Summary Cadmium and zinc can be determined in one solution in the following manner. The sample is adjusted to pH 9.4 with an ammonia-ammonium chloride buffer so that the total ammonia concentration is 0.01–0.03M. Zincon is added to attain a concentration of 0.06–0.18 mg/ml. The titration is performed photometrically at about 620 nm with EGTA as the titrant. The titration curve obtained shows two breaks which are related to the consecutive titration of cadmium and zinc. The influence of calcium impurities in the reagents used has been studied and a pre-titration method is proposed to deal with small calcium blanks. Calcium may also be added to the sample in order to obtain a titration curve which shows three breaks, which are related to the consecutive titration of cadmium, calcium, and zinc.

Zusammenfassung Cadmium und Zink lassen sich nebeneinander in einer Lösung bestimmen. Man bringt die Probe durch Zusatz von Ammoniak-Ammoniumchlorid-Puffer auf pH 9,4, so daß die totale Ammoniakkonzentration 0,01- bis 0,03-m ist. Pro ml werden 0,06 bis 0,18 mg Zincon zugesetzt, dann wird mit EGTA [Äthylenglykol-bis-(-aminoäthyläther)-N,N,N,N-tetraessigsäure] bei etwa 620 nm photometrisch titriert. Die Titrationskurve zeigt zwei Knickpunkte, die der aufeinanderfolgenden Titration von Cadmium und Zink entsprechen. Der Einfluß von Calcium-Verunreinigungen in den verwendeten Reagenzien wurde untersucht und eine Vortitration zur Bestimmung kleiner Calcium-Blindwerte vorgesehlagen. Man kann auch der Probe Calcium zusetzen und erhält dann eine Kurve mit drei Knickpunkten, entsprechend den aufeinanderfolgenden Titrationen von Cadmium, Calcium und Zink.
Résumé On peut doser le cadmium et le zinc sur une seule solution de la manière suivante. On ajuste le pH de l'échantillon à 9,4 par un tampon ammoniaque-chlorure d'ammonium de façon que la concentration totale en ammoniaque soit de 0,01–0,03M. On ajoute de la zincone jusqu'à l'obtention d'une concentration de 0,06–0,18 mg/ml. On effectue un dosage speetrophotométrique à 620 nm en utilisant l'EGTA comme agent titrant. La courbe de titrage montre deux points anguleux correspondant à la teneur en cadmium et en zinc. Après avoir étudié l'influence du calcium à l'état d'impuretés dans les réactifs utilisés, on propose une méthode de prétitrage pour faire les essais à blanc avec de petites quantités de calcium. On peut également ajouter du calcium à l'échantillon afin d'obtenir une courbe de titrage avec trois points anguleux relatifs aux titrages consécutifs du cadmium, du calcium et du zinc.

[Structure: see text]. The synthesis and characterization of a series of organochalcogen (Se, Te) compounds derived from benzyl alcohol 13 are described. The synthesis of the key precursor dichalcogenides 15, 22, and 29 was achieved by the ortho-lithiation route. Selenide 18 was obtained by the reaction of the dilithiated derivative 14 with Se(dtc)2. Oxidation of 15 and 22 with H2O2 afforded the corresponding cyclic ester derivatives 17 and 24, respectively. Oxidation of selenide 18 with H2O2 affords the spirocyclic compound 19. The presence of intramolecular interactions in dichalcogenides 15 and 22 has been proven by single-crystal X-ray studies. The cyclic compounds 17 and 19 have also been characterized by single-crystal X-ray studies. GP(X)-like antioxidant activity of selenium compounds has been evaluated by the coupled bioassay method. Density functional theory calculations at the mPW1PW91 level on ditelluride 22 have identified a fairly strong nonbonding interaction between the hydroxy oxygen and tellurium atom. The second-order perturbation energy obtained through NBO analysis conveys the involvement of n(O) --> sigma(Te-Te) orbital overlap in nonbonding interaction. Post wave function analysis with the Atoms in Molecules (AIM) method identified distinct bond critical point in 15 and 22 and also indicated that the nonbonding interaction is predominantly covalent. Comparison between diselenide 15 and ditelluride 22 using the extent of orbital interaction as well as the value of electron density at the bond critical points unequivocally established that a ditelluride could be a better acceptor in nonbonding interaction, when the hydroxy group acts as the donor. 相似文献

The Fraser fir (Abies fraseri), a conifer native to high elevation sites in the southern Appalachians, has suffered severe mortality attributed to an exotic insect, the balsam woolly adelgid (BWA) (Adelges piceae). Fraser fir, like many other plants, produce volatile organic compounds called monoterpenes in a variety of tissues, including the cortical oleoresin found in blisters on the bark. The purpose of this study was to perform a chemosystematic study to evaluate whether differences in monoterpene composition of Fraser fir oleoresin were observed as a function of the season sampled, the presence or absence of BWA infestation, the health of a tree, and the susceptibility of trees to BWA, based on geographic location. Oleoresin was collected in September and December, 1994, at two mountains, Mount Rogers, where the fir were relatively healthy, and Roan Mountain, where heavy to moderate mortality has been observed. The oleoresin samples were dissolved in methylene chloride, and the monoterpenes were determined by gas chromatography. This method was shown to have acceptable precision for chemosystematic studies for five monoterpenes and the total of all monoterpenes. The levels of monoterpenes in oleoresin were statistically the same for most compounds in September and December, although the total monoterpenes were higher in September at Mount Rogers and α-pinene was higher in December at Roan Mountain. Infested and uninfested fir had the same levels of oleoresin monoterpenes at both mountains. No differences in monoterpene levels were observed at Mount Rogers with healthy and unhealthy fir, but at Roan Mountain, the total monoterpene concentrations were different in these categories. A comparison of monoterpene concentrations in oleoresin from Mount Rogers and Roan Mountain showed statistically significant differences for 3-carene, β-phellandrene, and total monoterpenes. 相似文献

Marked differences in the laser action (1.315 μm) observed following the flash photolysis of CD3I and CH3I are reported (substantially greater outputs are observed with CD3I). These differences result from the significantly smaller cross section for quenching of I(5 2P
) by CD3I, relative to that for CH3I. Absolute values for the quenching cross sections have been determined using time resolved atomic absorption spectrophotometry. These data were employed in a computer simulated model which satisfactorily reproduced the light output from CH3I, CD3I and CF3I photochemical laser systems. It is concluded that isotopic substitution can markedly influence the cross section for quenching of an excited state and thus influence partitioning between the various available channels. 相似文献
