An overview is presented of the analytical approaches developed by our research group over the last ten years for analysis of alternative fuel, both biomass and fossil. The alternative fuels are analyzed successively by PLC-8 (preparative liquid chromatography–group-type) fractionation and high resolution gas chromatography. Some of the possibilities for fractionation and characterization of alternative fuels are herein exemplified with sugar cane bagasse pyrolysis products.  相似文献

The effects of temperature and solvent density on the characteristics of the extracts obtained from supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of the volatile compounds from Brazilian rosemary (Rosamarinus officianalis L., Labiatae) using carbon dioxide (CO2) as solvent were investigated. The experiments were performed in a semi-batch laboratory scale home-made unit at two temperatures, viz. 310.15 and 320.15 K, over the pressure range of 100-160 bar. This study allowed to determine the crossover point and the maximum solubility of the oil. The products were analyzed by HRGC-MS, and compounds grouped in three different classes according to their molecular mass distribution in order to evaluate the influence of the variables studied on the characteristics of the extracts. The model proposed by Sovová was adopted in an attempt to interpret the mass transfer phenomena in the extraction process.  相似文献

The acetogenins are strongly bioactive natural compounds present in the bark, roots, leaves, and seeds of manyAnnonaceae plants. They are modified fatty acids and their cytotoxicities have been determined for different biological models including the in vitro growth inhibition of several human cancer cell lines. Very low acetogenin yield (< 0.1 g%) has been found previously in native phytobiomass, and we have now investigated the nonpredatory exploitation of the seeds as acetogenin sources characterizing the seed triacylglycerols (dominant fraction; > 90% of the whole lipid extracts) as potential valuable by-products.  相似文献

This article addresses research related to the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning of mathematics in Brazil. Its scope is limited to the context of school mathematics and, more specifically, to an ongoing research programme which involves the development of collaborative research partnerships with teachers of mathematics. The paper begins with a brief presentation of the introduction of computers into the Brazilian educational scenario in the 1980s, highlighting how computer technology was heralded as a key to permitting new pedagogical approaches appropriate to the constructivist philosophy of that time. It goes on to consider recent developments in the theoretical frameworks used to interpret mathematics learning in the presence of digital technologies and the importance of focusing on the learning system as a whole, considering epistemological, cognitive and pedagogic dimensions concomitantly. In this vein, it is argued that for any real integration to take place, the mathematical practices afforded by digital tools must be considered legitimate by all the actors in this process and, perhaps most notably, by teachers. The rest of the paper focuses on our approaches to involve teachers in making decisions about technology use in their own classrooms. The strategy used was based on the realisation of research activities underpinned by the idea of the collaborative design of learning situations and the goal of including the wide diversity of learners that characterises Brazilian mathematics classrooms.  相似文献

The biodegradation of the organophosphorus insecticide methyl parathion (MP) in aqueous environment by bacteria isolated from river sediment has been studied. Two species of bacteria which show strong MP degradation ability are identified as Shewanella and Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The biodegradation of MP proceeded rapidly with the formation of a series of intermediate products, which were analyzed using a combination of GC/MS and HPLC/ESI-TOFMS techniques. The major products tentatively identified include a series of reduced products of MP. Results demonstrate that the coupling of TOFMS to HPLC enhances further the capability of LC-MS in the identification of polar organic species in complex environmental samples. Degradation pathways leading to the formation of these products are proposed which involves first the reduction of nitro to amino group in MP, followed by combination with some intrinsic matters of bacteria. The mechanism and products from biodegradation are quite different from those of photocatalytic process for which the main intermediates included methyl paraoxon and 4-nitrophenol.  相似文献

Free amino acids, the key quality components of tea, are contained in higher amounts in higher grade teas. Among free amino acids in tea, the content of theanine, which is the amino acid of the highest amount, shows high correlation to the price of green tea. A capillary isotachophoresis (CITP) method was developed for the analysis of L-theanine in tea and food supplements. The optimized electrolyte system was following: 0.01 mol/l HCl + 0.02 mol/l TRIS + 0.05% HEC (leading electrolyte), 0.01 mol/L-valine + barium hydroxide to pH 10 (terminating electrolyte). Good separation of L-theanine from other components of sample was achieved within 20 min. Method characteristics, i.e., linearity (0–200 mg/l), accuracy (99 ± 2 %), intra-assay (1.5 %), quantification limit (2 mg/l), and detection limit (0.7 mg/l) were determined. Sufficient sensitivity, low labouriousness (extraction only) and low running cost are important attributes of this method. It was proved that the developed method is suitable for the routine analysis of L-theanine in green tea and food supplements containing green tea extract.  相似文献

The relationship between electric charge at a material surface and protein adsorption is essential to understand the mechanism of biological integration of materials with tissues. This study investigated the influence of titanium thin films' surface chemistry and surface electric charge (zeta-potential) properties on protein adsorption and cell proliferation. Titanium thin films were surface functionalized with different functional end groups, such as -CH=CH2, -NH2 and -COOH groups in order to produce surfaces with a variety of electric charge properties. The chemical compositions, electric charges and wettability were investigated by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), zeta-potential measurements and water contact angle measurements, respectively. XPS revealed the surface functionalization of titanium films with -CH=CH2, -NH2, and -COOH groups, which were converted from -CH=CH2 groups. Ti-COOH samples showed the lowest water contact angles and zeta-potential compared to all other samples investigated in this study. NH2-terminated titanium films displayed intermediate contact angles of 70.3+/-2.5 degrees . Fibrinogen adsorption on titanium films and surface functionalized titanium films were investigated in this study. Ti-COOH samples displayed a lower protein adsorption than all other groups, such as NH2-, -CH=CH2-terminated titanium thin films. A tendency that the lower zeta-potential of the samples, the lower the protein adsorption at their surfaces was observed. In vitro cell proliferation tests were also performed on the different surface functionalized titanium films. NH2-terminated titanium films displayed good cell proliferation and cell viability tendency. However, a lower cell proliferation on COOH-terminated titanium films was observed compared with NH2-terminated titanium films. This effect was attributed to the difference in protein adsorption of these samples.  相似文献

Standard in vitro analyses determining the activity of different compounds included in the chemotherapy of colon cancer are currently insufficient. New ideas, such as photodynamic therapy (PDT), may bring tangible benefits. The aim of this study was to show that the biological activity of selected free-base and manganese (III) metallated porphyrins differs in the limitation of colon cancer cell growth in vitro. White light irradiation was also hypothesized to initiate a photodynamic effect on tested porphyrins. Manganese porphyrin (>1 μM) significantly decreased the viability of the colon tumor and normal colon epithelial cells, both in light/lack of light conditions, while decreasing a free-base porphyrin after only 3 min of white light irradiation. Both porphyrins interacted with cytostatics in an antagonistic manner. The manganese porphyrin mainly induced apoptosis and necrosis in the tumor, and apoptosis in the normal cells, regardless of light exposure conditions. The free-base porphyrin conducted mainly apoptosis and autophagy. Normal and tumor cells released low levels of IL-1β and IL-10. Tumor cells released a low level of IL-6. Light conditions and porphyrins were influenced at the cytokine level. Tested manganese (III) metallated and free-base porphyrins differ in their activity against human colon cancer cells. The first showed no photodynamic, but a toxic activity, whereas the second expressed high photodynamic action. White light use may induce a photodynamic effect associated with porphyrins.  相似文献
