Studies aimed at the synthesis of morphine V an economic approach to (±)-reticuline from 3,4-dihydropapaverine

Regioselective demethylation of 3,4-dihydropapaveraldine ($\text{2}$a) at 7 and 3' positions affords a properly substituted diphenolic key intermidiate ($\text{2}$d) for the synthesis of reticuline and N-norreticuline.     

The Neumann problem,cylindrical outlets and Sobolev spaces

The Neumann problem is crucial in mathematical physics. Nevertheless, as far as cylindrical domains are concerned there is still the open question how to construct solutions to data in usual Sobolev spaces since the standard Kondratiev theory does not apply. In this paper that unsatisfactory gap is filled and moreover, data with polynomial asymptotic behaviour are considered. As interesting special case we find solutions with bounded Dirichlet integral. Axial Structure of the Field Intensity in Diffusion-Controlled Surface-Wave Produced Plasmas

Surface-wave gas discharges sustained under the conditions of a diffusion controlled regime are studied on the basis of the fluid plasma model. The self-consistent behaviour of the plasma density and of the field intensity along the discharge length is obtained. It is shown that the nonlinearity in the particle balance equation due to stepwise ionisation determines the plasma density in terms of the field intensity and ensures self-consistent behaviour of the wave ? discharge characteristics in a diffusion controlled regime.     

Laser evaporation as a source of small free radicals

It is shown that laser evaporation of a solid target followed by adiabatic expansion can be used to produce cold beams of neutral small open shell molecules. LIF is applied to detect CuH (X ¹), CH (X ²), SiH (X ²), CuO (X ²), and FeO (X ⁵). A production of 10^9±1 molecules/sr in a single pulse is obtained for SiH. For a copper target, the optical emission of the jet plume is discussed.     

Studies on pyridazine derivatives. IV Mesylation reaction of pyridazinylpyrazoles

On mesylation, 1-pyridazinylpyrazoles ( 1 ), give, depending on the substituents and reaction conditions, O-mesylpyrazoles ( 2 ) and O-mesyl-4-N-mesyl-1,4-dihydro-4-pyridyl-pyrazole derivatives ( 3 ). The structures of these compounds were confirmed by ir and ¹H nmr spectral data.
