Excitation of Waveguides with a Nonhomogeneous Filling

Radiation conditions are posed for an electromagnetic waveguide with a nonhomogeneous filling. The existence of a solution in a certain functional class is proved. A near-zone solution is obtained.     

Remark on resonance scattering by two barriers in a waveguide

For resonance scattering by two infinitely thin barriers in a waveguide, an elementary proof is given for the existence of a frequency at which the reflection coefficient is arbitrarily low. The proof is obtained using only the method of mode matching. It turns out that the existence of resonances, which are the complex poles of the Green??s function of the scattering problem, do not need to be considered in the method.     

Vector functional spaces related to the electromagnetic diffraction problem in a conical domain and their properties

A special vector functional space is defined for a weak formulation of the diffraction problem in a cone. For this space, a number of embedding theorems are proved. It is also shown that the diffraction problem is reduced to the Fredholm equation.     

Mixed finite elements used to analyze the real and complex modes of cylindrical waveguides

The application of the mixed finite-element method for the analysis of dispersion curves of the cylindrical waveguides with a gradient loading is considered. The test results of the algorithm and the calculations of systems with a variable refractive index are presented. The initiation of complex waves in layered waveguides is shown.
