Sulfonation of substituted azoles with sulfur trioxide in dichloroethane

A novel method has been developed for the synthesis of sulfonic acids of five-membered heterocycles containing two heteroatoms, with a solution of sulfur trioxide in 1,2-dichloroethane. High yields of the required products are obtained, under conditions which are mild in comparison with those used in earlier methods. Nonlinear wave motions of a liquid in a vibrating axisymmetric cavity

The problem of the nonlinear wave deformation of the free surface of a liquid due to the translational motions of the containing vessel is examined. Bogolyubov's averaging method is used to investigate the characteristics of the wave motions of the liquid in the resonance zones in the case of a cylindrical vessel. Semimartingales with values on groups and lie algebras

We establish a one-to-one correspondence between the processes taking values on the Lie group and its Lie algebra. Determination of the coefficient of thermal conductivity and heat capacity per unit volume in a multilayer medium

We consider the inverse problem of simultaneously determining two time-dependent thermophysical characteristics—the coefficient of thermal conductivity and the heat capacity per unit volume—for a body having the shape of a layer situated between two other layers with known thermophysical characteristics. The necessary measurements are carried out on their outside boundaries. The problem is reduced to a system of nonlinear equations for which the existence of a solution is established by using Schauder's fixed-point theorem.
