This article deals with a boundary value problem for Laplace equation with a non‐linear and non‐local boundary condition. This problem comes from petroleum engineering and is used to obtain an estimation of well productivity. The non‐linear and non‐local boundary condition is written on the well boundary. On the outer reservoir boundaries, we have both Dirichlet and Neumann conditions. In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a solution to this problem. The existence is proved by Schauder theorem and the uniqueness is obtained under more restricted conditions, when the involved operator is a contraction. Ultra-thin (0.5-5 nm) films of Ag have been prepared by pulsed laser deposition in vacuum using a 26 ns KrF excimer laser at 1 J cm−2. The deposition was controlled using a Langmuir ion probe and a quartz crystal thickness monitor. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the films are not continuous, but are structured on nanometer size scales. Optical absorption spectra showed the expected surface plasmon resonance feature, which shifted to longer wavelength and increased in strength as the equivalent film thickness was increased. It is shown that Maxwell Garnett effective medium theory can be used to calculate the main features of optical absorption spectra.  相似文献

The univariate generalized beta- and generalized F-distributions are frequently in recent statistical modellings and applications. They have richer properties than the standard beta- and Snedecor F-distributions and provide more flexibility than these distributions, of which they are natural extensions. Their connection with the Gauss hypergeometric function and Lauricella functions leads to further generalizations and important properties. This article gives a unified and up-to-date treatment of these two generalized distributions using only simple arguments. Proofs are given for some original results and a complete reference to their source is provided for established ones. The important problem of parameter estimation is also studied.  相似文献

A variety of techniques for the inclusion of dynamical fermions in lattice gauge theory is examined. Three pseudo-fermionic techniques that have the characteristics desirable for an unquenched simulation of four-dimensional QCD are studied in detail. Langevin and Metropolis pseudo-fermionic techniques are implemented for a 64×64 lattice on the Distributed Array Processor and their relative merits examined both for free fermions and the lattice Schwinger model.  相似文献

Digital image restoration has drawn much attention in the recent years and a lot of research has been done on effective variational partial differential equation models and their theoretical studies. However there remains an urgent need to develop fast and robust iterative solvers, as the underlying problem sizes are large. This paper proposes a fast multigrid method using primal relaxations. The basic primal relaxation is known to get stuck at a ‘local’ non-stationary minimum of the solution, which is usually believed to be ‘non-smooth’. Our idea is to utilize coarse level corrections, overcoming the deadlock of a basic primal relaxation scheme. A further refinement is to allow non-regular coarse levels to correct the solution, which helps to improve the multilevel method. Numerical experiments on both 1D and 2D images are presented.  相似文献

We describe a backward error analysis for stochastic differential equations with respect to weak convergence. The green complex S=1 [(TPEN)FeO]2+ [TPEN=N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine] has been obtained by treating the [(TPEN)Fe]2+ precursor with meta-chloroperoxybenzoic acid (m-CPBA). This high-valent complex belongs to the emerging family of synthetic models of Fe(IV)=O intermediates invoked during the catalytic cycle of biological systems. This complex exhibits spectroscopic characteristics that are similar to those of other models reported recently with a similar amine/pyridine environment. Thanks to its relative stability, vibrational data in solution have been obtained by Fourier transform infrared. A comparison of the Fe=O and Fe=(18)O wavenumbers reveals that the Fe-oxo vibration is not a pure one. The ability of the green complex to oxidize small organic molecules has been studied. Mixtures of oxygenated products derived from two- or four-electron oxidations are obtained. The reactivity of this [FeO]2+ complex is then not straightforward, and different mechanisms may be involved.  相似文献
