Heat capacities of the Pb2xSn2(1-x)P2Se6 crystals (x=0, 0.098, 0.251, 0.402 and 1.0) were measured using an adiabatic calorimeter at temperatures between 10 and 350 K. In the crystal of x=0, two heat capacity anomalies corresponding to the ferroelectric commensurate - intermediate incommensurate(C-IC) phase transition temperature T i, and the incommensurate - paraelectric (IC-N) phase transition temperature T c, were observed at 193.24±0.10 and 220.07±0.15 K, respectively. The phase transition temperatures decreased with an increase in Pb2+ concentration. The anomaly at Ti disappeared at x=0.251 in the mixed systems of the Pb2xSn2(1-x)P2Se6. In the crystal of Pb2P2Se6 (x=1.0), no phase transition was observed. The normal heat capacities for the mixed crystals were determined by least squares fitting of the Debye and Einstein functions to the experimental data. The anomalous heat capacities gave the phase transition entropies of 8.5 and 1.5 J mol-1 K-1 for x=0. The large transition entropies are consistent with an order-disorder mechanism in the ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transitions in x=0. The dielectric properties of layered crystals of CuInP2(SexS1?x)6 solid solutions are studied at x = 0.02, 0.05, 0.20, and 0.40. At a low selenium content (x ≤ 0.05), the solid solutions undergo a transition to the phase with short-range polar order. This transition manifests itself as a diffuse maximum in the temperature dependence of the permittivity ε′(T). Ferroelectric ordering in the solid solutions under investigation is suppressed at x > 1. It is assumed that the structural disordering initiated by the substitution of atoms in the anion sublattice of the solid solutions at 0.1 < x < 0.75 leads to the formation of the state of structured glass. The dielectric relaxation dispersion observed in the radio-frequency range at temperatures of 80–140 K is associated with the freezing of the relaxation dynamics of individual copper atoms.  相似文献

The temperature and frequency dependencies of sound attenuation for the proper uniaxial ferroelectric Sn2P2S6, which has a strong nonlinear interaction of the polar soft optic and fully symmetrical optic modes that is related to the triple well potential, were studied by Brillouin spectroscopy. It was found that the sound velocity anomaly is described in the Landau-Khalatnikov approximation with one relaxation time. For explanation of the observed temperature and frequency dependencies of the sound attenuation in the ferroelectrric phase, the accounting of several relaxation times is needed and, for quantitative calculations, the mode Gruneisen coefficients are more appropriate as interacting parameters than are the electrostrictive coefficients. Relaxational sound attenuation by domain walls also appears in the ferroelectric phase of Sn2P2S6 crystals.  相似文献

Investigation results of dielectric and ultrasonic properties of layered CuInP2S6 crystals are presented. At low frequencies, dielectric spectra are highly influenced by the high ionic conductivity with the activation energy of 7357.4?K (0.635?eV). The high-frequency part of the spectra is determined by relaxational soft mode. The critical slowing down and Debye-type dispersion show the order–disorder type of the phase transition. The temperature dependence of the relaxational soft mode and dielectric contribution show a quasi-one-dimensional behaviour. Ultrasonic velocity exhibits critical slowing down which is accompanied by attenuation peaks in the phase transition region. Layered CuInP2S6 crystals have extremely large elastic nonlinearity in the direction perpendicular to layers. The nonlinear elastic parameters substantially increases at the PT temperature.  相似文献

We present the results for thermal expansion coefficients of Sn2P2S6 crystals determined both in the crystallographic system and the system based on eigenvectors of thermal expansion tensor. Peculiarities of temperature evolution of the indicative surface of thermal expansion tensor for Sn2P2S6 are discussed, including the region of their ferroelectric phase transition.  相似文献

Investigation results of dielectric (20?Hz–1?MHz) properties of layered CuBiP2Se6 crystals are presented. The temperature dependence of the static dielectric permittivity reveals the first-order “displacive” antiferroelectric phase transition at T c?=?136?K. In the paraelectric phase, at low frequencies, dielectric spectra are highly influenced by the high ionic conductivity with the activation energy of 2473?K (0.21?eV). In the antiferroelectric phase the electrical conductivity and its activation energy (531.1?K (0.045?eV)) are considerably smaller. At low temperatures, the temperature behaviour of the distribution of relaxation times reveals complex freezing phenomena. A part of long relaxation time distribution is strongly affected by external direct current (DC) electric field and it is obviously caused by antiferroelectric domain dynamics.  相似文献

The structural change occurring in between the paraelectric and the ferroelectric phases is investigated by means of X-ray diffraction. Details of the structure in both phases are obtained and the role of the lone pair is discussed in the light of structural data. In agreement with the 2/ m to m symmetry lowering, polar displacements are found within the m plane away from a particular crystallographic direction but antiparallel displacements occur also. These results are discussed in the frame of the phenomenological theory which predicts a particular temperature dependence of the dielectric polarization in this crystal. The low frequency lattice dynamics and its relationship to the second order paraelectric-to-ferroelectric transition in Sn2P2S6 is studied. The dispersion branches of the acoustic and lowest lying optical phonons in the a*-c* plane have been obtained in the ferroelectric phase, for x-polarized phonons. Close to the phase transition a considerable softening is found for the lowest optical mode (Px), comparable to the behaviour observed in previous Raman investigations. As found previously in Sn2P2Se6, a strong coupling between the TO(Px) and TA(uxz) phonons is observed, although, apparently, not strong enough to lead to an incommensurate phase. The soft TO(Px) mode at the zone center is observed. The temperature dependence of its frequency and damping shows that the transition is not entirely displacive. At low temperatures an unusual apparent negative LO-TO splitting is observed which is shown to arise from the coupling of the x-polarized soft mode to the nearby z-polarized optical phonon. For comparison, the soft TO(Px) dispersion in the a*-b* plane is measured in both the paraelectric and ferroelectric phases. Consistent frequency changes and LO-TO splitting are observed, revealing a significant interaction between the TA(uyx) and LA(uxx) acoustics branches and the TO and LO soft optic branches, respectively. In contrast, the nearby y-polarized optic branch shows almost no temperature dependence. Finally, the influence of piezoelectric effects on the limiting acoustic slopes in the ferroelectric phase is discussed. Received: 11 May 1998 / Revised and Accepted: 15 June 1998  相似文献

Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering in chalcogenide glasses of the Ge-As-S system was investigated for the (As2S3)100?x (GeS2)x (x=0–100) series. The longitudinal hypersonic velocities, adiabatic elasto-optical constants (p 12)ad at frequencies of about 15 GHz, and Landau–Placzek ratios (R LP) were determined.  相似文献
