Synthesis of o-carborane-C-carboxylates of certain natural terpene alcohols, sterols, phenols, and camphar oxime

Synthesis of Peroxy Bond Containing Acetylene Alcohols,Ethers, and Esters,Derivatives of 2-Octanone

A synthesis was developed of 2,5-dimethyl-2-tert-alkylperoxy-5-lithiumoxy-3-undecynes by treating the corresponding peroxyalkynes with butyllithium followed by reaction of the arising lithium peroxyacetylides with 2-octanone. The lithium peroxyalcoholates undergo hydrolysis with water to furnish peroxy bond containing alcohols. They also react with methyl and ethyl iodides, alkyl and benzyl bromides in the presence of hexamethylphosphoramide to afford the corresponding 2,5-dimethyl-2-tert-alkylperoxy-5-alkyl(benzyl)oxy-3-undecynes, with benzoyl chloride they yield peroxy bond containing benzoates. The thermal stability of the peroxides obtained was estimated by derivatography.     

Synthesis of 2-R-1,3-dioxanes, derivatives of functionally substituted aldehydes of vanillin series

By the condensation of substituted aldehydes of vanillin series with 1,3-propanediol in boiling benzene in the presence of sulfo cation exchanger FIBAN K-1 as catalyst functionally 2-R-substituted 1,3-dioxanes were synthesized.     

Preparative synthesis of functionally substituted esters of dehydroabietic and 4,4′-biphenyldicarboxylic acids

Structure of a rosin–itaconic acid adduct from 2D NMR spectroscopy data

We have used two-dimensional correlation NMR spectroscopy to study the structure of a new derivative of resin acids isolated from a rosin–itaconic acid adduct. We have established that the synthesized compound is the product of addition of citraconic anhydride to levopimaric acid, the structure of which is close to the structure of maleopimaric acid.

Functionalization of Polyethylene with Peroxy-containing Formulations Derived from Resins Modified with Maleic Anhydride. Properties of Blends of Functionalized Polyethylene with Polyamide 6

Peroxy-containing rosin-maleic and rosin-terpene-maleic resins were prepared and grafted to low-density polyethylene macromolecules by reactive extrusion. The morphology and mechanical properties of blends of functionalized polyethylene with polyamide 6 were determined.     

Ion tracks in amorphous silicon nitride

The morphology of the tracks of swift ions revealed in amorphous silicon nitride after treatment in an HF solution is studied. The Si₃N₄/Si structures were irradiated with Fe, Kr, and W ions in the electron energy loss regime. Discontinuous tracks were recorded upon exposure to W only, with an electron energy loss of 20.4 keV nm⁻¹ being maximal for the conditions of our experiment. The results from calculations of the track formation in Si₃N₄ based on the thermal spike model are presented.
