In this study, the possibilities for quantification of vessel diameters of peripheral arteries in gadolinium contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (Gd CE MRA) were evaluated. Absolute vessel diameter measurements were assessed objectively and semi-automatically in maximum intensity projections (MIPs) of contrast-enhanced T1-weighted 3D spoiled gradient-echo datasets, studied with digital subtraction techniques. In vivo, the complete peripheral arterial bed of six patients was studied, from the aorto-iliac bifurcation down to the distal run-off. By measuring the signal intensity (SI) over the lumen of a vessel in the MIP, an SI-plot was obtained. Next, the vessel boundaries were determined using a threshold algorithm; from these boundary points individual diameter values could be obtained along the trajectory of the vessel. In an in vitro study, an optimal threshold value of 30% of the range of SI-values between the background and the maximal SI in the vessel was obtained for accurate diameter measurement in Gd CE MRA (i.e., full-width 30%-maximum). Furthermore, the relationship between the accuracy of these measurements and the scan resolution was investigated. Accuracy was found to be acceptable (i.e., less than 10% over/underestimation) for vessel sizes covering at least 3 pixels. In six patients, diameters were measured in MIPs of the total datasets (i.e., D(T)) as well as in selective MIPs of the clipped datasets (i.e., D(S)) (n = 209). D(T) and D(S) were statistically significantly correlated (p < 0.01) with a Pearson correlation coefficient rP = 0.98. Measurements in the total MIPs yielded statistically significant (p < 0.01) smaller diameter values compared with measurements in selective MIPs, with a mean difference of 0.15 mm. Diameter values from the selective MIPs of the aorto-iliac arteries were also compared with diameter values measured at corresponding anatomic positions in X-ray angiograms of these patients (i.e., D(x)) (n = 70). D(X) and D(S) were statistically significantly correlated (p < 0.01) with a Pearson correlation coefficient rP = 0.92. Diameters measured in the selective MIPs were smaller than those measured in the X-ray angiograms (mean difference 0.49 mm) and this difference was statistically significant (p < 0.01). In conclusion, diameter values can be evaluated accurately in MIPs of vessels with at least 3 pixels in diameter, using the full-width 30%-maximum criterion.  相似文献

We have carried out extensive studies on the self-injection problem in barrierless heterojunctions between La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (LCMO) and YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) thin films. The heterojunctions were formed in situ by sequentially growing LCMO and YBCO films on 〈100〉 LaAlO3 (LAO) substrate using a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) system. YBCO micro-bridges with 64 μm width were patterned both on the LAO (control) and LCMO side of the substrate. Critical current, I c, was measured at 77 K on both the control side as well as the LCMO side for different YBCO film thickness. It was observed that while the control side showed a J c of ∼ 2 × 106 A/cm2, the LCMO side showed about half the value for the same thickness (1800 ?). The difference in J c indicates that a certain thickness of YBCO has become ‘effectively’ normal due to self-injection. From the measurement of J c at two different thicknesses (1800 ? and 1500 ?) of YBCO films both on the LAO as well as the LCMO side, the value of self-injection length (at 77 K) was estimated to be ∼ 900 ?. To the authors’ best knowledge, this is the first time that self-injection length has been quantified. A control experiment carried out with LaNiO3 deposited by PLD on YBCO did not show any evidence of self-injection.  相似文献

La0.67Ba0.33MnO3 (LBMO) thin film is deposited on a 36.7°C SrTiO3 bicrystal substrate using laser ablation technique. A microbridge is created across bicrystal grain boundary and its characteristics are compared with a microbridge on the LBMO film having no grain boundary. Presence of grain boundary exhibits substantial magnetoresistance ratio (MRR) in the low field and low temperature region. Bicrystal grain boundary contribution in MRR disappears at temperature T>175 K. At low temperature, I-V characteristic of the microbridge across bicrystal grain boundary is nonlinear. Analysis of temperature dependence of dynamic conductance-voltage characteristics of the bicrystal grain boundary indicates that at low temperatures (T<175 K) carrier transport across the grain boundary in LBMO film is dominated by inelastic tunneling via pairs of manganese atoms and tunneling through disordered oxides. At higher temperatures (T>175 K), magnetic scattering process is dominating. Decrease of bicrystal grain boundary contribution in magnetoresistance with the increase in temperature is due to enhanced spin-flip scattering process.  相似文献

Molar extinction coefficients of some carbohydrates viz. l-arabinose (C5H10O5), d-glucose (C6H12O6), d-mannose (C6H12O6), d-galactose (C6H12O6), d(-) fructose (C6H12O6) and maltose (C12H24O12) in aqueous solutions have been determined at 81, 356, 511, 662, 1173 and 1332 keV by gamma ray transmission method in a narrow beam good geometry set-up. These coefficients have been found to depend upon the photon energy following a 4-parameter polynomial. These extinction coefficients for different sugars having the same molecular formula have same values varying within experimental uncertainty. Within concentration ranges studied, Beer-Lambert law is obeyed very well.  相似文献

The chemical shifts and the direct and indirect spin–spin coupling constants of HCN have been measured in various liquid crystal solvents. The sign of the indirect coupling constant J(15NH) is found to be negative. The 13C shift anisotropy is 334±20 ppm. The molecular structure apparently varies considerably with the solvent used. These solvent effects, which can be attributed to a correlation between vibration and rotation of the molecule, are corrected.  相似文献

Copper (Cu2+) and manganese (Mn2+) ions influenced laccase (Lac) and peroxidase production in Pleurotus eryngii, Pleurotus ostreatus, and Pleurotus pulmonarius. In P. eryngii, the optimum Cu2+ concentration for Lac production was 1 mM and for peroxidases 10mM, and Mn2+ concentration of 5mM led to peaks of Lac and peroxidase activity. In P. ostreatus HAI 493, the highest level of Lac activity was at Cu2+ concentrations of 1 and 10 mM and Mn2+ concentration of 1mM, respectively. The absence of Cu2+ and Mn2+ caused the highest levels of peroxidase production. In P. ostreatus HAI 494, the highest level of Lac activity was at a Cu2+ concentration of 5 mM and at Mn2+ concentration of 1 mM, respectively. High levels of peroxidase activity were found in the medium without and with 1mM Cu2+, and at 1 and 5 mM Mn2+, respectively. In P. pulmonarius, the highest Lac activity was found in the presence of 5 mM Cu2+ and 5 mM Mn2+, respectively. The absence of Cu2+ and Mn2+ as well as their presence at a concentration of 1 mM led to the peaks of peroxidase activities.  相似文献
