Structure of dichlorine monoxide as studied by microwave spectroscopy. Determination of equilibrium structure by a modified mass dependence method

The microwave spectra of four isotopic species of dichlorine monoxide (OCl₂) have been observed, and the rotational constants have been obtained. The r_m structure for each isotopic species has been determined by Watson's method. The equilibrium structure has been estimated by taking proper averages of r_m structures to be $\text{r}{}_{\mathrm{e}}\text{(OCl) = 1.69587(7)}\text{A}\text{?}$ and ∠_eClOCl = 110.886(6)°. The general applicability and the merit of the present method for estimating the equilibrium structure are pointed out.     

Pair breaking parameter of two-dimensional dirty superconductors

Intrinsic mechanism of pair breaking is given for dirty superconducting films. Dynamical interaction between electrons such as Coulomb interaction plays an essential role. The diffusion processes of both density- and pair-fluctuations are also important. The problem of the Thompson's parameter for the Maki term of fluctuation conductivity is solved and the correct dependence of the parameter of the sheet resistance R_sq is given.     

Magnetism in singlet ground states

The spin‐gap phenomenon is a key characteristic of high T_c superconducting cuprates, whose experimental results are summarized and discussed in the context of the slave‐boson mean field theory of the extended t–J model. It is seen that there exists satisfactory agreement between theory and experiments in bilayer cuprates. As regards the apparent absence of the spin‐gap in single layer La_2-xSr_xCuO₄ (LSCO), the possible roles played by disorder have been pointed out in view of the recent neutron scattering experiment on other spin singlet systems, the spin‐Peierls CuGeO₃ and two‐leg ladders. Kaluza-Klein theory from the viewpoint of gauge theory of gravity

We consider Kaluza-Klein theory based on the fiber bundle. We obtain the modified Kaluza-Klein metric as an invariant line element of a bundle. Its reduced action includes a higher derivative action in gravitation as well as a term linear inR.     

Two-dimensional Wigner crystal in magnetic fields

Orbital magnetic moment and the frequency dependent conductivities of the Wigner crystal are examined in the harmonic approximation. The effects of scattering on the collective modes are also discussed.
