Routing-efficient CDS construction in Disk-Containment Graphs

In wireless networks, Connected Dominating Sets (CDSs) are widely used as virtual backbones for communications. On one hand, reducing the backbone size will reduce the maintenance overhead. So how to minimize the CDS size is a critical issue. On the other hand, when evaluating the performance of a wireless network, the hop distance between two communication nodes, which reflect the energy consumption and response delay, is of great importance. Hence how to minimize the routing cost is also a key problem for constructing the network virtual backbone. In this paper, we study the problem of constructing applicable CDS in wireless networks in terms of size and routing cost. We formulate a wireless network as a Disk-Containment Graph (DCG), which is a generalization of the Unit-Disk Graph (UDG), and we develop an efficient algorithm to construct CDS in such kind of graphs. The algorithm contains two parts and is flexible to balance the performance between the two metrics. We also analyze the algorithm theoretically. It is shown that our algorithm has provable performance in minimizing the CDS size and reducing the communication distance for routing.     

Rapid screening swine foot-and-mouth disease virus using micro-ELISA system

In order to tackle both regional and global foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) epdimics, we hereby develop a rapid microfluidic thermal lens microscopic method to screen swine type O FMDV with good efficiency. The scheme has great merits in terms of field portability, sample volume, assay time, analytical sensitivity, and test reproducibility.

Synthesis and Characterization of Three New Unsymmetrical Porphyrins

The synthesis and characterization of three new unsymmetrical porphyrins is reported. These porphyrins are isomers and have not been reported previously. A new method was used to synthesize the porphyrins which is different from the general synthetic porcedure which was developed by Adler ^[1]. The structural assignment of the three isomers was based on the elemental analyses, UV-Vis, IR, and ¹HNMR spectra.     

Solving the degree-concentrated fault-tolerant spanning subgraph problem by DC programming

In this paper, we consider the maximum and minimum versions of degree-concentrated fault-tolerant spanning subgraph problem which has many applications in network communications. We prove that both this two problems are NP-hard. For the maximum version, we use DC programming relaxation to propose a heuristic algorithm. Numerical tests indicate that the proposed algorithm is efficient and effective. For the minimum version, we also formulate it as a DC program, and show that the DC algorithm does not perform well for this problem.

NEW POINTS OF VIEW ON THE NONLOCAL FIELD THEORY AND THEIR APPLICATIONS TO THE FRACTURE MECHANICS (Ⅰ)──FUNDAMENTAL THEORY

In the linear nonlocal elasticity theory, the solution to the boundary-value problem of the crack with a constant stress boundary condition does not exist. This problem has been studied in this paper. The contents studied contain of examining objectivity of the energy balance, deducing the constitutive equations of nonlocal thermoelastic bodies, and determining nonlocal force and the linear nonlocal elasticity theory. Some new results are obtained. Among them, the stress boundary condition derived from the linear theory not only solves the problem mentioned at the beginning, but also contains the model of molecular cohesive stress on the sharp crack tip advanced by Barenblatt.

使用经典极谱法测定碲的灵敏度往往不能令人满意,后来出现了溶出伏安法和极谱催化波都提高了灵敏度。至于把二者结合起来应用于碲的测定尚未见报导。本法是把碲电解富集在工作电极上,然后在选定的催化体系中溶出,使其产生溶出催化波,从而提高了灵敏度。     

Measurement of the choroidal blood flow-time curve and its applications

So far it has been difficult to show up the state of blood flow in choroid due to its position underlying behind the retina anatomically. This paper presents the principle and the method of data analysis in the measurement of the choroidal blood flow-time curve by means of laser interferometry. Preliminary investigations show that this technique may be important in the diagnosis of multiple arteritis and prediction of cerebral ischemic disturbances.
