The matrix equation AX-YB=C and related problems

The main result of the paper is a theorem, using which a new proof of Roth’s theorem is obtained, a new solvability criterion for the matrix equation AX-YB = C is proved, a formula for a particular solution of the latter is derived, and the least of the orders of square nonsingular matrices containing a given rectangular matrix as a submatrix is determined. A Novel Cardiac Glycoside from Parepigynum funingesis

From the dried aerial part ofParepigynumfuningesis Tsiang et P. T. Li (Apocynaceae),a new cardiac glucoside, named parefuningoside (1) had been isolated. Its structure was determined by means of hydrolysis and spectral analysis.     

On a Modified Subgradient Algorithm for Dual Problems via Sharp Augmented Lagrangian*

We study convergence properties of a modified subgradient algorithm, applied to the dual problem defined by the sharp augmented Lagrangian. The primal problem we consider is nonconvex and nondifferentiable, with equality constraints. We obtain primal and dual convergence results, as well as a condition for existence of a dual solution. Using a practical selection of the step-size parameters, we demonstrate the algorithm and its advantages on test problems, including an integer programming and an optimal control problem. *Partially Supported by 2003 UniSA ITEE Small Research Grant Ero2. 藻类植物中钙、镁、铁、锰、铜和锌含量分析

本文采用火焰原子吸收光谱法测定了七种藻类植物中钙 ,镁 ,铁 ,锰 ,铜 ,锌六种元素的含量。结果表明 ,藻类植物中含有较丰富的钙 ,镁 ,铁 ,锰 ,锌元素 ,其含量由大到小顺序为Ca >Mg >Fe >Zn >Mn >Cu ,尤以钙的含量最为丰富 ,铜含量较少。本实验结果为探讨藻类植物作为资源开发利用提供了有用数据。     

塞曼石墨炉原子吸收光谱法测定粉尘降尘中痕量锡

以KOH熔样,又以KOH作基体改进剂,研究了测定锡的灰化温度、原子化行为和消除干扰及试样前处理的方法,以KOH熔解的粉尘及降尘样液,特别适用于塞曼石墨炉的测定,背景可完全扣除。方法简便、快速、准确,灵敏度和精度高。相对标准偏差为4.0%,回收牢在96.4～110%范围内。     

Energy transfer between the flavin chromophores of electron-transferring flavoprotein fromMegasphaera elsdenii as inferred from time-resolved red-edge and blue-edge fluorescence spectroscopy

Both a mode-locked argon-ion laser and synchrotron radiation were used as excitation sources to obtain time-resolved polarized fluorescence of the two FAD cofactors in electron transferring flavoprotein fromMegasphaera elsdenii. Red-edge excited and blue-edge detected fluorescence anisotropy decay curves did not contain a fast relaxation process which was observed upon mainband excitation and detection. This relaxation was assigned to homo-energy transfer between the two FAD cofactors. Failure of energy transfer as observed with edge spectroscopy on this protein excludes restricted reorientational motion of the flavins as a possible mechanism of depolarization. From the global analysis of the fluorescence anisotropy decay surface obtained at multiple excitation and detection wavelengths, the distance between and the relative orientation of the flavins could be estimated. The methodology described has general applicability in other multichromophoric biopolymers and has the potential to acquire accurate geometrical parameters in these systems.

Order Embeddings with Irrational Codomain: Debreu Properties of Real Subsets

The objective of this paper is to investigate the role of the set of irrational numbers as the codomain of order-preserving functions defined on topological totally preordered sets. We will show that although the set of irrational numbers does not satisfy the Debreu property it is still nonetheless true that any lower (respectively, upper) semicontinuous total preorder representable by a real-valued strictly isotone function (semicontinuous or not) also admits a representation by means of a lower (respectively, upper) semicontinuous strictly isotone function that takes values in the set of irrational numbers. These results are obtained by means of a direct construction. Moreover, they can be related to Cantor’s characterization of the real line to obtain much more general results on the semicontinuous Debreu properties of a wide family of subsets of the real line.      

腺嘌呤及其β-环糊精包结物的光谱研究

通过紫外光谱的摩尔比法确定了腺嘌呤与β-环糊精（β－CD）包结物的包结比为1：1，通过紫外光谱和荧光光谱研究了腺嘌呤在酸性，中性，及碱性条件下的光谱变化及与β－CD包结物的光谱变化，分别求得了它们与β－CD包结的平衡常数。
