Using bioconversion and simultaneous value-added product generation requires purification of the gaseous and the liquid streams before, during, and after the bioconversion process. The effect of diversified process parameters on the efficiency of biohydrogen generation via biological processes is a broad object of research. Biomass-based raw materials are often applied in investigations regarding biohydrogen generation using dark fermentation and photo fermentation microorganisms. The literature lacks information regarding model mixtures of lignocellulose and starch-based biomass, while the research is carried out based on a single type of raw material. The utilization of lignocellulosic and starch biomasses as the substrates for bioconversion processes requires the decomposition of lignocellulosic polymers into hexoses and pentoses. Among the components of lignocelluloses, mainly lignin is responsible for biomass recalcitrance. The natural carbohydrate-lignin shields must be disrupted to enable lignin removal before biomass hydrolysis and fermentation. The matrix of chemical compounds resulting from this kind of pretreatment may significantly affect the efficiency of biotransformation processes. Therefore, the actual state of knowledge on the factors affecting the culture of dark fermentation and photo fermentation microorganisms and their adaptation to fermentation of hydrolysates obtained from biomass requires to be monitored and a state of the art regarding this topic shall become a contribution to the field of bioconversion processes and the management of liquid streams after fermentation. The future research direction should be recognized as striving to simplification of the procedure, applying the assumptions of the circular economy and the responsible generation of liquid and gas streams that can be used and purified without large energy expenditure. The optimization of pre-treatment steps is crucial for the latter stages of the procedure.  相似文献

The catalytic behaviour of glassy carbon electrode modified by 1,2-dihydroxy antraquinone (Alizarin) was investigated. The electrocatalytic ability of modified electrode for the reduction of dioxygen was examined by cyclic voltammetry and rotating disk electrode (RDE) voltammetry techniques. The Alizarin modified glassy carbon electrode possesses excellent electrocatalytic abilities for dioxygen reduction over potential 400 mV lower than at the bare glassy carbon electrode. Hydrodynamic studies were performed to determine the heterogeneous rate constant for the reduction of O2 at the surface of modified electrode. It was determined by Koutecky-Levich plot. The apparent diffusion coefficient of O2 in O2 saturated acidic solutions was estimated by using Levich equation. Studies show the involvement of four electrons in dioxygen reduction at the surface of this modified electrode.  相似文献

The electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol studied at the surface of nickel disc electrode coated with N,N-bis(salicylidene)phenylenediamine (Salophen) legend in 0.10 M NaOH solution using cyclic voltammetry. The results showed that the Ni-salophen layer formed at the surface of electrode behaves as an efficient electrocatalyst for the oxidation of methanol in alkaline medium. The thermal analysis of Ni-salophen complex studied at temperature ranges 0–800°C in argon atmosphere. Also, FTIR was employed to prove the formation of complex on the modified electrode surface. Moreover, the effects of various parameters such as oven temperature, methanol concentration, NaOH concentration and media temperature on electro-oxidation of methanol were investigated. The kinetic parameters such as activation energy and Tafel slope were calculated for methanol oxidation on the modified electrode surface. MWCNTs‐nanoNiO composite was used as a glassy carbon electrode modifier for construction of a novel catalase nanobiosensor for hydrogen peroxide. The immobilized catalase exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the reduction of H2O2. The resulting amperometric biosensor exhibited a linear response over a concentration range of 200 µM to 2.53 mM with a low detection limit of 19.0 µM. Electrochemical impedance measurements revealed that the modified electrode can be used for the sensitive detection of H2O2. The charge transfer resistance found to decrease significantly after enzymatic reaction of nanobiosensor with H2O2. The resulting impedance was highly sensitive to H2O2 over a linear range of 19–170 nM with a detection limit of 2.4 nM.  相似文献

We have designed and proposed the edge modes supported by graphene ribbons and the planar band-pass filter consisting of graphene ribbons coupled to a graphene ring resonator by using the finite-difference time-domain numerical method.Simulation results show that the edge modes improve the electromagnetic coupling between devices. This structure works as a novel, tunable mid-infrared band-pass filter. Our studies will benefit the fabrication of planar, ultra-compact nano-scale devices in the mid-infrared region. A power splitter consisting of two output ribbons that is useful in photonic integrated devices and circuits is also designed and simulated. These devices are useful for designing ultra-compact planar devices in photonic integrated circuits.  相似文献

This review gives an overview of the electrochemical investigations about the properties of various types of graphene composites in the ethanol oxidation. Various routes to provide appropriate graphene‐based materials required electrochemical techniques for investigation of different types of the materials as well as their performance and efficacy in ethanol oxidation are discussed in detail. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the incorporation of suitable materials, e. g. noble metals (graphene‐supported binary and ternary metal nanoparticles), metal oxides, conductive polymer, etc, with graphene results in excellent electrocatalytic activity, superb durability and selectivity in ethanol oxidation. Immobilization of electrocatalytically active NPs on graphene supports using physical approaches is considered as an effective route to prepare direct ethanol fuel cell (DEFC) anode catalysts.  相似文献

The lifetime of electrostatically trapped indirect excitons in a field-effect structure based on coupled AlGaN/GaN quantum wells has been theoretically studied. Within the plane of a double quantum well, indirect excitons are trapped between the surfaces of the AlGaN/GaN heterostructures and a semitransparent metallic top gate. The trapping mechanism has been assumed to be a combination of the quantum confined Stark effect and local field enhancement. In order to study the trapped exciton lifetime, the binding energy of indirect excitons in coupled quantum wells is calculated by finite difference method in the presence of an electric field. Thus, the lifetime of trapped excitons is computed as a function of well width, AlGaN barrier width, the position of double quantum well in the device and applied voltage.  相似文献
