In this paper, a new displacement based high-order shear deformation theory is introduced
for the static response of functionally graded plate. Unlike any other theory, the number
of unknown functions involved is only four, as against five in case of other shear deformation
theories. The theory presented is variationally consistent, has strong similarity with
classical plate theory in many aspects, does not require shear correction factor, and
gives rise to transverse shear stress variation such that the transverse shear stresses
vary parabolically across the thickness satisfying shear stress free surface conditions.
The mechanical properties of the plate are assumed to vary continuously in the thickness
direction by a simple power-law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the
constituents. Numerical illustrations concerned flexural behavior of FG plates with
Metal-Ceramic composition. Parametric studies are performed for varying ceramic volume
fraction, volume fraction profiles, aspect ratios and length to thickness ratios. The
validity of the present theory is investigated by comparing some of the present results
with those of the classical, the first-order and the other higher-order theories. It
can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and simple in solving the static

A modified shear lag analysis, taking into account the notion of stress perturbation function, is employed to evaluate the effect of transverse cracks on the stiffness reduction in [±θn/90m]S angle-ply laminated composites. Effects of number of 90° layers and number of ±θ layers on the laminate stiffness have also been studied. The present results represent well the dependence of the degradation of mechanical properties on the fibre orientation angle of the outer layers, the number of cracked cross-ply layers and the number of uncracked outer ±θ layers in the laminate. 相似文献

Effects of number of 90° layers and number of θ° layers in the outer angle-ply laminates on the reduction of the effective axial coefficient of thermal expansion have also been studied. A K+‐sensitive capacitive electrolyte‐membrane‐insulator‐semiconductor (EMIS) based on a novel dibromoaza[7]helicene ionophore has been developed. An ion‐sensitive membrane based on polyvinylchloride (PVC) doped with the ionophore was deposited on the Si3N4/SiO2/Si‐p/Cu‐Al transducer. The properties of the K+‐EMIS chemical sensor were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). All the developed devices upon being tested have shown good sensitivity and linearity responses within the range 10?6 M to 10?1 M of potassium activity, with good selectivity over a wide variety of other cations (Na+, Li+, Cu2+, Ca2+, and Mg2+). To our knowledge, this is the first time that a capacitive field‐effect sensor has been fabricated using helicene as a carrier for K+‐detection, combined with the structure: Si3N4/SiO2/Si‐p/Cu‐Al as a transducer. 相似文献

Problems of nonlinear cylindrical bending of sigmoid functionally graded plates in which material properties vary through the thickness are considered. The variation of the material properties follows two power-law distributions in terms of the volume fractions of constituents. The nonlinear strain-displacement relations in the von Kármán sense are used to study the effect of geometric nonlinearity. The governing equations are reduced to a linear differential equation with nonlinear boundary conditions, yielding a simple solution procedure. Numerical results are presented to show the effect of the material distribution on the deflections and stresses. 相似文献

We study the thermal buckling of a simply supported sigmoid functionally graded (SFGM) rectangular plate using first-order shear deformation theory. The S-FGM system consists of ceramic (Al2O3) and metal (Al) phases varying across the plate thickness according to a law described by two power-law functions. The effective properties of the composite are determined by the rule of mixtures, whose implementation is simpler than that of methods of micromechanics. The thermal heating is characterized by a uniform, linear, or sinusoidal temperature distribution across the plate thickness. The effects of the plate aspect ratio, the relative thickness, the gradient index, and the transverse shear on the buckling temperature difference are studied. 相似文献

The strengthening of concrete structures in situ with externally bonded fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) composite sheets is
increasingly being used for the repair and rehabilitation of existing structures. However, debonding along the FRP-concrete
interface can lead to premature failure of the structures. The interfacial stresses have played a significant role in understanding
this premature debonding failure of such repaired structures. In this paper, an improved theoretical analysis of the interfacial
stresses is presented for a simply supported concrete beam bonded with a FRP plate. The shear strains of the adherends have
been included in the present theoretical analysis by assuming a parabolic distribution of shear stress across their thickness.
Contrary to some existing studies, the assumption that both adherends have the same curvature is not used in the present investigation.
The results of this numerical study are beneficial for understanding the mechanical behavior of material interfaces and for
the design of hybrid FRP-reinforced concrete structures. 相似文献
