Alkylation of 2,3,6,11-tetrahydroanthra[2,1-d]isothiazole-3,6,11-trione and its S-oxide

The reactions of 2,3,6,11-tetrahydroanthra[2,1-d]isothiazole-3,6,11-trione with dimethyl sulfate, benzyl chloride, and allyl bromide afforded the corresponding 2-alkyl-2,3,6,11-tetrahydroanthra[2,1-d]isothiazole-3,6,11-triones and 3-(alkoxy)-6,11-dihydroanthra[2,1-d]isothiazole-6,11-diones. The reactions of 2,3,6,11-tetrahydroanthra[2,1-d]isothiazole-3,6,11-trione and its S-oxide with a formaldehyde—secondary amine system yielded 2-[(alkylamino)methyl]-2,3,6,11-tetrahydroanthra[2,1-d]isothiazole-3,6,11-triones and 2-[(alkylamino)methyl]-3,6,11-trioxo-2,3,6,11-tetrahydroanthra[2,1-d]isothiazole 1-oxides, respectively.     

Measurement of storage time, estimation of ion number and study of absorption line profile in a Paul trap

Europium (Eu⁺) ions were confined in a Paul trap and detected by non-destructive method. Storage time of Eu⁺ ions achieved in vacuum was improved by orders of magnitude employing buffer gas cooling. The experimentally detected signal was fitted to the ion response signal and the total number of ions trapped was estimated. It is found that the peak signal amplitude as well as the product of FWHM and the peak signal amplitude is proportional to the total number of trapped ions. The trapped ion secular frequency was swept at different rates and its effect on the absorption line profile was studied both experimentally and theoretically.     

Reactions of 2,2-disubstituted 1,1-dicyanoethenes with β-dimethylaminoacrolein aminal and 3-dimethylamino-1,1,3-trimethoxypropane

A reaction of 2,2-disubstituted 1,1-dicyanoethenes with β-dimethylaminoacrolein aminal and 3-dimethylamino-1,1,3-trimethoxypropane leads to substituted 6,6-dicyano-1-dimethyl-aminohexatrienes and an organic salt containing 1,1,9,9-tetracyano-2,8-diphenylnona-2,4,6,8-tetraenide as the anion and (dimethylaminopropenylidene)dimethylammonium as the cation, on the basis of which new cation-anionic polymethine dyes were obtained. Nitro derivatives of cyclic sulfoximides of the 1,2-benzoisothiazole series

Nitro derivatives of 1-R-1,2-benzoisothiazol-3-one 1-oxide were synthesized by the reactions of 2-alkyl(phenyl)thio-4-nitro- and 4,6-dinitro-2-(phenylthio)benzamides with chlorine in 60% acetic acid. Analogous reactions of 2-(n-butylthio)-4-nitro- and 2-(tert-butylthio)-4-nitrobenzamides with chlorine afforded 2-butyl- and 2-H-1,2-benzoisothiazol-3-one 1-oxides, respectively. The proposed reaction mechanism includes the formation and subsequent transformations of S-alkyl-S-aryl- and S,S-diarylchlorosulfonium chlorides.     

Reaction of 1,1-disubstituted hydrazines with bromine in the presence of aryl- and heteroarylnitroso compounds in acid media: A general method for the synthesis of 1-aryl(heteroaryl)-3,3-disubstituted triazene 1-oxides

We have worked out a method for the synthesis of 1,3,3-trisubstituted triazene 1-oxides based upon reaction of 1,1-disubstituted hydrazines with bromine in the presence of aryl- and heteroarylnitroso compounds in acid media. Obtained are a broad range of triazene 1-oxides, among which hitherto unknown compounds of the series of pyrazole and 3,3-dialkyltriazene 1-oxides that contain functional groups at the alkyl part of the molecule. We propose a reaction scheme which includes in situ formation of diazenium cations and reaction of them with nitroso compounds that are present in the system. By means of PMR,¹³C, and¹⁴N NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectroscopy, it has been shown that in all the prepared compounds the oxidated nitrogen atom is at the N¹ position of the triazene N-oxide group.N. Synthesis of alkylN-(α-amidomethyl)glycinates from glycine esters,aroylamides, and formaldehyde

A one-step synthesis of alkylN-(-amidomethyl)glycinates from glycine esters or their salts, formaldehyde, and aroylamides was developed. Synthesis of 3-methoxy-5-oxo-6-phenyl-5,6-dihydro-4H-isothiazolo[5,4-b]-1,4-thiazine 7,7-dioxide,the first representative of a new heterocyclic system

When treated with an excess of MeONa in DMF, 5-benzylsulfonyl-3-chloro-4-methoxycarbonylaminoisothiazole undergoes cyclization into 3-methoxy-5-oxo-6-phenyl-5,6-dihydro-4H-isothiazolo[5,4-b]-1,4-thiazine 7,7-dioxide, the first representative of a new heterocyclic system. The starting 5-benzylsulfonyl-3-chloro-4-methoxycarbonylaminoisothiazole was prepared by the reaction of 5-benzylsulfonyl-4-carbamoyl-3-chloroisothiazole with PhI(OAc)₂ in methanol.     

Chemical properties ofN-(amidomethyl)- andN-(imidomethyl)glycine derivatives
