Cycloaddition of fluorinated oxazoles

Cycloaddition reactions of polyfluorinated 1,3-oxazoles with cyclic and acyclic alkenes were studied. The results of these reactions were interpreted using quantum chemical calculations. An unusual product, viz., fluorine-containing acylpyrrole, was studied by X-ray diffraction. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Cycloaddition of norbornadiene to fluorine-containing heteroaddends

Cycloaddition reactions of norbornadiene with fluorinated heteroaddends (hexafluoro-acetone, dichlorotetrafluoroacetone, trifluoroacetonitrile, and N-trifluoroacetylhexafluoro-propan-2-imine) were studied. As a rule, the reactions follow the concerted mechanism. The reaction with bis(trifluoromethyl)ketene gave a mixture of tricyclene [2+2]- and [2+2+2]-cyclo-adducts formed along different pathways. __________ Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Synthesis and electrochemical study of 3- and 4-(2-pyridyl)-1,3-benzothiazole complexes with transition metals (CoII, NiII, and CuII). Molecular structure of bis{(4-(2-pyridyl)-1,3-benzothiazole)copper(ii)} tetraacetate

A series of the M(L)Cl₂ · nH₂O and {M(L)}₂(OAc)₄ complexes (M = Ni^II, Co^II, and Cu^II; L is 3- and 4-(2-pyridyl)-1,3-benzothiazole) were synthesized by the reaction of L with MX₂ · nH₂O (X = Cl, OAc) in ethanol. The molecular and crystal structures of the CuL₂(OAc)₄ binuclear complex (L is 4-(2-pyridyl)benzothiazole) were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The copper atoms have a distorted tetragonal bipyramidal environment and are coordinated to the nitrogen atom of the pyridine moiety of the ligand and to two oxygen atoms of the bridging acetate ligands. The Cu-Cu distance is 2.6129(9) Å. The electrochemical behavior of the synthesized ligands and complexes was studied using the cyclic voltammetry and rotating disk electrode techniques in DMF solutions (0.1 M Bu₄NClO₄). The primary reduction of all the complexes under study is directed to the metal.     

Synthesis,NMR and Conformational Studies of Fucoidan Fragments 1:1 Desulfated 2,3- and 3,4-Branched Trisaccharide Fragments and Constituting Disaccharides

ABSTRACT

Two fucotriosides with vicinal disubstitution α-L-Fuc-(1→2)[α-L-Fuc-(1→3)]α-L-Fuc-OPr (1) and α-L-Fuc-(1→3)[α-L-Fuc-(1→4)]α-L-Fuc-OPr (2), which are related to fragments of natural polysaccharides fucoidans, have been synthesized together with constituent disaccharides 3-5. Spectral and conformational properties of tri- and disaccharides have been investigated by ¹H, ¹³C and NOE NMR spectroscopy.
