In this paper, we investigate the evolution of joint invariants under invariant geometric flows using the theory of equivariant moving frames and the induced invariant discrete variational complex. For certain arc length preserving planar curve flows invariant under the special Euclidean group , the special linear group , and the semidirect group , we find that the induced evolution of the discrete curvature satisfies the differential‐difference mKdV, KdV, and Burgers' equations, respectively. These three equations are completely integrable, and we show that a recursion operator can be constructed by precomposing the characteristic operator of the curvature by a certain invariant difference operator. Finally, we derive the constraint for the integrability of the discrete curvature evolution to lift to the evolution of the discrete curve itself.  相似文献

A comprehensive study of the excited electronic states of HCl is reported. Using resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization ((2 + 1) REMPI) and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS) over 120 band systems are analyzed. Supersonic jet techniques are used to prepare rotationally cold species for laser spectroscopy in the 77 000 to 96 000 cm−1 region. At least 50 new electronic states are characterized as well as several features only tentatively assigned previously. A long vibrational progression consisting of 29 vibrational levels of the deeply bound V1Σ+(0+) valence/ion-pair state is studied. We also extend the identification and analysis to high vibrational levels of low-lying Rydberg states. The assignments of [2Πi] Rydberg state complexes are evaluated in terms of spin-orbit coupling and united-atom calculations. In several band systems, the spectra exhibit anomalous rotational line intensities and broadened linewidths which are consistent with predissociation. Multiphoton ionization with mass spectrometry permits the investigation of isotope effects as well as the appearance of fragment species associated with repulsive potential curves.  相似文献

The paper provides significant simplifications and extensions of results obtained by Gorsich, Genton, and Strang (J. Multivariate Anal. 80 (2002) 138) on the structure of spatial design matrices. These are the matrices implicitly defined by quadratic forms that arise naturally in modelling intrinsically stationary and isotropic spatial processes. We give concise structural formulae for these matrices, and simple generating functions for them. The generating functions provide formulae for the cumulants of the quadratic forms of interest when the process is Gaussian, second-order stationary and isotropic. We use these to study the statistical properties of the associated quadratic forms, in particular those of the classical variogram estimator, under several assumptions about the actual variogram.  相似文献

Lipschitz regularity for solutions to nonsmooth problems in the calculus of variations is considered, where we allow for extended-real-valued Lagrangians. Conditions for regularity are given in terms of subdifferentiability properties of the value function. In particular, it is shown that there exists a Lipschitz minimizer as long as the limiting subgradient of the value function is nonempty at the point in question. The results improve upon previous results in the literature, even in the case of finite Lagrangians.  相似文献

It is shown that, if t is an integer ≥3 and not equal to 7 or 8, then there is a unique maximal graph having the path Pt as a star complement for the eigenvalue ?2. The maximal graph is the line graph of Km,m if t = 2m?1, and of Km,m+1 if t = 2m. This result yields a characterization of L(G ) when G is a (t + 1)‐vertex bipartite graph with a Hamiltonian path.
