On Quantum Team Games

Recently Liu and Simaan (2004) convex static multi-team classical games have been introduced. Here they are generalized to both nonconvex, dynamic and quantum games. Puu's incomplete information dynamical systems are modified and applied to Cournot team game. The replicator dynamics of the quantum prisoner's dilemma game is also studied.     

Global Analysis of the Flows of Fluids with Pressure-Dependent Viscosities

 To describe the flows of fluids over a wide range of pressures, it is necessary to take into account the fact that the viscosity of the fluid depends on the pressure. That the viscosity depends on the pressure has been verified by numerous careful experiments. While the existence of solutions local-in-time to the equations governing the flows of such fluids are available for small, special data and rather unrealistic dependence of the viscosity on the pressure, no global existence results are in place. Our interest here is to establish the existence of weak solutions for spatially periodic three-dimensional flows that are global in time, for a large class of physically meaningful viscosity-pressure relationships. Finite temperature infinitesimally deformed classical and quantum gravity

Deformed classical mechanics and gravity is discussed. Infinitesimally deformed quantum field theory is reviewed. Infinitesimally deformed Bose-Einstein distribution is derived. Efficacy of the accent method of voice therapy

The management of voice disorders may follow one of four approaches: surgical, pharmacological, technical aid, and/or voice therapy. The latter approach offers a wide variety of techniques, each based on certain theoretical beliefs. One of these techniques is the Smith Accent Method. The principles and goals of the Accent Method are presented. The results of its application are discussed. This technique proved effective for cases of functional voice disorders, vocal nodules, and some degrees of vocal fold paralysis.     

Weight Function Approach to q-Difference Equations for the q-Hypergeometric Polynomials

In this paper we define a new algebra generated by the difference operators D _q and D _q-1 with two analytic functions (x) and (x). Also, we define an operator M = J ₁ J ₂–J ₃ J ₄ s.t. all q-hypergeometric orthogonal polynomials Y _n(x), x cos(), are eigenfunctions of the operator M with eigenvalues _q [n] _q . The choice of (x) and (x) depend on the weight function of Y _n (x).     

Polynomial Invariant of Knots and Links from Two-Parameter Quantum Groups

A new link polynomial is obtained by introducinga two-parameter Hecke algebra associated with thetwo-parameter quantum groups.     

Dynamical behaviors and synchronization in the fractional order hyperchaotic Chen system

Some dynamical behaviors are studied in the fractional order hyperchaotic Chen system which shows hyperchaos with order less than 4. The analytical conditions for achieving synchronization in this system via linear control are investigated theoretically by using the Laplace transform theory. Routh–Hurwitz conditions and numerical simulations are used to show the agreement between the theoretical and numerical results. To the best of our knowledge this is the first example of a hyperchaotic system synchronizable just in the fractional order case, using a specific choice of controllers.     

Guided modes of integrated optical guides. A mathematical study

A waveguide in integrated optics is defined by its refractiveindex. The guide is assumed to be invariant in the propagationdirection while in the transverse direction it is supposed tobe a compact perturbation of an unbounded stratified medium.We are interested in the modes guided by this device, whichare waves with a transverse energy confined in a neighbourhoodof the perturbation. Our goal is to analyse the existence of such guided modes. Underthe assumptions of weak guidance the problem reduces to a two-dimensionaleigenvalue problem for a scalar field. The associated operatoris unbounded, selfadjoint, and bounded from below. Its spectrumconsists of the discrete spectrum corresponding to the guidedmodes and of the essential spectrum corresponding to the radiationmodes. We present existence results of guided modes and an asymptoticstudy at high frequencies, which shows that contrarily to thecase of optical fibers, the number of guided modes can remainbounded. The major tools are the min-max principle and comparisonof results between different eigenvalue problems. The originalityof the present study lies in the stratified character of theunbounded reference medium.     

Induced and Coinduced Representations of Hopf Group Coalgebras

The induction theory for a Hopf group coalgebra is outlined. Given a Hopf group coalgebra H, the notions of a quotient Hopf group coalgebra and group coisotropic quantum subgroup of H are introduced. The properties of (co)induced representations are studied and the geometric interpretation and simplicity theory of such representations are given.
