We present a microeconomic model of social stratification, which includes an endogenous fertility component. In the model, egalitarian and stratified societies coexist. The latter are divided into 2 hereditary classes: a warrior elite and a productive class. The model entails that the extra cost warriors must incur to train and equip their children for war determines the relative sizes of both classes and the degree of economic inequality. Higher costs of warrior children imply a greater economic advantage for warriors and a smaller ratio of warriors to producers. These results are consistent with the historical evidence. Finally, we explore conditions under which the social contributions of the warrior elite could discourage a revolution.  相似文献

本文分析了电环形谐振腔的几何参数对超材料吸收体吸收率的影响。文中详细分析了电环形谐振腔参数、介电层(间隔物)厚度和电环形谐振腔厚度对超材料吸收体的影响,在此基础上,设置正交实验分析了几种参数的综合影响,最终获得超材料的理论吸收率。根据上述结果,制备了2个超材料吸收体的原理样机,经实验测得,原理样机的窄带吸收率高于98%。本文的研究成果为高性能吸收器的设计提供了指导。  相似文献

Abstract— Mesophyll and bundle sheath chloroplasts isolated from Atriplex repanda cells promote oxygen consumption by isobutyraldehyde or phenylacetaldehyde. In all cases, a red emission and reduction of tetrazolium blue was observed. Addition of horseradish peroxidase greatly increases the reduction of the dye. In the presence of 3-(3, 4-dichlorophenyl)-1, 1-dimethylurea, the reduction of the Hill acceptor was fully suppressed. This suppression was abolished when 2, 6-dichlorophenolindophenol and ascorbate were added to the systems. These results indicate that, in mesophyll and bundle sheath chloroplasts, chlorophylls can be efficiently excited in the absence of light and an electron flow through the photosystems can be promoted.  相似文献

This work investigates the surprising disappearance of the Mn2+ photoluminescence on passing from CaF2:Mn2+ to SrF2:Mn2+ or BaF2:Mn2+ using pressure spectroscopy. We show that the loss of luminescence in these systems is associated with non-radiative thermally activated processes whose activation energy and pre-exponential rates strongly depend on the crystal volume irrespective of the chemical composition. A salient feature is the PL enhancement observed in the cotunnite high-pressure phase along the series. This enhancement is explained in terms of the large volume reduction at the phase transition, as well as by the presence of low-symmetry crystal fields attained at the cation sites leading to an increase of the radiative transition rate by the electric-dipole mechanism.  相似文献

In this paper the shallow water equations are solved by usinga numerical scheme implicit in time, and finite elements ofRaviart and Thomas for the space discretization. The nonlinear discretized problem is solved by a duality iterativealgorithm. Numerical results for the dam break test problemand for simulation of real tidal currents are given.  相似文献

The lower excited states of 2-benzoylthiophene have been studied using ab initio quantum chemical methods based on multiconfigurational wave functions. Six singlet and six triplet excited states have been characterized. The geometry has been optimized for the two lowest triplet states, which are responsible for the photoreactivity of the chromophore in the photosensitizing drug tiaprofenic acid. The T1(π → π?) and T2(n → π?) states have been found to be close in energy with the π → π? state slightly lower. The excited states have been characterized using density difference and spin density plots. The different photochemical behaviour of the two triplet states can be rationalized from the theoretical data.  相似文献

This work investigates the pressure-induced variation of the local structure around Cu2+ as well as the crystal structure in Rb2CuCl4(H2O)2 through XAS and XRD techniques. The application of pressure induces a structural change in the Jahn-Teller (JT) [Formula: See Text] complex from axially elongated to compressed. This change leads to the closing of the 2D JT distortion related to the four in-plane Cl? ligands, which are responsible for the antiferrodistortive structure displayed by the crystal. It is shown that the presence of water ligands enhances a JT release. Their associated axial ligand-field favours the occurrence of such a local structural transition below the metallization pressure. The results are compared with recent pressure experiments on A2CuCl4 systems.  相似文献

We use a high‐resolution numerical model to analyze the hydrodynamical exchange processes of the Cienfuegos Bay with the Caribbean Sea. Results show that freshwater inputs and wind are the main factors controlling the water exchange in the bay. Nine simulation case studies with three wind conditions and three freshwater inputs were carried out. The main conclusion is that the Cienfuegos Bay system has a slow exchange rate, with an average flushing time of 39 days during the rainy period and 50 days during the dry one, for the most probable wind direction. Two new temporary scales for Cienfuegos Bay are discussed: the local e‐flushing time and the flushing lag. The results obtained for these new variables validate the slow exchange capacity of the bay.  相似文献
