Synthesis and crystal structure of triphenyl[tris(tetrahydrofuran)]ytterbium, Ph3Yb(THF)3

Triphenyl[tris(tetrahydrofuran)]ytterbium, Ph₃Yb(THF)₃ (1), was synthesized in high yields by the reaction of Yb with an excess of Ph₂Hg or Ph₃Bi in the presence of catalytic amounts of YbI₂(THF)₄ as well as by the reaction of Ph₂Yb(THF)₂ (2) with Ph₂Hg or Ph₃Bi. Dimethyl 1-aryl-4,5-dioxo-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrole-2,3-dicarboxylates reacted with 3-arylamino-1H-inden-1-ones to give the corresponding methyl 1-aryl-3-[2-(arylamino)-2-oxoacetyl]-2,5-dioxo-2,5-dihydro-1H-indeno[1,2-b]pyridine-4-carboxylates.     

Spectroscopic and Thermal Study of Mixed Ligand Complexes of Cobalt (II) with β-Diketones and Pyrazinamide.

Abstract

The synthesis of mixed ligand of cobalt (II) with β-diketones (β-dik) (acetylacetone and hexafluoroacetylacetone) and pyrazinamide is proposed. The compounds were investigated by IR- and diffuse reflectance spectroscopies, differential thermal analysis. It is shown that Co (II) β-diketonates (acetylacetone, hexafluoroacetylacetone) mixed ligand complexes with pyrazinamide have a structure corresponding to a distorted octahedron, having D_4h symmetry. The complexes are bonded through hydrogen bonds via water molecules.

Substituted alkyl 4,5-dioxo-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylates reacted with urea to give alkyl 2-(carbamoylamino)-4-hydroxy-5-oxo-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylates which underwent intramolecular cyclization to 8-hydroxy-1,3,6-triazaspiro[4.4]non-8-ene-2,4,7-triones by the action of sodium methoxide.
