We study a linearly damped preloaded two-bar linkage that exhibits hysteresis due to the presence of multiple attracting equilibria. The dynamics at the unstable equilibrium, through which a snap-through buckle occurs, are not linearizable due to a solution-dependent singularity. We stabilize the unstable equilibrium using two distinct non-linear controllers. The feedback-linearization controller requires knowledge of the linkage parameters, whereas the robust version of the intrinsic non-linear proportional-derivative controller requires only an upper bound on the stiffness.  相似文献

Using a photoelastic modulator-based novel set-up, the electric field-induced in-plane birefringence and the optical rotatory power (ORP) were measured of an antiferroelectric liquid crystalline compound (12OF1M7) in its various phases using 30 µm homeotropic cells. Some specific signatures of the in-plane birefringence and of the ORP for the various phases are being established. A relatively small threshold field is needed for the unwinding process of the antiferroelectric phase with a unit cell of four layers [SmCA*(1/2)] compared with that for two layers [SmCA*(0)]. On application of the electric field on the high temperature side of the SmCA*(1/2) phase (80.1-81.5°C), a field-induced phase transition is shown to occur directly to the SmC* phase, whereas on the lower temperature side (79.4-80.1°C) the transition takes place to SmC* via the SmCA*(1/3) phase. The in-plane birefringence exhibits a critical power law dependence for the SmC*-SmA transition. The ORP changes sign within the temperature range of the phase with a unit cell of three layers, reflecting a change in the handedness during this phase. Using tilted conoscopy, the results for the biaxiality and the apparent tilt angle for a smectic liquid crystal with a tilt angle greater than 18° in the ferroelectric phase are reported. The biaxiality implies the difference in the refractive indices between the two minor axes of the refractive index ellipsoid. The optical transmittance at visible and IR wavelengths for free-standing films reveal characteristic reflection bands for these phases. The modulated structures of the reflected bands appear just above the SmCA* phase and below SmCA*(1/3); these are possibly due to an easy deformation of the phase by the surfaces.  相似文献

The reaction of methylphosphine sulfide, MeP(S)(3,5-Me2Pz)2, 1, with anhydrous CuCl2 affords a tetranuclear copper cluster[Cu2Cl2(3,5-Me2Pz)3(MePO3)]2, 2, and a dinuclear compound Cu2Cl4(3,5-Me2Pz)4, 3. This reaction involves a metal-assisted desulfurization along with concomitant hydrolysis of P-N bonds. The X-ray structures of 1-3 have been determined, and the crystal parameters for these are the following. 1: space group = C2/c, a = 15.2552(1) A, b = 8.7364(2) A, c = 21.4490(3) A, beta = 93.349(1) degrees, V = 2853.74(8) A3, and Z = 8. 2: space group = P2(1)/n, a = 12.5964(4) A, b = 15.7773(4) A, c = 13.9781(4) A, beta = 116.6280(10) degrees, V = 2483.32(12) A3, and Z = 2. 3: space group = P2(1)/c, a = 8.7137(8) A, b = 13.5493(14) A, c = 11.8847(12) A, beta = 106.179(2) degrees, V = 1347.6(2) A3, and Z = 2. The structure of 2 shows that it comprises two dinuclear copper cores bridged together by two tripodal methylphosphinate, MePO3, ligands. 2 is weakly antiferromagnetically coupled, as revealed by variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements.  相似文献

The highly explosive molecules As(N(3))(3) and Sb(N(3))(3) were obtained in pure form by the reactions of the corresponding fluorides with (CH(3))(3)SiN(3) in SO(2) and purification by sublimation. The crystal structures and (14)N NMR, infrared, and Raman spectra were determined, and the results compared to ab initio second-order perturbation theory calculations. Whereas Sb(N(3))(3) possesses a propeller-shaped, pyramidal structure with perfect C(3) symmetry, the As(N(3))(3) molecule is significantly distorted from C(3) symmetry due to crystal packing effects.  相似文献

Ageratum conyzoides L. (Family—Asteraceae) is an annual aromatic invasive herb, mainly distributed over the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. It owns a reputed history of indigenous remedial uses, including as a wound dressing, an antimicrobial, and mouthwash as well as in treatment of dysentery, diarrhea, skin diseases, etc. In this review, the core idea is to present the antifungal potential of the selected medicinal plant and its secondary metabolites against different fungal pathogens. Additionally, toxicological studies (safety profile) conducted on the amazing plant A. conyzoides L. are discussed for the possible clinical development of this medicinal herb. Articles available from 2000 to 2020 were reviewed in detail to exhibit recent appraisals of the antifungal properties of A. conyzoides. Efforts were aimed at delivering evidences for the medicinal application of A. conyzoides by using globally recognized scientific search engines and databases so that an efficient approach for filling the lacunae in the research and development of antifungal drugs can be adopted. After analyzing the literature, it can be reported that the selected medicinal plant effectively suppressed the growth of numerous fungal species, such as Aspergillus, Alternaria, Candida, Fusarium, Phytophthora, and Pythium, owing to the presence of various secondary metabolites, particularly chromenes, terpenoids, flavonoids and coumarins. The possible mechanism of action of different secondary metabolites of the plant against fungal pathogens is also discussed briefly. However, it was found that only a few studies have been performed to demonstrate the plant’s dosage and safety profile in humans. Considered all together, A. conyzoides extract and its constituents may act as a promising biosource for the development of effective antifungal formulations for clinical use. However, in order to establish safety and efficacy, additional scientific research is required to explore chronic toxicological effects of ageratum, to determine the probability of interactions when used with different herbs, and to identify safe dosage. The particulars presented here not only bridge this gap but also furnish future research strategies for the investigators in microbiology, ethno-pharmacology, and drug discovery.  相似文献

The synthesis and physical properties of new silicon‐containing polyfunctional cyanate ester monomers methyl[tris(4‐cyanatophenyl)]silane and tetrakis(4‐cyanatophenyl)silane, as well as polycyanurate networks formed from these monomers are reported. The higher crosslinking functionality compared to di(cyanate ester) monomers enables much higher ultimate glass transition temperatures to be obtained as a result of thermal cyclotrimerization. The ability to reach complete conversion is greatly enhanced by cocure of the new monomers with di(cyanate ester) monomers such as 1,1‐bis(4‐cyanatophenyl)ethane. The presence of silicon in these polycyanurate networks imparts improved resistance to rapid oxidation at elevated temperatures, resulting in char yields as high as 70% under nitrogen and 56% in air in the best‐performing networks. The water uptake in the silicon‐containing networks examined is 4–6 wt % after 96 h of immersion at 85 °C, considerably higher than both carbon‐containing and/or di(cyanate ester) analogs. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A method for measuring the spontaneous polarization P s, the switching time, the rotational viscosity γφ, and the d.c. conductivity σ is presented. The possibilities of estimating the azimuthal angle φ0, the dielectric anisotropy δε and the dielectric permittivity ε in the same experiment are also discussed. It is explicitly shown that the switching delay, though primarily dependent on the material and the applied field, is also dependent on the geometry of the cell.  相似文献

Measurement of test article concentration in tissue samples has been an important part of pharmacokinetic study and has helped to co‐relate pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic relationships since the 1950s. Bioanalysis of tissue samples using LC–MS/MS comes with unique challenges in terms of sample handling and inconsistent analyte response owing to nonvolatile matrix components. Matrix effect is a phenomenon where the target analyte response is either suppressed or enhanced in the presence of matrix components. Based on previous reports electrospray ionization (ESI) mode of ionization is believed to be more affected by matrix components than atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) or atmospheric pressure photoionization. To explore the impact of ionization source with respect to bioanalysis of tissue samples, five structurally diverse compounds – atenolol, verapamil, diclofenac, propranolol and flufenamic acid – were selected. Quality control standards were spiked into 10 different biological matrices like whole blood, liver, heart, brain, spleen, kidney, skeletal muscle, eye and skin tissue and were quantified against calibration standards prepared in rat plasma. Quantitative bioanalysis was performed utilizing both APCI and ESI mode and results were compared. Quality control standards when analyzed with APCI mode were found to be more consistent in terms of accuracy and precision as compared with ESI mode. Additionally, for some instances, up to 20‐fold broader dynamic linearity range was observed with APCI mode as compared with ESI mode. As phospholid interferences have poor response in APCI mode, protein precipitation extraction technique can be used for multimatrix quantitation, which is more amenable to automation. The approach of multiple biological matrix quantitation against a single calibration curve helps bioanalysts to reduce turnaround time. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Abstract

The temperature and frequency dependences of the complex dielectric susceptibility of a ferroelectric liquid crystal near the smectic C*-smectic A phase transition have been calculated using the classical and generalized Landau models. It is shown that although the dielectric response of the S*C phase consists generally of four modes (soft, Goldstone, and two high frequency polarization modes) only three bands appear in the dielectric loss spectrum of ferroelectric liquid crystals at the SA–S*C phase transition. These results are in agreement with recent experimental data.  相似文献
