CA). The product profile was dependent on the incubation time and the enzyme concentration. Shorter incubation time gave larger LR-CDs as principal products. At 4 h incubation, the product was composed of a mixture of LR-CDs in the range of CD19?CCD50, with CD27?C28 as products with highest amount. It is noted that CD19 was the smallest product in all conditions tested. The enzyme also catalyzes intermolecular transglucosylation on various malto-oligosaccharides, with maltose as the smallest substrate.  相似文献

Abstract  Comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and quantum chemical calculations were performed on cycloguanil (Cyc) derivatives of the wild type and the quadruple mutant (Asn51Ile, Cys59Arg, Ser108Asn, Ile164Leu) of Plasmodium falciparum dihydrofolate reductase (PfDHFR). The represented CoMFA models of wild type ( and r 2 = 0.985) and mutant type ( and r 2 = 0.979) can describe the differences of the Cyc structural requirements for the two types of PfDHFR enzymes and can be useful to guide the design of new inhibitors. Moreover, the obtained particular interaction energies between the Cyc and the surrounding residues in the binding pocket indicated that Asn108 of mutant enzyme was the cause of Cyc resistance by producing steric clash with p-Cl of Cyc. Consequently, comparing the energy contributions with the potent flexible WR99210 inhibitor, it was found that the key mutant residue, Asn108, demonstrates attractive interaction with this inhibitor and some residues, Leu46, Ile112, Pro113, Phe116, and Leu119, seem to perform as second binding site with WR99210. Therefore, quantum chemical calculations can be useful for investigating residue interactions to clarify the cause of drug resistance. This research work has concerned a study on toughness of PVC/natural rubber (NR) blends compatibilized with epoxidized natural rubber (ENR). The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of degree of epoxidation on morphology and mechanical properties of the blends. Epoxidized natural rubber with a variety of epoxidation contents were prepared by reacting the NR latex with formic acid and hydrogen peroxide at various chemical contents. Chemical structure and epoxidation content of epoxidized natural rubber were evaluated by FTIR and 1H-NMR techniques. After that, three grades of ENR with epoxidation contents of 15, 25 and 42 % (by mole) were further used for blending with PVC and NR in an internal mixer at 60 rpm and at 170 °C. From tensile and impact tests, it was found that tensile elongation and impact strength of the materials remarkably increased with degree of epoxidation. On the other hand, tensile strength and modulus of the materials rarely changed with the epoxidation content. An increase in toughness of the blends with epoxidation content was related to a better molecular interaction between PVC and ENR as suggested by torque-time curves of the materials.  相似文献
