Sortase-Mediated Transpeptidation for Site-Specific Modification of Peptides, Glycopeptides, and Proteins

Sortases are a family of transpeptidases found in Gram-positive bacteria responsible for covalent anchoring of cell surface proteins to bacterial cell walls. It has been discovered that sortase A (SrtA) of Staphylococcus aureus origin is rather promiscuous and can accept various molecules as substrates. As a result, SrtA has been widely used to ligate peptides and proteins with a variety of nucleophiles, and the ligation products are useful for research in chemical biology, proteomics, biomedicine, etc. This review summarizes the recent applications of SrtA with special emphasis on SrtA-catalyzed ligation of carbohydrates with peptides and proteins.     

A Universal Graphene Quantum Dot Tethering Design Strategy to Synthesize Single-Atom Catalysts

A general graphene quantum dot-tethering design strategy to synthesize single-atom catalysts (SACs) is presented. The strategy is applicable to different metals (Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) and supports (0D carbon nanosphere, 1D carbon nanotube, 2D graphene nanosheet, and 3D graphite foam) with the metal loading of 3.0–4.5 wt %. The direct transmission electron microscopy imaging and X-ray absorption spectra analyses confirm the atomic dispersed metal in carbon supports. Our study reveals that the abundant oxygenated groups for complexing metal ions and the rich defective sites for incorporating nitrogen are essential to realize the synthesis of SACs. Furthermore, the carbon nanotube supported Ni SACs exhibits high electrocatalytic activity for CO₂ reduction with nearly 100 % CO selectivity. This universal strategy is expected to open up new research avenues to produce SACs for diverse electrocatalytic applications.

Improved algorithm about NSFOT

For the purpose of further saving computing time, an improved algorithm about NSFOT is provided in this paper. That is, by introducing the simple operations such as preprocessing or after-processing, Haar and Walsh transforms are performed conveniently on the multiprocessor. As a result, one large size problem is divided into several small size sub-problems, load on every processor not only decreases greatly but also gets so uniform that much time is saved. Both the theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.     

Sortase A-catalyzed peptide cyclization for the synthesis of macrocyclic peptides and glycopeptides

A chemoenzymatic method was developed for the synthesis of macrocyclic peptides and glycopeptides. Sortase A was found to mediate either head to tail cyclization or oligomerization and then head to tail cyclization of peptides and glycopeptides, depending on the peptide length, to produce 15-mer or higher cyclic peptides and glycopeptides.

三嗪-吡唑钌配合物的合成、结构及光催化活性

光催化具有无污染、安全高效等优点,已成为环保领域的研究热点。 本文选择2,4-二(3,5-二甲基吡唑)-6-二乙基胺-1,3,5-三嗪(L₁)和2, 6-二[3-(5-甲基吡唑基)]吡啶(L₂)为配体、以RuCl₃为金属源,合成了3种配合物[Ru(L₁)Cl₃](1)、[Ru(L₂)₂]·Cl₃(2)和[Ru(L₂)₂]·(H₂BTC)·(HBTC)·H₂O(3),同时进行了IR、UV-Vis、TG及X射线衍射等表征,并对配合物在光催化降解罗丹明B方面进行了探讨,结果表明,配合物13均具有一定程度的光降解效果,降解效果分别为46.8%、44.7%和40.4%。 相同条件下,加入H₂O₂后的配合物13的降解效果比金属盐、配体及H₂O₂单独存在时的降解效果好。     

Spectroscopic characteristic of Ce3+ at two different sites in Ba3Lu(BO3)3 under ultraviolet excitation

A series of Ba₃Lu_{1 ? x} Ce _x (BO₃)₃ phosphors with different x value were prepared by a conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction method, and their spectroscopic characteristic were systematically investigated. The excitation and emission spectra indicate Ce³⁺ can occupy two different Lu lattice sites, and shows different luminescence properties. The spectroscopic characteristic of Ce(1) and Ce(2) which include Stokes shift and crystal field depression were investigated. The investigation indicates that Ba₃Lu(BO₃)₃: Ce³ phosphor can have potential application in white-light emitting diodes due to the near-ultraviolet excitation band and blue light emission of Ce(2) in Ba₃Lu(BO₃)₃.     

稀土及其负载型催化剂催化松香酯化动力学规律研究

研究了稀土氧化物 (NdnOm,SmnOm,GdnOm,LanOm)及其负载型催化剂对松香的催化酯化反应 ,系统探讨了稀土氧化物催化松香酯化的动力学规律 ,并初步比较了稀土及其附载型催化剂的催化性能。     

Construction and application of a novel library: Fourier transform infrared wavelet coefficients library

This article aims at designing a wavelet alternative to Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR). In order to select the most suitable wavelet parameters to perform, several decomposition levels and 53 wavelets were tested by trial and error approach, respectively. The result indicated that discrete meyer wavelet (dmey) associated with its third decomposition level was very efficient for this purpose. On the base of it, a novel library named as Fourier transform infrared wavelet coefficients library (FTIR-WC) has been constructed. Finally, two tools such as library search and structure elucidation were developed to evaluate the capability of the new library system. The results obtained were also compared with those from FTIR library by a variety of indices. The results suggested that the new library performed better but with less volume. This work is expected to propose a novel and practical strategy in infrared spectroscopic analysis.
