Values of the emf for the cell: Na-glass|Na2Succ(m), Hg2Succ|Hg, have been measured. These values of E have been used with Hückel's extended Debye and Hückel equation to obtain the mean ionic activity coefficient values for Na2Succ in aqueous solutions of several concentrations, m. The values of γ± thus obtained have been adjusted to Pitzer's equation, with b = 1.2 and α = 2.0 to find Pitzer's parameters and then the values for both the osmotic coefficients and the activity of water. Finally, the standard potential of the Hg2Succ|Hg electrode has been determined and from this value the solubility-product equilibrium constant for mercurous succinate has also been calculated. 相似文献

Activity coefficients for sodium chloride in the NaCl + Na2SO4 + H2O ternary system were determined from emf measurements of the cell
at 15, 25, 35, and 45°C and at total ionic strengths from 0.1 to 6 mol-kg–1. These activity coefficient were analyzed by using the Harned rule and the treatments of Scatchard–Rush–Johnson and Pitzer. The analysis of activity coefficients at trace concentration was also achieved and qualitatively interpreted by considering the ionic interactions that can take place in the mixed system. Finally, the excess Gibbs energy of the mixtures was calculated and qualitatively analyzed against the composition of the system. 相似文献

Ternary mutual diffusion coefficients measured by Taylor dispersion method (D11, D22, D12, and D21) are reported for aqueous solutions of KCl + theophylline (THP) at T = 298.15 K at carrier concentrations from (0.000 to 0.010) mol · dm?3, for each solute. These diffusion coefficients have been measured having in mind a better understanding of the structure of these systems and the thermodynamic behavior of potassium chloride and theophylline in solution. For example, from these data it will be possible to make conclusions about the influence of this electrolyte in diffusion of THP and to estimate some parameters, such as the diffusion coefficient of the aggregate between KCl and THP. 相似文献

Activity coefficient values for NaCl in ethanol-water mixtures containing 20, 40, 60, 70, 80 and 90 weight % ethanol are calculated from the emf for the galvanic cell $$Na - glass|NaCl(m), H_2 O (100 - Y), EtOH(Y), AgCl|Ag$$ in which the weight % of the corresponding solvent is indicated in parenthesis. The results obtained are analyzed by using different theoretical models. Chemical models which take into account the presence of ion pairs in solutions of high ethanol content are also used. Binary mutual diffusion coefficients (interdiffusion coefficients) of nickel chloride in water at T = 298.15 K and T = 310.15 K, and at concentrations between (0.000 and 0.100) mol · dm?3, using a Taylor dispersion method have been measured. These data are discussed on the basis of the Onsager–Fuoss and Pikal models. The equivalent conductance at infinitesimal concentration of the nickel ion in these solutions at T = 310.15 K has been estimated using these results. Through the same technique, ternary mutual diffusion coefficients (D11, D22, D12, and D21) for aqueous solutions containing NiCl2 and lactose, at T = 298.15 K and T = 310.15 K, and at different carrier concentrations were also measured. These data permit us to have a better understanding of the structure of these systems and the thermodynamic behaviour of NiCl2 in different media. 相似文献

Activity coefficients for NaBr in the system NaBr+NaFormate+H2O at 25°C were determined from emf measurements at different total ionic strengths. At each total ionic strength, the measurements were carried out at different Na-Formate/NaBr ionic strength ratios. The experimental activity coefficients were comparatively analyzed using Scatchard's, Pitzer's and Lim's methods. Although all these models can be successfully applied to the analysis of this mixed system, the All Mixing Coefficients (LA) and Consistency Test (LT) models lead to better fittings than the others. 相似文献
