Synthetic analogs of natural flavolignans. V. A new synthesis of 6-halogeno-1,3-benzodioxane analogs of silandrin and hydnocarpin

6-Halogeno-1,3-benzodioxane analogs of chalcones have been synthesized by various methods. Flavanone and flavone analogs of silandrin and hydnocarpin have been obtained from them. The structures of the new flavonoids have been shown by their PMR spectra.     

Construction of the fundamental solution of disturbed parabolic equation

In present paper the parabolic equation solution is built. The construction is reduced to iterative procedure. And convergence of the latter is proven.     

Influence of the prehistory of NaNbO3-Gd1/3NbO3 ceramics and single crystals on their dielectric properties

The dielectric properties of a ceramic and a single crystal of the same composition 0.9NaNbO₃-0.1Gd_1/3NbO₃ (NNG10) with different prehistories of the material are investigated in the low-and infralow-frequency ranges. It is revealed that the dielectric aging of the material based on the NaNbO₃ antiferroelectric with a smeared phase transition differs in character from similar phenomena observed in relaxor ferroelectrics.     

Determination of the surface potential of a dielectric layer on a target bombarded by an ion beam

The electric field at the surface of a charge spot created by an ion beam on a dielectric coating of a target is calculated. An expression is obtained which relates the surface potential of the insulator to the potential of the collector corresponding to saturation of the collector secondary-electron current. It permits determination of the potential drop across the oxide layer of a cold cathode without introducing complications in the construction of the experimental apparatus. Zh. Tekh. Positron states in KCL crystals before and after radiation exposure

The features of positron annihilation in KCl crystals before and after radiation exposure is investigated. A significant increase in the efficiency of the ortho-vapor process of positronium state conversion is detected. A model is proposed for taking part in the ortho-vapor conversion of conduction electrons drawn into the conduction band by a positron field that affords a qualitative interpretation of the results obtained and permits values of the electron concentration in a spur to be obtained.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 7, pp. 98–102, July, 1988.     

Carboxylation of styrene in the N(C4H9)4Br—heptane system

The carboxylation of styrene into carboxylic acids in the N(C₄H₉)₄Br—heptane system in the presence of phosphine complexes and palladium acetate was studied. In the absence of phosphine, the Pd catalyst seems to be stabilized in solution by forming anionic complexes with NBu₄Br; the stabilization depends on the acidity of the reaction medium. The catalytic system can be used repeatedly, its activity being reduced only slightly.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Reaction of 2-methylene-3-oxoquinuclidine with nucleophilic reagents

The salts and quaternary derivatives of 2-methylene-3-hydroxyquinuclidine readily add nucleophilic reagents because of the high polarity and polarizability of the carbon-carbon double bond, which are due to the overall electron-acceptor effect of the positively charged nitrogen atom and the carbonyl group. Determination of the position of the acyl groups and the nature of some amino alcohols in native ester alkaloids of the genusVeratrum

Conclusions 1. On the basis of literature data on the structure of theVeratrum alkaloids, a definite law for the arrangement of the acyl radicals in these ester alkaloids and an interrelationship between the melting point and the structure of the substituent in the C₇ position, and between the melting point and the types of amino alcohols upon which the ester alkaloids are based, has been found.2.
