Arene sulfenylation by arenesulfenamides and arenesulfenylacetates

Two systems for arene sulfenylation were investigated: arenesulfenamides in the presence of SO₃ and sulfenylacetate complexes with AlBr₃. Nucleophilic Opening of the Aziridine Ring in 1-Alkyl-1-azoniatricyclo[2.2.1.02,6]heptanes

Opening of the aziridine ring in 3-bromo-1-alkyl-1-azoniatricyclo[2.2.1.02,6]heptane bromides by the action of various nucleophiles leads to formation of the corresponding 6-substituted 2-alkyl-2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptanes.     

Diene synthesis with 5-chloro-1-alkyl-2-pyridones

For the first time, we describe the diene synthesis of 5-chloro-1-alkyl-2-pyridones with N-phenylmaleic imide and have shown that the reaction proceeds nonstereoselectively with formation of a mixture of [4+2]cycloadducts with anendo andexo configuration. A series of previously unreported aldehydes has been prepared by the formylation reaction of dipyrrolo[1,2-a;2':,1'-c]pyrazines and their 5,6-dihydro analogs by DMF and phosphorus oxychloride.     

Arylselenenation of conjugated dienes by arylselenenamides in the presence of phosphorus(V) oxyhalides

Arylselenenation of conjugated and non-conjugated dienes by arylselenenamides in the presence of phosphorus(V) oxyhalides has been studied. Reactions with conjugated dienes lead to 1,4-adducts whilst only addition to double bonds takes place in reactions with non-conjugated dienes.

We have studied the behavior of asymmetrically substituted dipyrrolo[1,2-a;2',1'-c]pyrazines and their 5,6-dihydro analogs under phosphorylation reaction conditions.     

2-isoxazolines from arylcyclopropanes: I. Monoarylcyclopropanes in a reaction with nitrosyl chloride activated by sulfur(IV) oxide

A reaction of monoarylcyclopropanes with nitrosyl chloride activated by sulfur (IV) oxide gave in good yields 5-arylisoxazolines. The reaction is of electrophilic character. A scheme of the reaction was suggested.     

Trifluoroacetylation of pyrrolo[1,2-<Emphasis Type="Italic">a</Emphasis>]pyrazines

A study was carried out on the reaction of pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazines containing an alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl substituent at C-1 with trifluoroacetic anhydride. Trifluoroacetylation products may be formed either by reaction in the pyrrole ring or at the aryl or aralkyl groups at C-1. Products of electrophilic substitution at C-6 are formed in the trifluoroacetylation of pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazines containing at C-1 a substituent bulkier than a methyl group but lacking substituents at C-6 (the α-position of the pyrrole ring). __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 8, pp. 1226–1233, August, 2007.     

Nitrosylsulfuric acid as an oxidant in the synthesis of 3,5-diarylisoxazoles

By six examples, it was demonstrated that nitrosylsulfuric acid can be successfully used for oxidation of 3,5-diaryl-4,5-dihydroisoxazoles to the corresponding 3,5-diarylisoxazoles. If the starting isoxazolines contain the aromatic substituents activated towards electrophilic substitution, nitration of both newly formed isoxazole and substituted benzene rings occurred.
