Saturated nitrogen-containing heterocycles

Alcohols of the cyclopentanopyrrolidine series were obtained by hydrogenation of furfurylcyclopentylamines. The dependence of the yields of the products of this reaction on the structure of the amine undergoing hydrogenation and on the catalyst used was established.

Photochemical reduction of sulfur in the presence of ZnO nanoparticles in ethanol

The photochemical reduction of sulfur by the action of ZnO nanoparticles of various shapes and sizes under the conditions of stationary and pulsed photoexcitation was studied. The mechanism of this process was proved; the main route to the formation of the reaction product zinc sulfide is reduction of the sulfur by photochemically produced metallic zinc. It was demonstrated that ordered agglomerates of ZnS nanoparticles in the form of nanotubes and nanorods are formed in the systems based on ZnO nanorods.

Evidence of suprathermal electron fluxes in laser-produced plasma from the polarization and anisotropy of X-ray bremsstrahlung emission

Polarization and angular distribution of suprathermal X-ray emission from plasma produced by picosecond ruby laser pulses have been measured. Polarization of 12 ± 3 percent and anisotropy of X-ray angular distribution evidence the existence of suprathermal electron fluxes in plasma. Their direction corresponds to resonance absorption mechanism.
