We describe the preparation of SeMO(3) (M = Ni, Mn) under high pressure conditions (3.5 GPa), starting from reactive H(2)SeO(3) and MO mixtures, contained in sealed gold capsules under the reaction conditions 850 degrees C for 1 h. The polycrystalline samples have been studied by neutron powder diffraction (NPD) data and magnetization measurements. SeMO(3) (M = Ni, Mn) are orthorhombically distorted perovskites (space group Pnma). Below T(N) approximately 104 K (M = Ni) and T(N) approximately 53.5 K (M = Mn) these oxides experience an antiferromagnetic ordering, as demonstrated by susceptibility and NPD measurements. The magnetic reflections observed in the neutron patterns can be indexed with a propagation vector k = 0. Both compounds present the same magnetic structure, which is given by the basis vector (0, 0, A(z)). It can be described as antiferromagnetic (010) layers of magnetic moments lying along the c direction, which are antiferromagnetically coupled along the b direction. For the Ni(2+) ions, the ordered magnetic moment at T = 2.3 K is 2.11(3) micro(B), whereas for Mn(2+) at T = 2.6 K, |m| = 4.64(2) micro(B), consistent with the electronic configurations te (Ni(2+)) and te (Mn(2+)).  相似文献

A method to detect the presence of common wheat in durum wheat flour samples was developed and tested. Flour samples, or ground wheat samples, were digested by pepsin and chymotrypsin, and the peptide mixture obtained was analyzed by LC/ESI-MS and LC/ESI-MS/MS, which led to the identification of two marker peptides. One peptide was coded only in the DD genome, and thus present only in common wheat; the second was present in all wheat samples (both common and durum), so it was used as marker of the total wheat content. The ratio of the chromatographic areas of these two peptides, as determined by LC/ESI-MS, was related to the proportion of common wheat in the sample using a calibration curve that was constructed with standards of known composition. The proportions of common wheat in samples obtained by mixing different common and durum wheat varieties were accurately determined by this method. Finally, the method was applied in a survey of several durum wheat flour brands present on the Italian market. The results of the survey revealed that contamination of durum wheat flour with common wheat is commonplace.  相似文献

We search for general patterns that explain the low field magnetoresistance at low temperatures in the system A(2-x)A'xFeMoO6. The observed linear dependence of the low field magnetoresistance with the saturation magnetization for the series is related to the antisite disorder at the Fe and Mo sites. This is explained in terms of a spin dependent crossing of intragranular barriers originated from the presence of antiferromagnetic SrFeO3 patches that naturally develop when antisite disorder occurs in the double perovskite. The presence of a moderate level of antisite disorder is at the very root of low field magnetoresistance although effects such as disorder distribution, connectivity, or morphology add their contribution.  相似文献

We report a systematic enhancement of the pressure dependence of T(N) in A(2+)[V(2)]O(4) spinels as the V-V separation approaches the critical separation for a transition to itinerant-electron behavior. An intermediate phase between localized and itinerant-electron behavior is identified in Zn[V(2)]O(4) and Mg[V(2)]O(4) exhibiting mobile holes as large polarons. Partial electronic delocalization, cooperative ordering of V-V pairs in Zn[V(2)]O(4) below T(s) approximately T(N) and dT(N)/dP<0, signals that lattice instabilities associated with the electronic crossover are a universal phenomenon.  相似文献
