Angular distributions of electrons intersecting 40- and 120-μm aluminum foils and a 60-μm copper foil have been measured. Electrons have been injected from a microtron with a particle energy of 7.4 MeV. The effect of the material and thickness of a foil, as well as of the direction of injection, on the spatial distribution of passed particles has been analyzed. The measurements have shown that the intersection of the foil at small angles to its surface not only increases the transverse dimensions of the beam but also changes the direction of its motion.  相似文献

Motivated by the new physics beyond the Standard Model through the scale at which neutrino mass has origin, we investigate its possible manifestation at low energy within the corresponding propagation of the energetic neutrino. Let {Yn:n0} be a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables with continuous distribution function, and let {N(t):t0} be a point process. In this paper, making use of strong invariance principles, we establish limit laws for the paced record process {X(t):t0} based on {Yn:n0} and {N(t):t0}. We consider as applications of our main results, the case of the classical and paced record models. We conclude by extensions of our theorems to non-homogeneous record processes.  相似文献

Motivated by the quantum structure of space-time at high scales M QG, we study the propagation behavior of the high-energy neutrino within the quantum gravity effect. We consider the possible induced dispersive effect and derive the resulting vacuum refraction index ηvac(E ν) ? 1 + E ν 2 /M QG 2 . Then, by referring to the SN1987A and basing on the recorded neutrino data we approach the corresponding scale M QG ? 104 GeV.  相似文献

The recent observation of higher quark combinations, tetraquarks and pentaquarks, is a strong indication of more exotic hadrons. Using Z2 and Z3 symmetries and standard model data, a general quark combination producing new hadronic states is proposed in terms of polygon geometries according to the Dynkin diagrams of  n affine Lie algebras. It has been shown that Z2,3 invariance is crucial in the determination of the mesonic or the baryonic nature of these states. The hexagonal geometry is considered in some details producing both mesonic and baryonic states. A general class of this family is also presented.  相似文献

In light of the present LHC Run II at √s = 13 TeV, a SM-like string model is studied. Specifically, a singlet S scalar-extended SM given in terms of four stacks of intersecting D6-branes in a type IIA superstring compactification producing a large gauge symmetry is examined. The scales involved are dealt with. According to the dark matter relic density, the mass of the scalar dark matter beyond the SM m S ? 103 GeV and the corresponding Higgs portal couplings λ SH ? 10–8 have been obtained.  相似文献

Borrowing ideas from elliptic complex geometry, we approach M-theory compactifications on real fibrations. Precisely, we explore real toric equations rather than complex ones exploited in F-theory and related dual models. These geometries have been built by moving real toric manifolds over real bases. Using topological changing behaviors, we unveil certain data associated with gauge sectors relying on affine lie symmetries.  相似文献

Using instanton effects, we discuss the problem of fermion mass hierarchies in an MSSM-like Type IIA orientifolded model with U(3) × Sp(1) × U(1) × U(1) gauge symmetry obtained from intersecting D6-branes. In the corresponding four-stack quiver, the different scales of the generated superpotential couplings offer a partial solution to fermion mass hierarchies. Using the known data with neutrino masses mvt <~2 eVm_{v_\tau } \lesssim 2 eV, we give the magnitudes of the relevant scales.  相似文献
