Hyperfine-splitting constants in the optical spectra of rare-earth elements, Nd, Eu, Gd, and Lu, were measured using the laser-induced resonance fluorescence in a low-divergence atomic beam. Values of the hyperfine magnetic anomaly for different atomic levels were determined by comparing the ratios of the magnetic dipole constants of neighboring isotopes with odd numbers of protons or neutrons. The relation of these values to the special features of the atomic and nuclear structure of the investigated elements is discussed.  相似文献

A laser spectroscopic setup has been applied in the past to successfully investigate off-line the hyperfine structure splitting of radionuclides. In the present paper, its modification is described which will enable the determination of nuclear magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments with higher sensitivity and higher resolution.  相似文献

Calcium vanadates Ca5Mg4−xZnx(VO4)6 (0 ≤ x ≤ 4) have been studied for the first time using a set of high-temperature methods of analysis. The onset of melting process determined from differential scanning calorimetry decreases from 1158 to 881 °C (± 1.5 °C) with increasing of x (dopant’s content). CTE temperature dependence is found to show a hysteresis. Electrical transport properties measured by impedance spectroscopy in air of different humidity are also discussed. The value of electrical conductivity does not depend on air humidity. It is found to equal to 1.5 × 10−6 S cm−1 at 720 °C for Ca5Mg4(VO4)6 which is specific for garnet-related crystals.

Collinear laser spectroscopy experiments on the ScII transition 3d4s 3D2→3d4p 3F3 at λ ≈ 363.1 nm were performed on the 42–46Sc isotopic chain using an ion guide isotope separator with a cooler–buncher. Isotope and isomer shifts and hyperfine structures of five ground states and two isomers were measured. Preliminary results on the nuclear moments and charge radii changes deduced from these measurements are reported.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the D2 optical line in 22Na and 23Na has been investigated using high resolution laser spectroscopy of a well-collimated atomic beam. The hyperfine splitting constants A and B for the excited 3p 2P3/2 level for both investigated sodium isotopes have been obtained. They are as follows: A(22) = 7.31(4) MHz, B(22) = 4.71(28) MHz, A(23) = 18.572(24) MHz, B(23) = 2.723(55) MHz. With this data, using the high precision MCHF calculations for the electric field gradient at the nucleus, the electric quadrupole moment of 22Na has been deduced: Qs(22) =+0.185(11) b. The sign of Qs(22), determined for the first time, indicates a prolate nuclear deformation. A precise value of the isotope shift 22,23Na in the D2 line has also been obtained. The first on-line laser spectroscopy of cooled fission fragments is reported. The r ions, produced in uranium fission, were extracted and separated using an ion guide isotope separator. The ions were cooled and bunched for collinear laser spectroscopy by a gas-filled linear Paul trap. New results for nuclear mean-square charge radii, dipole, and quadrupole moments are reported across the N=60 shape change. The mean-square charge radii are found to be almost identical to those of the Sr isotones and previously offered modeling of the radial changes is critically reviewed.  相似文献

Laser spectroscopy measurements have been carried out on very neutron-deficient isotopes of Au, Pt and Ir, produced as daughter elements from a Hg ISOLDE beam. For these transitional region nuclides, the hyperfine structure (HFS) and isotope shift (IS) were measured by Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy (RIS). Magnetic moments μ, spectroscopic quadrupole moments Qs and changes of the nuclear mean square charge radius δ〈rc 2〉along isotopic series have been extracted. For some results, a detailed comparison with theoretical predictions is presented. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Isotope shifts and hyperfine structures in three optical transitions of HfI are investigated. Magnetic dipole coupling constant A and electric quadrupole coupling constant B of four atomic levels for both stable odd-even isotopes177Hf and179Hf are determined. Nuclear charge radii changesδr 2〉 of the stable Hf isotopes and182 Hf (T 1/2=9×106 y) are extracted using the standard semiempirical procedure. Strong deviation from muonic atom data onδr 2〉 is observed. The course of theδr 2〉 dependence on mass number indicates changes in nuclear deformation at A=174 and influence of higher order deformations on nuclear shape in this region.  相似文献
